sounds like i may be very interested in the kickstarterRik is most proud of The Mighty Muscules (rhymes with Hercules) Son of Tertosteros - Muscular guy with a mustache, wrestler, talks like Hulk Hogan, sash, strong arms, orange Tech Drone, wants to join the hero team. They will reveal him soon. He will be a Kickstarter exclusive. (sounds like Pretender Stranglehold to me).

I'll have to see what they're offering for what prices at the crowd-funding stage, but their Octopunch looks real nice, so I hope they do well, and we get Stranglehold and then the Pretender Beasts as well!

With the focus being the shells and articulating them while neglecting the core robots I just don't see this being worth the venture regardless of which big-name-former-employees are a part of the project.
If only they spent a little more time with the core robots... articulating them and making them equally important compared to the pretender shells I would have been all over this.
Let's celebrate 900 likes on our Facebook page with the reveal of our crowd funding exclusive colors for Head Shots Vol. 3! And come back tomorrow for our very first Play With This Toosday reveal! We're hoping the MOTU fans will like what we debut tomorrow...

I really agree with this.
I also collect 6" scale superhero figures, so I have some interest in 6" figures that happen to be cool looking and articulated, so I may pick up one or two of these just to check it out.
BUT, if the bots were better, and not just pull apart weapon guys, I would have a LOT more interest. If the inner robots scaled with legends (and they seem to have the height right) these could work REALLY well in a legends collection, or passably so in Classics.
As it is, something just doesn't fit for me.

Also agree with this.
If I wanted this sort of thing, I'd buy a few Hasbro TF Hero Smashers toys at cheap USA retail prices.
Think if Hasbro does any pretenders for their TF Hero Smashers toy line they'd really kill sales on these PWTT Pretenders toys.
Scaleface wrote:From what I heard in the interviews the original plan was just to make highly articulated 6 inch figures with 5mm port weapons that could be easily configured. Rik said it was Mark Wong who figured out that it wouldn't take much extra to add the bits to make those accessories combine into humanoids forms, so they did that. I wonder if maybe the fan reaction that people want transforming drones, even if they are simple as Legends, will make future designs a bit more complex transforming. I notice that the later design for Jetstike's drone looks a bit more complex and transforming than the Desolataur, Astroblast and Bloodbath drone.
The drone here looks like his legs pull out and his nosecone flips down.

Don't know if it's homaging any character in particular but who cares? That face! Those colours! The spikes! I will say the Skull-FCKR head needs a bit more colour definition but that aside it's perfect.

Its Play With This Toosday! Every Tuesday from now until our crowd funding campaign begins in February 2015, we'll do reveals over our social networks. For our first "Toosday" reveal, here are our Serpents of the Coiled Table 3-pack. This concept was developed by Lord Trent of the Troop-lands and designed by Sir Steve the Redinger and Sir Aaron of House Archer.
"The Mysterious Serpents of the Coiled Table maintain order on their home-world of Aspalon. These fearsome cold-blooded warriors claim kinship with the snakes and serpent-men of all worlds and woe be to any man or machine that intervenes in their quests or, worse, goads them into battle.
Serving the will of their lord, King Adder, are Sir Pythanore, a wise a cunning aide to the King, Sir Fangramore LeVenomous, powerful lashing warrior of unequaled strength and a host of eager young viper squires ready to test their mettle and earn their honor."
Both Sir Pythanore and Sir Fangramore LeVenomous will be crowd funding exclusive characters. Additional Viper Squires will be available later on in different colors. The colors for the Viper Squire in this 3-pack will be exclusive to the set.
