Well, here's a repost of a couple of posts I had talking about the stickers over in the Giant Type 61 thread:

Yotsuyasan wrote:Well, I got the Reprolabels for this guy, thought I'd share some photos of my freshly stickered Devastator for you all.

First, the individual bot modes:

I have to say, I've changed my mind twice now on one thing about these toys, that being the white and red stripes on them. When I first saw them, I was like, "What is Maketoys thinking? The Constructicons have always had black and yellow stripes!" Then, I got used to the red and white, and I thought, "Huh... not what I would have done, but it really does kind of work." But these stickers gave the Constructicons back the proper colouration in the stripes, and it does look so much better! (Or at least, so much more like fond childhood memories of the original toys.)

Now the vehicle modes:

For those who prefer a purple mixing barrel for Mixmaster, Reprolabels did provide stickers for that option. I've always been more of a green-barrel guy myself, though. There's actually three barrel options, I suppose. Completely purple, purple with the black and yellow stripes in the middle, or green with the stripes in the middle.

Reprolabels did also provide two different options of stickers for all of the windows each vehicle has. One option is a deeper colour of purple that better matches the other purple on this Devestator. The other option is a greyish/silverish colour to probably better resemble glass. Personally, I was fine with the windows the colour they were, and thus didn't bother with the window stickers.

This set features some tiny stickers, the most tiny and most annoying to apply of which would be the chrome stickers on Scrapper's ladders. Have fun putting them on! (Do take your time.)

The chrome detailing on the various shovels and blades on some of the vehicles all had two options: plain chrome, or "dirty" stickers. I went with the dirty option. Thought it looked a bit more fun.

Now onto Devastator!

Image

Not trying to pick a fight with Hercules fans here, but Maketoys Giant was always to me a much more "G1" looking Devastator, even when Hercules has his add-on set. This sticker set really drives that home and gives him all of the little details to complete the homage this toy was providing.

The only real complaint I would have is that it would have been nice if Reprolabels had provided stickers for Devastator's forehead. I really do like the head I am using here better overall, but I do miss the silver that the other head provided has, and had been hoping Reprolabels might provide a way to have that on this head as well. But other then that, an excellent group of stickers to give your Maketoys Giant the finishing touches to make him a truly excellent Classics Devastator, and provides options in many of the stickers to give each person a choice in what details their Constructicons have. I'd definitely recommend these stickers to anyone who owns these toys.

(Wow, writing all of the above reminds me that I really need to start writing reviews for my website again. I really haven't meant to abandon it since the fall, it has just sort of happened that way. Some day... hopefully soon... I'll get back to it!)

Autobot032 wrote:Seeing the repros on Giant, I wish they had made a yellow set. I can't imagine it would take Delta that much time, or give him that much work to change the colors in the computer to match the yellow set.

I will agree that it would be nice for Yellow owners if there were versions specifically for the Yellow ones. But, if worse comes to worst and Yellow ones are never produced, I would say that the majority of the stickers in this set should still work with the yellow set.

Only Scavanger and Bonecrusher have stickers on them that have green on them and that don't have optional choices less dependent on colour matching. On Scavanger, the stickers with coloured tubing on the excavator arm and on the side of the vehicle, and on Bonecrusher the three stickers that wrap around the sides of the vehicle and cover the exposed bit of the connecting mechanism on the top of his vehicle.

Any other stickers you see that have green on them have other options you can use which would of course be better for using with the Yellow set. (Also, there are other green stickers I didn't use, the main example being that all of the faction symbols had green background options, but for the most part I preferred the more G1-looking silver background.)

So yeah, these stickers are designed more with the green set in mind. In a fair world, there would also be a yellow set available. (Also, if I was designing it, it wouldn't be just a colour-swaped version of the green set. Yellow Giant has a very different paint scheme as it is. First thing I would do would be stickers to mask all of the "MTC Co." logos.) But in a worst case scenario where that never happens, I should think that many of these stickers would be able to cross over well onto the Yellow version.

So that was a look on the stickers on the green version. I would be curious to see how they look on the yellow version.

I have been watching alot of youtube clips about them and I had my skepticism from what people have said about not-Scrapper being so difficult to transform and whatnot. But after receiving and having a go at forming them both, I really really like them and transforming not-Scrapper is actually not to hard as people have made out to be on youtube. Also I was freaking out that the bot mode's head would end up staring down his cab/chest, but fortunately hes not which is great. not-Mixmaster is pretty awesome but his height over not-Scrapper bugged me abit so I don't pull out his calves and that makes them both a similar height. The general size of the figures is quite nice too because I never bothered to look up any comparison pictures I naturally assumed that they would be just a little bit smaller than deluxe seekers but thankfully they are a touch bigger. So all in all i will definitely be purchasing the remaining sets to complete Giant and the reprolabels to go with them :CON:

I got the Reprolabels, I just haven't had a chance to put them on. There are a few labels in green meant for the green version, but I'm hoping a yellow sharpie will fix that. But you must admit, the tabs that hold Mixmaster's cab together are downright scary and have the potential to snap off eventually.

What are the labels like? and are there any that cover the "MTCco"?
Oh dude I was packing myself about Mixmasters tabs too but I found an easy way to unclip both tabs without the stress sweating involved. all you do is pull the cab out as if you were going to put him into foot mode and unclip the tab on truck cab, It should unclip fair;ly easily and then unclip the tab on the his calves, and they should come apart easily but not as easy as the cab ones but easier than if you didnt pull out that cab section. If you want i can put a video up tonight on how i do it?

Yeah, that would be great ! And post the video right on this thread. Im sure it would help plenty of people out. Thanks. :D

On the Reprolabels, I don't believe they are made to cover the MTCco. Some labels might not look right because they wont cover the whole tampo. Not that I like the tampo, but Ive grown to accept it since they at least tried to make it look like a construction company (unlike KFClub) I don't mind if a few labels get left out, as long as I can apply most of them to spice up the robot modes.

Here's a video i made sorry i didn't talk I got stage fright but i did a basic demonstration on how to get his legs uncliped without having to unclip both of them at the same time and this means you can do one at a time. Oh pretty much ignore the tail end i was trying to show what how I have Scrappers head and chest/cab positioned so he doesn't look like hes looking inside it.

I never worried about the tabs that much, but that is a safe way to deal with them. Also you forgot to extend his shins.

One question, am I the only one who's having trouble pulling his waist out for ankle mode? I hold down the 2 little latches on either side and pull with all my might, but all it accomplishes is pulling the ball out of the socket.

Thanks. That looks a lot safer. The back tab is the one that is a little scary, but at least now I can see it better and not force it as much. :D

Thanks for your sticker review it Yotsuyansan its quite cool to see how well they look on the green version. How long did it take to apply them?

I think i'm just looking to put a few faction symbols and the chest stickers on just for that G1 look.

The reason I didn't extend the shins is to make Mixmaster around the same height as the rest of the Constructicons rather than being a giant among bots.

That's ok dude I think I look for safe ways to transform figures just because they cost so much I just want them to last. My FP Bruticus has lasted with no breakages so far but the shoulder parts are getting abit loose so I don't mess with him much.

Must admit it took the better part of an evening... Basically, the mail came around 5:00ish, and I was stickering (at, admittedly, a leisurely pace) until when I went to sleep that evening. As I said, there are some tiny stickers here... and as mentioned, I didn't even use the window stickers. But it is worth taking your time with them and the results look so good!

it also screws up his balance from my experience. Personally I don't mind his height compared to the others, plus I prefer the long shin to thigh ratio.

Yeah it might do i haven't messed with his balance to much mainly because I don't have them posed to actiony. I quite like a relaxed group pose if i can achieve it. I just like them at similar heights. But that's the great thing about this Mixmaster is you can have him tall or short its awesome.

the window stickers look really hard to put on especially the ones for Hook. I'm wondering if i should bother with the sticker set and just get a con symbols set but i really want the purple mixing barrel stickers

Well, since Reprolabels did these stickers as three different sets, you could just get the set that includes Mixmaster. Or, if all you really want is the purple barrel stickers, since I'm leaving my barrel green, I have some I'm not doing anything with... I suppose for $5 or so I could be convinced to stick 'em in an envelope and put a stamp on it. PM me if interested.
