Questions on Armada Toys?

Why most Armada Toys are not very articulated and before that toy line most of the toy line before(not G1) were very articulated action figures well at least most of them ,like BW,BM,RID.

But why Armada toys not having good articulations.

Beats me, It seems like a mold problem, trying to keep them as close to the cartoon as possible. I do agree, however that RiD's figures are much more poseable!

In Germany they advertised it as a masterpice of a remake of the G1 cartoons.
Mening they tried to imitate G1, mening toy with only posable arms.

I think a lot of the problem could be being too gimick orientated. All those Minicon ports that needed machanisms within the toy, that would limit joints etc.

They werent all nasty though. The seekers were pretty good, I still love my Starscream, Thundercracker and Skywarps.

Tidal Wave was great, Im sorry I sold mine on now.

Deluxe Prime was really Good. Jetfire was also pretty good. Although a bit limited in the legs because of his combination gimmick with Prime.

There were a few that were good, but yeah most of them suffered. Even the Seekers could have benefited from a swivel joint on the thigh.

Red Alert is one of the more articulated figs in that line.

But yeah Most were really affected by the Minicon's Gimmicks.

Even Leader Prime was pretty much a brick, in Normal and Super Mode. A Little less bricky when combined with Jetfire.

Red Alert was an excellent figure and I prefer the Armada Version over Cybertron Defense.

Blasphemy! Dildomatron... erm CD Red Alert is my fave tf in the cyb line, which totaly craps all over armada!

Anyway, on a more serious note; Armada was intended to be for a younger aiudience that BW, BM and RiD. As such it needed to be hardier and simpler.

So many Armada designs could have achived this and had better posability than they do mind.

I liked the look and feel of Armada RA. CD was too bulky with the missle getup IMO

In all honesty, I havent got A RA, although I'd like one. I just cant see how one of my fav tfs form my fav line could ever be outdone by his armada counterpart.

Why is Armada less articulated and less detail oriented?

The future.

Many Armada toys could be handled by children at the bottom of the age bracket or even below.

You ever see a kid play with RiD toys? Nope, not me either. They were too hard.

Get young kids hooked on the easy stuff and in a year, they'll buy energon toys (more complex), then later, Cybertron (again, more complex).

It boils down to marketing to the right group.

Well, that and articulation is over rated.

Victory Leo shits all over most toys, and he has 2 real points of articulation.

You do have some good points, and pretty much back up my one.

But sriously, I thin articulation is one of my highest rewuirments after 'it looks good in both modes'.

Man, I still remember the Armada figures were so easy to transform, I think the only Armada figure i needed instructions to transform was Unicron.

I think the bad articulating does come from the designers actually. I think they had trouble with Hot Shot's arms staying on, so that's why they can only move sideways...

I was very dissapointed with Armada as a whole, though, there were some not-as-dim/bright spots towards the end...I loved Hoist a bunch, Jetfire and Wheeljack were okay...and of course, Unicron was a great piece as well.
