For those of you who don't know, there is a new Transformers art book available. Published by Millions Publishing, the same company that released the Transformers Manga collection a few years back, this book is a huge collection of mid-late 80's Transformers artwork. It is available at most larger book and magazine retailers in Japan.

The book includes just about all of the 2D artwork produced for the Japanese market from the start of G1 through the conclusion of G2. This is not a collection of toy photos. This book will have you saying "Oh, THAT'S where that's from!" in between saying "That looks AMAZING." There are plenty of examples of character concept art in addition to some amazing promotional materials (most of which appeared in TV Magazine in the mid-late 80's.

The book retails for ￥2,800 (2,940 after tax) and should be a part of any true fan's collection. The book includes a ticket that allows you to order your choice of one or two of the exclusive "movie colors" G1 Ratchet Encore figure. The figures are 5,750 yen each or 2 for 10,000 yen. They ship in April and the offer is only open to resident of Japan.
