That's a great suggestion, Paul. I've modified the code so that links will open up in new windows. At some point, I'll modify it so that it only does that with external links but for now all links will open in a new window.
Paul Grant wrote:Also the site is really slow in China. I have to wait for all the embedded social networking APIs to timeout before the page will load.
I'm assuming it's the Facebook window in the bottom of the right hand column near the caption contest. Are you able to access Facebook in China? Could also be all of the Google based ads that are on the site as well. I heard that Google was blocked in China again last week so perhaps that could be an issue.

So is anyone else having issues staying signed in? I have to keep seibertron open in another window to stay signed in, and have to sign in every visit. Note that Ive only really been using my PS3, so this could be Sony's fault. .

Check out my Art Thread! It actually gets updated from time to time!

I have reposted this over here hoping for a resolve?
I would have thought that once you un-subscribe from a thread, that thread should be less of an importance and should remain at the bottom of your list "View your posts".
Is there a way, whilst logged in to your account, to sort your list of subscribed threads so that only the ones you are currently subscribed to are listed rather than every thread you have posted on?
Thanks if anyone can help?
PM ME PLEASE!-

You're clicking on the "View Your Posts" link, which leads to here: search.php?search_id=egosearch
You actually need to go to your user control panel, here: ucp.php
Then click here: ucp.php?i=main&mode=subscribed
At the top of the page, it says
Manage subscriptions
Below is a list of forums and topics you are subscribed to. You will be notified of new posts in either. To unsubscribe mark the forum or topic and then press the Unwatch marked button.
That will remove it from your subscripted threads, but because you posted in them, at all, there will be a record of them and if they're being posted in, they will show up in your list of previous posts.
As for sorting, I don't believe there is a feature for that at this time.

Okay.
1 ) The " Generations / Classics / Universe / Reveal The Shield haul thread " currently has a brown piece of paper icon right in front of the thread title, meaning it has had posts in it since I last looked at that thread. It currently has 89 pages. If I click that brown piece of paper icon, it rakes me to the very first post on the very first page, just like I had clicked on the thread title. This is not what is supposed to happen.
On the other hand
2 ) The "Have you ever came home to this? " thread also has a brown piece of paper icon right in front of the thread title, mening it has had posts in it since I last hit the "Mark Topics Read" link. It only has one page. When I click that link, it takes me directly to post #4 in the thread, as when I last clicked the MTR link it had only three posts - and thus the first unread post in that thread is #4. This IS what is supposed to happen.
This behavious means that unless I am very fascinated in a given thread, I tend not to read threads more than one page long, as it's too much trouble (and I don't usually have much time on these forums) to try to remember which page I had most recently looked at, and then find the first new post by hand.
And, umm... I mentioned this more than once earlier in this thread...
... but I can't find those posts. I KNOW I brought it up right after the changeover to this forum software...

I'm also getting the top bar/header ("home", "news", "toys", "forum", etc) as blue now rather than they grey-sort-of-thing I recall, if that's what you're referring to.

Mine's grey, but with different fonts. All over the site actually.
The galleries also have number of views on each thumbnail, which I had never noticed before.

I made a variety of changes this past weekend to help make the site a little more friendly for mobile devices and tablets. A lot of these changes were made to make the site look a little more modern. More subtle changes will be implemented as inspiration hits.
Please let me know if any of you are experiencing difficulties with the new changes. Thanks!

Hey Ryan, to follow up on this, when I access the site via my iPhone 4S, it's crashing a lot the past 2-3 days. Was fine a few days ago. It may open a page or two but then just gives up an quits. I can tell it's probably graphic related; I can see it trying to build out the screen and overlay things over the background. The graphics on pages for top and most recent stories appear odd still too.
I've tried rebooting my phone and clearing the cache but it hasn't really helped. Will try again though to see if it's my hardware.
Just wanted to give you an update.

Nah, everything seems fine on Firefox for Linux so far!
But see what the post above me says.

I appreciate you letting me know that you are having difficulties with it on your iPhone 4S. The only thing that I can think of is the background image is giving your phone trouble. I just modified it so the background image won't display on mobile devices. Let me know if that helps at all. In the meantime, I'll see if I can find my wife's iPad to see if I have issues with the site on that.

It's on my list for some point ... to be honest, I want to get rid of phpBB. phpBB is really behind the times and I'm not sure what I want to do at this point. Open to suggestions if anyone has any. vBulletin is behind as well so they're not a good alternative.

That seemed to get it. Whether I load over the air or wifi, it builds quickly. It was definitely the background that was looking/acting weird before. Thanks!
