Nice work getting the colors in the right shades, and I like how you did the back weapons. Any chance you'll post the alt-mode images to se how the colors flow to that mode?

full of fail. Sorry for the rant in your thread zfeakye, I try to avoid this argument but that statement needs addressing.
The names were established before the toys came out, and the toys were released before the TV show started. Frenzy and Lazerbeak were the 3 and 4 toys I got, Frenzy was Blue, like almost every edition of him. Thus I support FIBRIR. The animators stated they screwed it up, and the Japanese release corrected it for their run. If you want to believe for your personal collection that FIRRIB as zfeakye has done then go ahead, and I support anyone who wants to treat things that way, but don't try to support a stance using flawed information.
Check here. Please note the table listing the color appearances in order and note the Cartoon is the fourth on the list, and that beyond the cartoon, 'Blue' Rumble only shows up in a side comic and a cartoon inspired statue.
Editor wrote:I am not trying to be an ass here, but if your argument is based on stuff you've read then you might want to go back and recheck some of the wording. I do understand where you are coming from but allow me to try and expand using known facts. The course of events follows pretty much like this:
-- Original toys come out in Japan under their respected original brands. These were not characters but vehicles and tools.
-- Hasbro in partnership with Takara acquires the rights to some of their properties for use outside of Japan and assembles from those various items, their new line in development. While the majority of molds came from Takara, some came from other licenses, that Hasbro also acquired.
-- Hasbro knowing they need a story and a way to use these properties, enter into sessions with talent at Marvel Comics. (much as they had done with G.I.Joe) In these sessions, the creative talent came up with the basis for the original conflict, who was on which side, what their personalities were, cybertron and why were they coming to earth, the whole works. and discussions for Marvel to produce comics and with their parnership with Sunbow to produce the cartoon.
-- Once things moved beyond concept and into preperations for the launch of the Transformers brand, Hasbro started to produce the original art, packaging, ad spots, and such. For the characters in question the Blue Robot was packaged with the Red Condor sporting the names Frenzy and Laserbeak. The Red robot was packaged with a Black Panther sporting the names Rumble and Ravage.
-- Early 1984. The toys are released. FIBRIR
-- May 8, 1984. The first issue of the Transformers mini series from Marvel Comics is released. Working from the concepts from the original meetings they follow FIBRIR.
-- September 17, 1984. Where the whole debate starts. The first episode of the G1 Cartoon is aired. Due to a mistake, the animators miscolor Rumble. hence RIBFIR.
-- 1985. Takara seeing the success Hasbro has had, re-releases their items under the Transformers banner. The Red Robot is dubbed Rumble (or Ramble) while the Blue is Frenzy. The cartoon is dubbed and edited for Japan under the title Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers. They follow the original production bibles, and Frenzy is the robot of choice while Rumble shows up once in a while.
All thru this from 1984 to today, Hasbro has always maintained Rumble was the Red and Black Robot while Frenzy is the Blue shaded one. Every toy produced by both Hasbro and Takara have followed FIBRIR, from re-issues to Alternators and Robot Heroes. That is pretty frakin' permanent.
Once again, if you personally feel Rumble is Blue, that's fine. But if you want to argue the facts, well the details are available, and facts don't lie.
