Sorry this is a late reply.
When I have a stress mark like that, especially with a crack or rip in it, I use a coat of Krazy Glue, but you have to use very little, be very precise and get the glue that come with the brush. You have no idea how much that little brush helps.
I did leave some alone once and then the ball socket of my G2 Roadpig....on both arms snapped, luckily I was able to fix them, but still if I would have just added a coat of glue before hand they might not have snapped.
As a side note I have done the same to some figures affected with GPS, and so far so good, my G2 Electo is still intact. Sometimes on them I use a coat of clear nail polish as I don't want to risk Krazy Glue in some places.
NOTE......the glue depending on how it is applied will not always look pretty, but it is better then a broken piece. One time on a figure it did make it look even cooler, almost like battle damage, but that does not always happen.
