Seriously? They didn't change Galvatron's head when everyone was sooo sure they would. They AREN'T altering they're headmaster gimmick, there is nothing to support the idea that they are or will. The best they could do is swap out the sh|t greige (grey-beige) plastic on hasbro's pmop for something much nicer looking, and they may not even release sentinel.

And what department of takara do you work in?

I don't have to work for them to see a clear pattern. They didn't change Blurr, they didn't change Scourge, they didn't change Blaster, and they didn't change Galvatron - all of whom people swore that TT would alter as to facilitate a 'proper' head, and yet, here we are, so what evidence is there that they will?

I wouldn't argue with him, he'll probably report you for "abuse" best to just ignore him.

In other, more topical matters the only one that sticks out to me is blaster. Hasbro rewind is much better, fort max kinda disappointed me, weirdwolf is about the same and while wheelie looks a bit better but not enough to make me import.

I just noticed Takara Wheelie's hands and forearms are the same orange as the rest of the arms, while Hasbro casts it in white for a bit of breakup. Which is weird, because it's usually the opposite problem - Hasbro casting the arms in the same colour and Takara fixing it, like Onslaught or something.
That's gearing me more towards the Hasbro version tbh.

Honestly, I see that as kinda likely considering the extent they've gone for the deluxe headmasters so far, and even Rewind. A new head would be a really big selling point.

Prowl4: I'm not sure Japan will get sentinel, it's far more likely they'll get astrotrain though. Evidence seems to suggest however that they'll be keeping their titanmaster mechanics as we've seen that they've not changed galvatron and blurr so they've just gave them cartoon accurate decos. Powermaster prime will be along before too long as well but as Super Ginrai, unless the rumours about a deluxe godbomber are true and they wait so they can release God Ginrai In all his glory (then make a translucent orange one as a lucky draw prize to represent fire guts god Ginrai)

They can, and might there was one for Metroplex, and there's one for scorponok, but they (specifically Utopia - 'not metroplex') is really expensive and heavy, shipping costs would be painful

Based on your images, the Hb version has a prominent cross on his forehead/brow while the TT has that white rectangle. Only quirk I don't like in the TT version. Otherwise it looks

You want a Takara statement, I'll give you one. At BotCon 2016, Japanese writer and artist Hayato Sakamoto announced that he would be using the Legends manga to tell the story of how Blaster, Blurr, and all the others become Headmasters, and how the preexisting Headmasters like Chromedome all get new bodies (still-Headmaster ones, though), in the Japanese G1 cartoon continuity.

If he's going to be using pack-in manga that is meant to advertise toys to tell this story, then it stands to reason that every Titans Return mold that Takara releases in the Legends line will retain the same Headmaster-based gimmick that they have in their Hasbro releases.

Additionally, Sakamoto's affiliation with the Legends toyline runs deeper than simply writing/drawing its fiction, as it was he who chose Alpha Trion to be the character that TakaraTomy would change Ultra Magnus's Minimus Ambus figure into.

Also, I wanted to point out that we dont have a decent actual shot of what Hasbro's final deco looks like. His hands are blue, for one, and there are a ton of stickers to give some extra detail. The one I posted above and that Logan used is the best we have but it still isnt fully accurate. Here is a look at Hasbro's finished version for people to get an idea when comparing to takara:

Though, both Cancer and Legends Nightbeat appear to have retained the same faces as Crashbash and TR Nightbeat, so it's possible Goshooter still has Loudmouth's face (which does look fairly accurate to Goshooter as well) if the pattern continues.

Do you think it's possible that the two Hasbro ones we're being shown - I'll just call them normal max and blue-handed max - are just different variants they have coming out? Like, maybe the normal one is mass retail and the blue-handed one is SDCC or vice versa.

As soon as I saw these pictures I went and ordered Takara Tomy's Fort Max off TFSource (should be considerably cheaper between them and any exporter after shipping). I was never really sold on the look of the Hasbro version, it felt a little too busy, but I love that the TT version is so G1 toy accurate. All the way down to the red wheel in his chest and the red "doors" on his forearms he looks even less like a Metroplex retool than the Hasbro version. Totally sold on this one. The SDCC version would have to be amazing (and have no freak'n chrome!) for me to change my mind.

Wheelie fixed all of my issues from the Hasbro version. I didn't like the smokey window or lack of gray paint details, but the clear window fixed the issue in both mode, especially allowing his cartoon accurate chest details to be shown through.

Getting Rewind, too, but I might also get the Hasbro version since it represents something different like Shockwave, not just poorly painted.
