I wouldn't count on it. The lighting in these kinds of images are usually over-saturated, giving the colors a bright neon tint from how they really look.Rated X wrote:Hard to tell but it looks like Shockwave will gwt that G1 cartoon accurate purple we need. You could be right. But Im gonna go off the fact that this image is missing the redish tint that you would get if you blasted the Hasbro version with excess light. This one seems to have a bluish tint instead. And if they go for the chrome like the other Takara FOC figures have, the mix of silver and purple paint would only lighten the purple. If not ill be sure to cancel my pre-order.
On the mini-con - I dont hate the little guys, but Im planning on using this as a classics Shockwave with the wings flipped down. Not as FOC/TF Prime or whatever Has/Tak intended this mold to be used for. No mini-cons needed for a classics shelf.

What will you use as his arm/hand cannon?
Not the Takara version. His Arms Micron is the cannon, which you said you won't use.Rated X wrote:He comes with a cannon that can be used on either hand.

So without the Micron, Shockwave is weaponless, plus has a rather empty hull in vehicle mode.
If you look at the Takara figure pic, you can see that the micron tranforms into his arm cannon and attaches to both his robot mode arm and his vehicle mode in the same ways as the Hasbro arm cannon accessory. The Micron is his cannon for both modes, and without it, he's "disarmed", so to speak.Rated X wrote:JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Not the Takara version. Is this confirmed by Takara in writing or just speculation based on a picture that doesnt show the cannon ? I own the Hasbro version. I only transformed it once, but in my opinion the cannon is an essential part of the alt mode, even if it is removable. It doesnt sound like a piece that can be just excluded, especially at a higher price. If you are right, at least I got the Hasbro cannon to make him look G1.

Rated X wrote:I dont think you guys are looking at what Im looking at. Im not looking at any grey or black parts. Im looking at the part in alt mode that is purple that is quite clearly the cannon which Hasbro had molded in grey. You know, the thing thats shaped like the letter "Y" which is the front of the cannon. Look clearly it's right there in purple, so its not part of the Micron. The Micron has the same thing (minus one of the three portions) but in black. Like I said before...Myth Busted.

Those are the heel parts I was talking about! In alt mode they slide in front of the barrel:
Next time, actually consider the fact you may be wrong, and investigate what others are saying.
