While I applaud Takara for trying to give Grand Galvatron his arm cannon with what they had to work with, it doesn't look very imposing. I am sure somebody is salivating and already hard at work on a proper combiner sized arm cannon.

I tried this when the monochrome pic was released. Put skydive into arm mode, remove the shield thing, and attach the cannon to skydives hand pointing towards the elbow; It doesn't fix the, erm, girth width of the cannon, but it does make it look tidier.

To me, I can imagine the narrower barrel of Galvatron's cannon meaning that its laserfire is now more concentrated, more precise, and more lethal, able to penetrate thicker layers of armor plating more than ever before. Sure, the diameter of the laser might not be as impressively huge, but the end result could now be more like the Death Star's laser: small and unconvincing but destructively deadly nonetheless.

I am in awe of what TT have done here. They have really set their bar high for their next line (whatever they dub the titan returns line)

I thought Starscream had the FoC seeker head at first, but I guess it is new. It looks slightly better as far as I can tell. I just question the need to make a whole new head sculpt when it's so close to an existing one.

This is a Takaratomymall exclusive with no limits which means that anyone outside japan will be getting this combiner through an eventual Hasbro Asia release which your favourite online retailer will most likely be carrying. As tradition goes, that version will be slightly more expensive but also come with a coin, which this TTMall exclusive does not have. Be on the lookout on your favourite retailers for when the Hasbro Asia version will be available.

So, what do you think of this combiner. Are you excited or let down? Which figure do you like best? Is he worth the likely premium? Let us know on the boards!

I'm no plastics expert, as some people here seem to be or claim to be, but I'm not sure that a translucent combiner peg would end up being the most durable piece. I think it would look awesome, but it would probably stress pretty easily.
Last Christmas my wife got me Infiltrator Starscream, the translucnet FoC Starscream. I put his forearm guns in the holes one time and it looked like the plastic was starting to stress, so I never did that again. I imagine a moving joint that rubs against other solid parts would be worse for the wear.

But, to your actual point, it would look excellent. Sorry if I was too serious about it.

Good eye Dagon! I was trying to figure out why it was yellow. Didn't even occur to me it was the cockpit. Probably can't cast that part in translucent plastic because it needs to be of softer plastic to withstand the riggers of play. But clear would have looked dope.

I'm glad they didn't just leave it as grey or black or whatever color that peg is on the retail figure, because that would have looked like junk. More a Hasbro move than a TT one....

I know that, according to BBTS, this won't be an actual concern until April, but I've already caught myself thinking about whether I'd combine the figures or not. I do like all of them separately, and I do like the combined mode.
But Ghost Starscreams aren't meant to be part of anything or anyONE.

I figure we can say it's solid because it's his Super-Magical Spark Transition Chamber Whatever (TM), without which, a ghost can't combine with a corporeal gestalt.
