Walt Disney, Chuck Jones, and Don Bluth would all like to have a word with you...

It says "Created by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko" right on the title card. That should have tipped you off.

Walt Disney was good at what he did, but today's disney has all but whored itself out to CGI.

Dont know about the other two, have to look them up. I've probably seen their works.

I dont know who Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko are, but i dont usually read credits, beginning or end. I dont see a point, unless I want to know an actor.

On the topic of animation, ide love to see another stopmotion Tim Burten film...

The only Tim Burten film coming out soon is "Dark Shadows" and I dont know WHAT to think.

The Last Airbender was one of the greatest shows I've watched. The Legend of Korra is just as good. And I haven't heard, but I'm assuming they're not going to make a second movie which I feel is awesome. They butchered the book 1 movie. I know Shyamalan wanted it to feel authentic, but that's how it was butchered. And I also suggest you watch the new Thundercats show. It kinda gives out the same feel as Avatar gives out.

Plus so far I think it's just like what He-Man 200X and TMNT 200X where, better than the original.

I just love my fantasy with a high tech sci-fi past. I think it was Kyouryuu Boukenki Jura Tripper that awakened my apatite for such a mix.

It's about these kids that somehow end up sailing their boat through a portal into a world in which humans and Dinosaurs coexist (well as in there are humans and Dinosaurs aren't extinct) in a somewhat medieval/ sword and sourcery fantasy world. The kids try to get back home and somehow manage to piss off the bad guys, throughout the series there are hints that there is more to the world than what you might think, plus a bad-ass twist ending!
I used to watch this every day back when it was on TV.

To be honest, I've only watch a few episodes of the original. The new one takes place before that though because everybody's younger and stuff. Or this could just be different in general. Whatever. And no, there's nothing to understand except maybe the people are animal/people mixed.

It's a remake/ reboot sort of deal, the only way the original can come in handy is to get injokes and a few easter eggs or well, minimal spoilers to characters true intentions.

It's just a shame the quality sucks so much compared the the German dub uploads on youtube.

I need more shows similar to this.

Well it's my first official visit to a thread here on Seibertron that is not Transformers so I could use the break. :P I would like everyone's views on the Marvel anime's that came out a while ago. I remember seeing promo's from Comic-Con and they did look good but are they worth the time to watch or are they moderate and to each their own?

I've read a few reviews on Amazon but it's just not enough. I hope to get some good feedback here, thanks everyone! :VEHI:

I gave my opinion on all of them pages ago.
TulioDude wrote:Marvel's anime are pretty awesome!

Here is my view on some of them:

-Iron Man:This anime is mostly episodic series, with each episode contributing a little to larger story, that is finished in the last two episodes.Pretty good to watch. :PEACE:

-Wolverine:The action scenes are pretty solid and fun.The story is good but sometimes it looses focus.Pretty cool! 8)

-Blade:I haven't watched it yet.

-X-men:Pretty interresting story,it really show the X-men as a team and you really feel a their emotions as you're watching.Character development is great.Wolverine is fun while also being a badass. This feels more tied together than the others anime(s).Very worth to watch. ;)^

By the way,the trailers for Iron Man and Wolverine have almost nothing to do with the actual anime.

There an anime convention comming up where i live,i think i will buy the Blade anime DVD.Anyone have some suggestions of what to watch?

Another one I just thought about, Gungrave.
I bought the first DVD containing 4 episodes once for cheaps.
While the first episode is kinda crap it gets much better with the second and had me hooked by episode 4. Nice slow pacing with good characters, intriguing mystery, action here and there and really nice visuals.
Can't tell you if it stays that good after episode 4 though, never managed to get the rest of the series, but hey I now have a fast internet connection!

I remember playing Gungrave. It was alright. Watching the "new" Toonami sunday, I was introduced to Deadman Wonderland. Not bad. Not bad at all. Casshern Sins was on Netflix for a while so I already watched that. It was awesome. But after watching the first episode of DW, I looked up other episodes (english subbed) and the show is pretty good. And no BP, I haven't seen that FMA movie about using a different type of alchemy. Is it alchemy without equivalent exchange?

Everyone has theories but there's nothing to really go on. Usually it's contradicted by something stated in the show itself, or by one of the writers. (For the record, Zuko is still alive, he's an ambassador for the Fire Nation, and his daughter is the current Fire Lord)

My crazy theory is him being Firelord Ozai. There are alot of reasons I think this, but I don't know if he's dead or not. If he's alive still, he'd be REALLY old, so I doubt he'd be able to move that quickly, but seeing how he moved in the last airbender, and how Zuko's uncle was so old, yet so powerful, it's not that far of a stretch athletically.

My main reasons for the theory are as such:

1. What Zuko said. Something along the lines of Banishment had changed him, so maybe time in here will change you, so maybe he DID change? Aang let him out, only to discover he had the same power.

2. The reason Why he would have the same power? If you recall the scene were Aang used it on him, he almost overpowered him, possibly getting inside his head. Amon said "The spirits spoke to him"

3. When Korra gets knocked out, you see in several cases that she sees visions of the avatar and his friends readying themselves to fight what looks like a long haired old man.

4. His "Anti Bending" Beliefs could have sprued from being a non-bender for so long. He could have grown to hate other bender's powers, since he now has none, but was once so powerful.

5. His cover story about the fire nation taking his life and face can be figures of speech. It was kind of true, his nephew and brother "betrayed" him, and sealed him away and replaced hm as firelord, hence "Taking his face".

I may be over-analyzing, in fact, I AM, and I know I'm dead wrong. I have to be. But it's a fun idea to play with, and nobody has proven me out of line yet. I think it's a good theory.

I hope it's not him, but seeing as how Aang died an early death due to being alive in that iceburge for 100 years, the next avatar was born pretty early, so it's still not much of a stretch, seeing as how Firelord Ozai wasnt that old when Aang defeated him.

But the first episode of Korra directly contradicts that in every way. A massive hole in the story IMO, so I guess they just got rid of that part of the plot so this story can take place in a more modern era...

Its amazing how that perfectly fits the song. Lagann is the best mech ever. But of coarse you need fighting spirit to power it though. I actually just re-watched Gurren Lagann and JUST finished the last episode like 5 minutes ago. That anime is pretty much 1 really long motivational speech.

Yeah, I wanted to buy the revoltech figures. I can get Enki, and Gurren Lagann relatively cheap, its the one I want, Lazengaan that has become a rare gem. Iv'e seen him go for as high as $150.00, while the other two are like, 35 at most? so it seams he's really sought after, same with the Viral mecha's final form with four arms. It's pretty scarce a piece. I wish they would have just made ONE Viral revoltech figure, with all the interchangable parts to make him into all three versions of himself, that way it wouldnt be so frikkin hard to choose wich one I want more.

And then there's like, 6 versions of frikkin gurren lagann himself, ranging from Lagann and Gurren, to Gurren Lagann, to Full drillized Gurren Lagann, to Arc Gurren, to Super Galaxy Dai Gurren, to Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. And they are all roughly the same size, wich makes no sense.

I wish they would make them to scale. Have the regular Gurren Lagann the size of a small GI Joe, Arc Gurren can be like, Voyager transformer sized, and actually transformable. Super Galaxy dai Gurren can be Unicron-ish in size, and also transformable. TTGL would be like Fort Max'd. And they all fit inside eachother like in the show. That would be awesome. And sell all the little gunman on the side, and have them fold up and store in compartments on TTGL. It can be done, but it never will. Plus then you would need a massive antispiral king to fight...

But yeah, the revoltech figures look like awesome display pieces, regardless.

BeastProwl wrote:I hope it's not him, but seeing as how Aang died an early death due to being alive in that iceburge for 100 years, the next avatar was born pretty early, so it's still not much of a stretch, seeing as how Firelord Ozai wasnt that old when Aang defeated him.

Aang died at 65, which is a fairly common thing, especially in a civilization that lacks our modern medical sciences. Ozai would have been somewhere in his 40s by the time Aang defeated him, making him at least 110 by the time Korra faces Amon.

BeastProwl wrote:But the first episode of Korra directly contradicts that in every way. A massive hole in the story IMO, so I guess they just got rid of that part of the plot so this story can take place in a more modern era...

...got rid of what part of the plot? The one you made up?

I though this wasn't going to become an Avatar thread...
