THE DIGIBASH THREAD

Got a great pic of G1 Op or BW Megs? Whether it's 2-D or 3-D it's welcome as is any other form of art outside the custom figure world.

Oh,don't get me wrong,i didn't mean they were inaccurate, they're cool,
i just ment the saturation is a bit rushed.

'Course the Turbomasters weren't actually G2, but that's beside the point.

Nice work; they fit the moulds well. I agree with Rhinox in that the saturation's a bit off on Boss and Flash; the colours don't look quite strong enough for the characters. But they're good re-imaginings of the originals, and they'd go nicely with your Axelerators. So what's next, the Illuminators/Laser Rods? Lightformers? :D

Thanks - and good thought, A-Shade! With the bonnet on the shoulders he's already got a head-start transformation-wise, and I think the movie (Voyager) Ironhide would be about the right sort of scale, too. He's even got a hint of Clench's firepower, too...

You're not 'hijacking'; this thread's meant for anyone with a digibash to share.

Nice work, it fits really nicely. I can think of just two mods that you might make to improve the G1 feel:
1) Trim down the 'horns'. They look a bit too Batman on this version.
2) I think the blue bonnet is a bit much. Two ways round it that I think would help - either trim down the blue section to about half (or possibly a smidge less) the width of the bonnet, or go with a darker (more of a navy) blue, which I think could cover the whole bonnet. With the blue that bright, it's a bit eye-gouging, but a darker one would be a lot more pleasing, and would contrast better with the lighter base colour.

Or, you could always do both, which I think would be brilliant.

Actually, the wide bonnet idea came from this

http://comicsnewsi.net//g/albums/Marvel ... 001020.jpg

I dont think it looks that bad, personally, I might consider adding the faction symbol though. Its just too bad we cant see the rest of his design in that pic. do you guys think I should add some stripping on the sides are no?

Hmm, looking at that it works better. I think what's putting me off is the sheer brightness of the blue on the 'bash; but that's probably because it's basically pure blue light, in real life it'd probably work better. I still think it could do with being a hair darker, though.

Some kind of side detailing would be good, I think. Either a number, or a go-faster stripe; maybe bonnet-coloured doors would work? I'm not sure about that one.

Knyghtmare - I like the new paint apps on Jazz's bot mode (knees and chest), but kinda miss the red stripe.

Divebomb - Interesting using multiple bots that don't combine, and making them look like the same bot (same head and colors), as opposed to G1 where he was three different bots that combined into one alt mode. I love it. Reminds me of the Generic Decepticon clones from the G1 cartoon.
till all are one.

Pirate Jetfire and Classics Hotshot

Postby J.T.Silversmith » Tue May 29, 2007 7:23 pm

Here are a couple of Digibashes I did just for fun. I thought it would only be fair with the number of Cybertron Hotshots repainted as Hotrod that someone should repaint Classics Hotrod into Hotshot. Turnabout is fair play!
Image
I did his car mode as well.
My next Digibash has a kind of amusing story, so I thought I would pass it along. My Classics Jetfire got hit in the nose, and it split open and snapped off two of the head lasers on his helmet, and I had just completed the repairs, and for the fun of it I had pulled all my other Jetfire toys out as well as my Yamato 1/48th scale Focker type VF-1S Valkyrie toy, and was looking at all of them. My 4 year old son comes in and I showed him the VF-1S and he says "It's Pirate Jetfire!" So I thought why not? It's about time this paintscheme was used for a Transformer. So I present Pirate (Hunter) Jetfire.
Image
Jet mode
Here is a quick Bio for him."After being re-awakened on Earth, Jetfire learned some old enemies, the Pirates of the Blot Nebula had returned. Jetfire traded his trademark red and black paint job for a colorscheme based on that of a human fighter squadron of F-14's (the jet is current alt mode is based on.) The alternate colors and skull and crossbones emblems would make it easier to infiltrate and disrupt this pirate menace from the inside."

Motto: "Vampires don't *sparkle*. They burn!"
This is a digibash of a repaint project I will be starting hopefully sometime next week. I just ordered the Decepticon 3-pack that has "Oil Slick" (the muscle car). Got it for a steal on ebay. ($4.94, shipping included!) He's not the exact model for the General Lee, but he's close enough. I'll post the progress pics as soon as it is started. For now, I hope you enjoy the digibash version.
