So far actually reading the books is easier on the brain.

I have been contemplating on picking a couple of them up.
Did you see the pix of my little one in her Tardis shirt?

I can scrounge up the list of books involved in the Time War if you'd like.

Did you see the pix of my little one in her Tardis shirt?

I did. Nice corruption. :P

Funny really, with all the little things I like, Transformers, Dr Who, and a whole bunch of other things the only shirt I have to symbolise my "fanboyness" is a bright yellow Goodies shirt which I refuse to wear because it accentuates my stomach.

The answer I got when I asked over at Outpost Gallifrey ...

Alien Bodies
Unnatural History
Interference books 1&2
The Blue Angel
The Taking Of Planet 5
the Shadows of Avalon
The Banquo Legacy
The Ancestor Cell

[At this point the Faction Paradox line carries on as if the events at the end of the last book didn't happen so thats:
The Book Of The War
This Town Will never Let Us Go
Of The City Of The Saved
Warlords of Utopia
Warring States
Erasing Sherlock]

And to tie it all up

The Gallifrey Chronicles

I'm about halfway through Alien Bodies, and even though he only appeared in the movie, I can really envision Paul McGann in this story.

I kept forgetting to post this ....

Dr Who cooler than Fonzie
24's unstoppable counter-terrorist agent Jack Bauer has finally been defeated... by Doctor Who.

The latest incarnation of the Time Lord (played by David Tennant) has been voted the coolest character on television in a poll conducted by the magazine Radio Times. Jack Bauer (Keifer Sutherland) ranked second.

More than 4000 couch potatoes voted in the poll for radiotimes.com, which set out to find the small screen's coolest character - "cool" being defined as laidback and sexy. Strangely, not a single female character made the top 10.

Almost three decades after Happy Days aired it seems the Fonz (Henry Winkler) hasn't lost his cool, with the leather jacket-wearing mechanic polling third.

Mr Darcy, as played by Colin Firth in the BBC's adaptation of the Jane Austen classic Pride and Prejudice, came in fourth, followed by Cat (Danny John-Jules) from the sci-fi comedy Red Dwarf.

The poll's UK slant accounts for two of its choices: in seventh place came British Big Brother presenter Dermot O'Leary, the only non-fiction "character" to make the list; and in ninth place was The Magic Roundabout rabbit Dylan, the only animated character.

Rounding out the top 10 was DCI Gene Hunt (Philip Glenister) from time-travelling police drama Life on Mars, who polled sixth; Peter Falk's detective Columbo, in eight place; and Lost con man Sawyer (Josh Holloway), who ranked 10th.

Now I don't care if you're a time and space travelling demi-God. You do NOT piss Jack Bauer off and expect to live. That's a man who can kill you 12 ways from Sunday. And last I checked our favourite little Time Lord had only 2 regenerations left. :P

I still can't believe they both beat out The Fonz and The Cat. Apparently great fashion sense wasn't a factor. :P

Weapon: Venom Blaster
I finally got around to watching ep 1 or season 3. I quite enjoyed it. I'm another Yank Whovian. When I was a tot in the 80's, PBS was running lots of Tom Baker episodes (there were many to run.) When I was in my tweens, in the early 90's, PBS did the most frakking awesome thing ever: they ran every episode of Doctor Who that wasn't lost or destroyed at that point. IN ORDER! It was about a season a week, like a Who midnight marathon every week for... good gawds it was awsome. That cynched it. My best friend, who really got me into the who thing, and I would also rip apart old electronics and pretend we had a TARDIS of our own. We were right on the trailing edge of childhood, and that time contains some of my fondest memories.

As for the Saxon thing, I did notice it in this ep before reading the posts, but I forgot all about the Christmas episode. I wonder how the Master survived this time...

As for Torchwood, I sorta fell out of interest in that thing on the 3rd or 4th episode. It just lacked the magic for me. Every time I see the sonic screwdriver, or the TARDIS dematerialize, or someone discover the Doctor's double heartbeat, I get all aflutter. Actors and actresses will come and go, but somehow they've kept the magic alive for a few more years.

Three left... still not good odds against getting killed 12 ways ;) On a side note, sometimes I wonder if the Doctor's supposed half-human physiology would allow him to regenerate beyond the 12 regeneration limit. That would be quite an interesting way to keep the show going several years down the road.

I got the story "The Mind Robber" the other day on DVD. Loved it! It's a shame that so many of Troughton's stories are lost, because he's a lot of fun in the role of the Doctor. I've ordered "Carnival of Monsters" next... not sure what to get after that, but I was thinking maybe "The Aztecs" or "Vengeance on Varos."

I order from this store online: http://www.deepdiscount.com
They have a free shipping option, which usually takes a week or so to arrive when they ship it out. I've had a few packages with free shipping delayed for almost a month, though I blame that on the USPS.

Depends on how much of history they're going to acknowledge.

Technically he was suppose to have been consumed by the Tardis. You could theorise that when Rose released the energy to wipe out the Daleks she also released The Master.

Of course it's never been explained if that actually is the same Tardis or whether it's a new one.

I think Davies said in one of those confidential documentaries that it was the same tardis. It had just undergone a major refit. Possibly due to the Time War?

I enjoyed the most recent one. J.K Rowling to the rescue.

Also, first it was Queen Victoria, and now there's something with Queen Elizabeth I. The Doctor sure has a way with royalty doesn't he?

Enjoyable in some spots (especially the Rowling references) but not as good as last week's.

Next three weeks should be fun. Back to New New York and his final meeting with The Face of Boe and then the first two parter of the series with the return of Sek! (At least it's suppose to be Dalek time then)

I thought it was an average ep. Not as good as last week. And I wish the doc would stop moping about Rose.

I heard there was a four parter in this series. And it was the second ep when you know who would reappear and last through to the fourth part. Should be better next week.

ok i've watched it twice now and i couldnt see any reference to "saxon" did anybody else??

also im gonna add yet another mad idea here about how the master gets out.

the carrionites mentioned "grief of a genius let us out" and what is the doctor if not a genius?? maybe the tardis reacted to his grief and lonlyness and let the master out?

mah! im just adding random ideas here in the hope at least one of them is right.

Well it was Shakespeare's grief over his sons that let them out and I doubt how they were trapped would apply to The Master.

I also doubt the "old girl" would be silly enough to let him out after all the troubles he's given The Doctor.

But who knows. It's possible.

Something I found of interest.

When they first arrived Martha asked The Doctor what would happen if she was to travel back in time and kill her grandfather.

The Doctor never really gave her a response. Why? It's something from the novels. Simply called "the paradox". Apparently it's driven a number of Time Lords insane because if you kill your grandfather, you cease to exist. But if you cease to exist then you cannot kill your grandfather. So if you can't kill your grandfather then you must then exist, and if you exist then you kill your grandfather etc etc.

Of course there are those who embrace such things and they became "The Faction Paradox", stole technology from the Time Lords and made their life a living hell. I highly recommend picking up those books I posted a while back for a read.

Oh, of course it's the same TARDIS- he's got so much of an emotional attachment to it, and it behaves in the same way and has the same form (Mind you, we know it's just for preference...)

The Doc re-arranges the inside of the TARDIS regularly, remember? It's had quite a few looks. Wouldn't surprise me if there's an 'inner chameleon circuit' at all.

Adored the last episode- found it better than the first. I still think it's perfectly acceptable for the Doctor to be mourning a loved one, especially since he's got a new assistant making things difficult and reminding him of what

Actually no.

The Doctor could rarely perform pinpoint accurate landings in the old series, whereas in this series he's done it numerous times. AND, he actually ends up where he wants to go on a regular basis.
