It's actually somewhat common in fiction for things to work like that, freeing the people held captive by a spell by taking out the guy casting it. I suppose Dark Energon had something to do with it as well.

Same reason why every con in Chicago got sucked into the space bridge at the end of DOTM, when the pillars/Sentinel were destroyed.

Exactly. Or like in FEAR, where after you kill Paxton Fettel, all of the Replicas he's controlling shut down.

Point is, it is a bit on the convenient side, but it's a fairly commonly-used thing. Also, what would you have them do? Stay in stasis for the rest of the series?

It did, though. It was just tied to Trypticon because Dark Energon is just wacky sometimes.

I Felt like this episode had lackluster writing, but it was good all the same. It just felt a bit rushed.

Yeah. I didn't care for it as much as I felt I could have if they had gone another direction with it.

Episode 38 -

Looks like both sides are gonna split up their teammates to go after all four relics at once. The 'Bots are gonna be spread preeeetty thin going that route, so any them actually getting any of the relics has gotta be nothing short of a miracle (since they'll be so outnumbered and outgunned when spread so thin).

BANANA FISH!

How on Earth did both Arcee and Bumblebee manage to fit through that narrow corridor?

I wonder if Vogel's gonna be another one-off character, or if we'll see him again due to his affinity for aliens.

Knock Out, one Insecticon, and three miners. Looks like the Deceps really went for the bare minimum of who's going after this relic. So much for the 'Bots being outnumbered and outgunned.

Knock Out seems to be flirting with Arcee (or at least, playfully taunting her). Didn't Starscream say that Knock Out was "one of those"? ;)

"Hey, watch the finish!" -- little late for that, Knock Out. :P

The new relic makes its wearer intangible. A "Phase Shifter", as Arcee calls it.

Man, this is the most beat up we've ever seen Knock Out look. He'll be buffing his paint job for weeks. lol

I guess we won't be seen Vogel again anytime soon.

A decent episode. It felt like a mix between the Armada episode where they go into the New York subway tunnels looking for a Mini-Con (and run into Smokescreen), and the first chapter of the Matrix Quest in Marvel G1. In fact, I bet the next few episodes will also have a very Matrix Quest feel to them, what with the 'Bots/'Cons searching in four locations for a sacred relic in each, and possibly culminating in a finishing episode that ties the four relic hunting episodes together. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

You misunderstand. They didn't say that an "Autobot" would die, but that simply a "main character" would die. Breakdown already did. So that casualty, my friend, is already covered.

Confirmed. The next episode focuses on Optimus' side of the story, after that Ratchet and Wheeljack team up, and then I'm assuming the fourth will be Bulkhead. I'd be willing to bet what Fowler was shouting over communications will play a part in one of them.

Not 100% confirmed, as we don't know if there will be one more episode to round up all four searches into a decisive conclusion just as "All Fall Down!" had done in that story arc.

Though, I'd expect this conclusion to be a bit more on the uplifting side with the Autobots not losing everything in the end like how they lost the Matrix to Thunderwing in that story.

They didn't win every time in Animated! The Decepticons where actually a threat in that show! It took all of the Autobots just to take down Starscream and they needed the Allspark to do that! In Prime, it's too damn easy! They shoot a Decepticon once or twice and they run away.

Those Autobots were not warriors or soldiers in Animated. These ones are. There's a difference between the Cons fighting a bunch of inexperienced rookies and politicians, and the Cons fighting well capable soldiers.

"Taking down Starscream was hard" does not equate to "Autobots immediately lose." In fact, I can't think of a single story in Animated (Counting multi-part episodes as a single story) where the Decepticons had a decisive victory in the end that didn't also come at a huge cost.

And oh, hey, look at this, how many times have the Autobots been able to take down any of the major Decepticons? Breakdown constantly gave them a run for their money, Dreadwing just as much, Knockout is a medic he doesn't count, Airachnid was a master of traps and tactical retreats (Only lost because she wasn't watching her step) and Megatron hasn't lost a one-on-one with with any Autobots except for Optimus.

Basically, none of the things you're complaining about are happening, and if they are, it's something every series is guilty of.

*grinning like an idiot*

Okay, we have here yet another great episode.

Fowler is knocked senseless again. Fowler-speak is now officially a running gag.

Jack is once again (seriously I may just have to stop repeating myself) amazing. This time the episode focuses on his people skills. He calmly reasons with Miko over a touchy subject, coming off very Prime like.

>:oP There is this:
Megatron
Starscream
Airachnid
Knockout

The list of Con's who know that Jack has foiled their plans/damaged them personally. Dude is very quickly racking up a long list of dangerous enemies, and they are all big-bads.

Miko is useful and in her element.

Volga.... :lmao: just Volga.

I liked the Bumblebee references from "Sick Mind" the way this series ties everything together is great.

It looks like the next three episodes will each be about retrieving one of the artifacts.

*still grinning*

Pretty good episode. Was nice to see more of Knock Out. Not nice to see his poor sexy paint job ruined :( If I were Vogel, I'd take his lost wheel and make a trophy out of it. It's already mostly gold.

Speaking of Vogel: JOHN FREAKIN DIMAGGIO!!! WOOOHH!!! Hope we see more of him. And could that last frame possibly foreshadow a train bot? Possibly? Too far-fetched? Who knows.

Now it's another week until another Optimus-centric 'sode, then another week until RATCHET, WHEELJACK AND SOUNDWAVE AWW YEEEAAAHHH

I'm actually looking forward to this one since it's also a Dreadwing and Starscream episode too. Both characters have shown shades of gray in their personalities, and since the episode is supposed to deal with Optimus forging alliances with his enemies, this can only be filled with great character development for both Seekers (though, I'm expecting more for Dreadwing than I am Starscream, since Dreadwing and Optimus seem to hold a certain level of respect for each other).

Kinda boring I felt...I do like the Armada feel of collecting with the relics, and Knock Out is always awesome.

The way the last episode ended with the ship over Manhattan had me geared up for an epic all-out city invasion. Maybe the Avengers got me too excited for something like that....

Still a good episode, but I expect the others to be more exciting. Arcee, BB, and Jack and Miko don't make for an exciting combo. For some reason I was also expecting the relic to give BB a voice or something. I hope the other relics offer better battles/encounters/abilities.

I loled at Vogel's name, it means bird in German and is also used to describe someone who's kinda crazy! :D

A fun episode I loved the way Knock-Out was treated in this episode, him and that Insecticon made a good team :P

Not a bad episode. Fun all around. :D

Not a great day for Knock Out's paint job. Though I gotta say, that sleeper train is pretty tough, ramming Knock Out *twice* and having minimal structural damage (if you consider losing your brakes "minor."

Not surprising Miko's still fuming about Jack going off to Cybertron in the premiere. She always throws a tantrum about missing out on anything she considers "cool," although, like Jack, I find it somewhat surprising that she's been fuming silently on it, rather than complaining loudly like she usually does.

there is something seriously wrong with miko's fight or flight response, and the more I see of her the less I want to. she seems to have no long lasting character development(I know a few others are the same, however none of them seem to be suicidaly stupid), the miko from episode 1 is the one we have in 39, and it is getting boring.....miko runs off gets into trouble......rinse and repeat.

man those fully energized insecticons are tough. they must have shot the thing a hundred times and it had no apparent damage. it also appeared to creep out knock out.

Knock Out!!!

Though the autobots keep winning, I like at least that the decepticons get to kick a little butt before they screw up. The animation in this one was especially good too, I thought.

Interesting to see Knock Out get run down from behind by Bumblebee. Must be the residual Animated in him - guess he still is the fastest thing on wheels!
