So, a while back I snagged the original Transformers movie on the original release tape (where they cut out the "Oh ****" part) for a few bucks.
Recently, I looked at the new price guide, and it was listed as worth $80.00.
My question is, is this even remotely plausible, or do I just beleive too much of what I read?

Yer kidding, right? I picked up the VHS version of the movie about 12 yrs ago..the edited one...for like $5....and yer saying they're asking $80 for it now?? *falls outta chair!*
Sadly, I didn't buy the book, but I'll look for some if you can't find it.
I need to verify!

I nver sell anything Transformers, unless I have triples.Magnus' Mate wrote:So don't go planning how you'll spend your new $80 yet
Actually, wheteher or not you choose to beleive me, it is perfectly watchable, not so much as even static.~Windcharger~ wrote:I can only guess the quality of an original realease VHS tape by now. Definately not worth $80. I have a re-issue VHS I got in 1996 or so that is hardly even watchable now.
That's why I like DVD's. No Tracking to adjust.

Only beef is that you have to rewind it all the time, which isn't anything new for tapes.
~Windcharger~ wrote:That's quite impressive.
I dunno how many mine got before I bought it, but I've only watched it twice, since I have the 20th Anniverary DVD.~Windcharger~ wrote:Still not bad considering it's age. My newer copy has many more flaws than that. Mind you it has been watched around 50-60 times.
