I know right? He doesn't even need the head remolded. Seems like a dream come true for someone like Million Publishing or the Collector Club.ZeroWolf wrote:That looks slick, though I'd never thought about a repaint from the jetfire mold
Well, you could consider FOC Ultra Magnus to be it, even if it's a repaint of Optimus with a new head. That mold work WAY better as UM than OP.Jeen0808 wrote:An original mold deluxe class Ultra Magnus. It's about time.

Why is Combiner Wars Devastator not close enough for you?
Sure, CW Devastator look amazing and will be affordable for what we get, but it's no MP material. Just look at the individual bots and see where the budget cuts were made.
A true MP Devastator would be Herculese but licenced by HasTak.

Is it too much to ask for a mode where the hands and/or head aren't visible? The closest I think I've seen is G1 Scorponok, and even then the hand-claws were visible from the side in base mode. Fort Max might have been a contender in city mode if it wasn't for his non-retracting, non-transforming hands (but the less said about the battlestation mode, the better).
Really, is it so hard on a Titan-class (or even Leader-class) base toy to have the hands and head fold away? It's not as if their altmodes have strict limitations on how they can look. A coherent pile of blocks for a city mode; a vaguely linear or wedge-shaped pile of blocks for a spaceship mode.
Even things like Metroplex's head: would it be so hard to have the sides of his head (including the antennae and sides of his helmet) slide or rotate up and snap together over the top of his head to form a weapons or sensing platform, then have the middle section of the head sink down into his chest? Is a head not allowed to transform unless it fully detaches?

Sadly that was how G1 did it, so if HasTak were to ever try and make the alt modes look decent they'd be bombarded with complaints about how it WASN'T GEEWUN ENUFF!!!! I totally agree though- a cityformer with a decent city mode would be awesome.
-Kanrabat- wrote: I am however, disapointed with Metroplex's city mode. The head could inded be able to hide better and the hands are just unforgivable. How hard was it to just allow the forearms to split open and let le hands go inside, like so many smaller TFs are able to do, for crying out loud?

How big would that thing be?

Remember ROTF voyager Stratosphere?
It even come with a transformable micro Optimus as an accessory and to give a nice sense of scale. That OP is even smaller than a minicon!
