Zelda, I do hope you got the X-Over "G1" Pony/Optimus?


On my end, I bought the Pop Up Parade Misaki Shokuhou from A Certain Scientific Railgun and the 3P Bumblebee from Heart Of Steel, SA-01 Sergeant from Mechanic.



Misaki was just 30$CAN at Amazon so I jumped on her. They shipped her in a litteral garbage bag instead of a proper box with padding. Thank god nothing was crushed by some miracle.
To go with her, I had to pay full price for Misaka and import her from BBTS. She's on her way.

What a beauty!



As for Sergeant, I bought it used at my local geek store for the same price as a regular current deluxe Transformers! He's also the same size as a deluxe. He already had a clear on his chest from the previous owner and I had to re-glue the headlights on his legs. Appart the bars things on the sides of the wheels that pop-off from times to times, he was pretty fun to figure out without instructions. The resulting train engine is adorable!





Well worth the money.

Got the Jakks Pacific Ocarina of Time Link (Goron Tunic version) and Zelda action figures in on Monday.



Here's how that Link compares with his ToyBiz predecessor. An upgrade in most respects, although the ToyBiz figure - despite having gimmicky hip joints biased towards a riding posture - has a little bit of an advantage when it comes to hip articulation because the lower part of his tunic doesn't restrict leg movement. Tempted to cut some slits in the Jakks Pacific figure's tunic to mitigate the issue.


Picked this up from the post office yesterday. It's the Marklin version of the Hornby Thomas milk tanker. Was much more reasonable in both price and shipping than getting a straight-up Hornby one. I'll have to change the couplers, but no biggie.

Regarding those Jakks Pacific figures... What's a good source of inexpensive generic 4.5" action figures for customization purposes? I'd like to make some things to go with them.

Walmart had the 4" Flash movie figures on clearance for only $2 each so I got all three Flashes and Batman. Unfortunately they didn't have Supergirl.

Got a few things I haven't posted yet.

From Hasbro Pulse I got my Marvel Legends Crystar figure! I'm only a little familiar with the original toy line, but I really bought this directly from Pulse to show support for the idea of doing more stuff like this that isn't necessarily a Marvel superhero. Give us some ROM or some Marvel owned Transformers characters. I know from interviews during SDCC they're interested in expanding.

AmiAmi's December order arrived:

MODEROID Horizon Forbidden West Thunderjaw Plastic Model - It's about 15" long! I doubt it'll scale well with the statues that came with the game, but it should look good anyway.



Final Fantasy XI Plush Leech - So I started playing FFXI at launch and occasionally go back to it so I've been buying these plushies late. I already have the crab and have a couple others on order, too. I played a Beastmaster so I spent a lot of time with pet leaches and crabs so I feel very connected to these guys. The designs in FFXIV are pretty similar so they're multi purpose.

Young Courtney Cox, great Skeletor, Dolph, the bald guy from everything 80s and a Ron Jeremy version of Orco...what's not to like

TBF I saw it at cinema as a kid and enjoyed it even if I didnt understand why it wasnt like He-man.
True it is no Flash Gordon but it really isnt the JCVD Cyborg film bad either. Better than Highlander? I'm going have to watch one after the other now to see if it even comes close and time might not have been kind.

and now Motu (and begrudgingly crappy kevin smith) have given us three people from They Live as MOTU figures kinda

A scene from the movie that is BURNED into my mind is this:

"Orco" stole a bucket of fried chicken. The heroes eat away and it's good. Teela ask why the food is around weird sticks. Her dad, Man at Arms tell her that it's bird flesh. Teela dump the stick with disgust (and maybe He-Man too if I remember) and she says "In what world of barbarian did we land to?" Her dad answer "We don't ask questions when we are hungry".

I WTF so much at this scene. A scene that I've seen around 35 years ago. And I think I saw the movie only once as a child. And dubbed in French.
Even today I ask myself how in the F a "medieval" world could be 100% vegan to the point that the very idea of eating meat is preposterous? How such people can eat fried chicken without falling horribly sick on the spot?

WHY IS IT THE ONLY SCENE I REMEMBER CLEARLY?

I seriously need to re-watch this. But this time, it will be in the original English.

It's been years since I bought a movie. I could have easily pirated this, but this movie deserved to be bought. The Canadian bilingual DVD is dirt cheap at Amazon so I bought it. Can't wait to see it again!

And then... Something strange.

Colors are a bit 9ff on them or not how I remeber them (egons tie, rays goggles, rays ghost etc). Winston still looks out of scale like the old figure did.

Hopefully granny gross gets some companions and a janine if there is another wave or so to come.

Also the first time I'd seen TMNT Mutatin' Rocksteady and Bebop, the best figures in the series IMO. Picked those two up but didn't see any other new ones. I still need Leo and Raph.

The Jakks' Pacific Sheik action figure has joined my collection. Purchased an unopened one because it was the cheapest complete listing (even with competing bids; it was an auction). Having opened Sheik, I'm very tempted to do some modification because the pelvis is badly designed. The front blocks normal forward movement of the legs, and the sculpted buttocks on the rear block backward movement completely. Jakks seriously needs to release a retooled version.

I've started accruing Masterverse toys, beginning with She-Ra as a birthday gift:

She's very cool.


Next to join my collection Revelations He-Man. Would have preferred 40th or New Eternia, but he was cheapest and this was a splurge buy. A pity he doesn't have the axe, but I can always borrow the one from the Battle Armor or Savage versions once I get either of those. In any case, he certainly goes nicely with Battle Cat (a figure my dad impulse-bought 2 or 3 years ago and which is what tempted me into specifically going for Masterverse stuff).


I also got Hordak with birthday money, since I felt I should have one of She-Ra's opponents as well. He arrived today. He's cool and all, but with him in hand... part of me wishes I'd gone for Catra instead.


This was another gift: an N64 to USB adapter. Should make playing Majora's Mask (among others) on emulator an enjoyable experience instead of hair-pulling.


Not a toy per se, but as a combined birthday and graduation gift.. I finally have a Nintendo Switch! Now I just need to get games for it.


And finally, there's my Airfix Auto Coach. This thing finally arrived on Monday. And PRIMUS ON A POGO STICK was its journey to me ABSOLUTELY CURSED. *twitch*

I won it on December 22nd. But between bad weather, computer issues, and the seller having gotten severely ill over Christmas... It took til the 20th of this month to actually be shipped out. And then when it got to the USA, it took longer to reach me than it should have due to extremely drunk postal routing.

^You aren't behind for buying a Switch now, I'm behind for buying a Wii for the first time in December. I've been on a console moding kick lately (finish my Dreamcast, working on my fat PS2 with the dead disc drive, Wii is next so I can play emulated GameCube, Wii and other Nintendo games on it).

Got my The Gettai SSSS.Gridman movie Galaxy Fighter Gridman and Big Goldburn set from Good Smile Company. Annoyingly I had to order it through the international store, it was never made available through the US store which offers a shipping discount on pre-orders, though I probably shouldn't complain about $18 for 3 day shipping from Japan... How can they do that but Amazon can't?

And the two can connect with my The Gettai Dynazenon to make this awesome upgrade:

A lotta lil bits of gundam a lil bit of a lotta gundam.

I'll probably never find or pay the price for gundam base version of mega size unicorn so this big fella is my go to. Might not be all singing and dancing (nor transforming) but it's the centre price of my unicorn stuff. Glad I got to see it in real life.

Sky gras0er rg, not what I normally collect but it will probably look OK next to the hg gundam even if the bits won't attach.

Slippery slope of wing gundam... Still confusing due to series mecha, series refresh mecha, film redesigns and then the comics/prequels.

Sd chars counter attack, 8 dues in one box. True the film is garbage but 8 dudes in one box! Only thing semi missing would be the gundam colored zaku.

Went a bit crazy on the battlogue - only around 12 models in the set and they are meant to be swapped around like Hasbros mash up thingies and make even worse looking mecha... Yay!? But a red gouff is always good.

Full armor and psycho zaku for the excellent gundam Thunderbolt (well part 1 anyways) is pretty much done and dusted unless I read the maga to see how it ends because anime part 2 doesn't finish the fight.

Transient Glacier gundam just because cool and shiny... When I'm trying to avoid cool and shiny and stick to main suits.

Our physical toy stores selections been pretty bad recently, so I went to smyths and bought nada.

It was nice to actually be able to purchase a wrestling figure in store for a very rare change and def cheaper than buying a neca version even if a bit bare bones.
