But I hope that the new series Transformers: Heroes learn from the mistakes from the past, even though they won't and continue to make a 30-min. toy commercial, like story plot holes(BM), bad dialogue(Armada series), animation mistakes(G1)although not a big issue these days, simple story plots(RID, Armada series), and no more TRANSFORM! before every transformation!. I hope it will be American based or Japanese based rather than Americans trying to be Japanese and failing! Because it hasn't worked in the past!

There that is fixed now.

Why not the Japanese names?
Roadbuster is so more better than Ironhide (Energon) for example.
What about Mudflap? Was Hasbro running out of good names :???:

You're kidding, right? "I'm Roadbuster...I..bust roads...stop laughing!"

Let's not forget such winners as "Inch-Up" "Jackshot" "Landbullet" "Guard Shell" "Back Gild" and..."Liger Jack"? Were they watching Napoleon Dynamite?
Don't worry, they'll come up with even doofier names eventually. "Hello, I'm Roadkill the Autobot." or "I'm Breakwind, a Decepticon Seeker." Ahhh the fun never ends.

Why don't they ever use a lot more Cybertronian-sounding names instead? Jiaxus (sp?) and Xaaron were good ones, they made their guys sound tough. Some of the regular names are very good though, I'm not saying ALL should have Cybertronian names, just a few more so they don't run out of names sooner and then try to make up ones that in reality are stupid.

One thing i always hated was when their alt modes are some totally made up futuristic spaceship/car/drilling platform... its like they run out of real world vehicles and just use ones that dont involve any thought for design.. practically the whole cybertron line comes to mind. It just seems lazy out of the designers to me.

Thats the good thing about the new movie, most of the designs are grounded in real world vehicles which makes you relate to them more and makes them more interesting. It also means that they wont have stupid colour schemes which is another pet peeve of mine.

I somewhat agree with you on that. Depends on which character they are and if there is a reason for having that type of design. For example, Devcon (or Defcon depending on how you spell it) should have the spaceship mode that he has same goes with G1 Cyclonus, Scourge, and the Sweeps. But then I look at G1 Scattershot, Strafe, and Afterburner and go "what the funk?". Don't get me wrong, those three designs are cool-looking but it boggles my mind of why have them when Lightspeed is a car and Nosecone looks like a type of drilling machine that "could" be used on Earth.

Furthermore, there is the reverse of this with the fact that Optimus, Alpha Trion, and the other Autobots present made the Arielbots out of old Cybertronian rockets and turned them into less advance Earth jets/planes. DUH!

People who think that if I don't like a particular movie incarnation such as Megatron and Starscream it is only because I'm some sort of "Die hard G1 fanboy".

What I don't like in the newer shows (Energon, Cybertron):
Transformation/attack animations
- japanese idiotism, since Zone... but why? They take out a lot of time from the shows, make story instead!

Not the very animation of the shows (those could be good, if would be done properly, not the "half head of Optimus Prime is shown when seen"), just the times when Vector Prime transforms five times under 20 mins, and they show every time the same animation, superlinking animations, savage claw attack,...

Im very closeminded about any of the series that came after Generation 1. Furthermore, I cant really say I enjoy many of the episodes (from what I've seen thus far) that came after the original movie. The best episodes were in Seasons 1 - 2. Why do I think this? I cant tolerate Rodimus Prime or many of the newer characters introduced in the movie.

Even Beast Wars?

I agree I'm not at all fond with Armada and everything after it, but you are only into Seasons 1 and 2 of G1. Wow.

I could tolerate Beast Wars. The only thing I could really stand was Waspinator.

I dunno, there was way too much comic relief to it. And it didnt have that mechanical feel to it. The original series was the series that started it all, thats probably why I love it so much.

And from what I've seen of the post-movie series didnt really appeal to me. But I've only seen 10-15 episodes.

Waspinator was my one my favourite characters in BW! BW Megatron was awesome too! Yesssssss......... And for some reason, most people don't like Quickstrike. Is is because he's a wannabe cowboy or something?

Doesn't nessisarily have to BE the same story line, just the same time line.

And that being said Transformers is all the same basic story line. A war between Autobots/Maximals and Decepticons/Predacons/Vehicons.

G1Blaster wrote:I'm assuming you started with G1 like most of us here. You believe G1 to be the real universe for TFs. Fair enough. Just think of all the other universes as one giant Marvel Comics 'What if...?' issue.
I did start with G1 but then I completly forgot about it. Beast Wars reintroduced me to the Transformers after G1 was abruptly ended at the start of Headmasters in the US.

However non of this has anything to do with what you described. I just belive weather I started with G1, RID, or even Cybertron all shows should actully follow the series that started the franchise.

Hell I started watching Star Trek with my dad as a kid and by that time TNG was the current running series and TOS was nothing but reruns if it was shown at all. I prefer watching TNG and DS9 but it still bugs the hell out of me that they didn't really follow TOS verry well. (Mostly in the case of the Klingons looking different)

I don't even like the original series Star Trek because of how utterly fake it looks having grown up in a generation that has WAY better special effects and makup but I'd rather have the Klingons of today looking like they did back then rather than just say "this is how they were ment to look we just didn't have the capibility to pull it off at the time."

G1Blaster wrote:As for TFs dying in the war, remember the censors. They may let a character die because it's good for the story and it's only one guy. They aren't going to let bots just drop left and right because it's a war. It's a kid's show.
I'd like to say, there are only 2 groups of people that I absolutly hate...

Critics, because they get paid to tell people their own OPINIONS and alot of people actully listen to them.

And censors, because they do a job that I hate anyway and they do it badly.

First off my belife is cuss words don't exsist and the words used to substitute aren't really any better than just saying the word. They both have the same meaning anyway so it doesn't make any sence that one is bad and the other is OK.

The only time I really belive language is foul is when you're useing it to insult another person. In this case even a little kid calling someone a "do do head" could be foul. At the same time I'm not going to care if I hear a kid saying "I gotta poop" but useing another word that means the same thing.

That aside, any job someone does they should do right or not at all.

Example: TV showing of X-Men (first movie) Wolverine's line calling Cyclopse a "D!25" got changed to "You're a dork" and yet some how in the same showing Cyclopse's line calling Mystique a "B!824" got through.

If it was going to be censored at all both lines should have been changed not just the one. Either censor everything or don't do it at all.

And if you'll notice even though I myself don't belive thoughs words should be censored I did it anyway out of respect for other people's belifes.

I don't think it's due to the censors. It has more to do with the fact that Hasbro would find it difficult to sell a toy that has been killed off in the show. Anyway, Robotech (superb show) was around at the same time and had plenty of characters dying.
I don't think they have any trouble. They manage to sell toys that never appear in the show at all so I'm sure selling a toy for a character who did appear in the show but died would be no problem.

Oh yeah and I don't like it when they'll make toys of non-show characters but they still have alot of show characters who were never made as toys. (G1 fembots, BM Botanica, BM Optimal Megatron, and all that one would require is a remold of Optimal Optimus."
