I think you may just be insane.
Better paint, more paint, different (better looking) plastics much of the time. For most it's probably not worth the additional cost, but to me it is.
I have both versions of many Generations/RTS etc. figures (Takara and Hasbro) from the past several years so I can compare them in-hand and to me, the Takara versions are nearly always superior (though some more than others).
You have to keep in mind though that I'm a very picky collector. I want the very best version of every figure/character that I want, and that usually means that I must pay more and import to get it.
There's nothing wrong with the Hasbro versions, but if the Takara versions are better (which again, they usually are, at least to some degree), then that's what I'll buy.

rpetras wrote:Springer is pretty impressive, but I have to say, after waiting so long, Blitzwing and Trailbreaker are kind of underwhelming.
Orion Pax and IDW Bumblebee are looking good, but I'd hope for a Voyager IDW Megatron.
So about 50/50 in my book.

I see Generations Kup more than War Within Orion Pax/Optimus Prime.

Of course you've got to call it a dongsword.
