Interesting. Unless I am misunderstanding the cost, they don't seem too bad. I'd like some backgrounds on my display shelves....

These are cool, but pricey. I don't understand why they sell the floor tiles separately. I also don't understand how they get their prices.

For the MP ones, they recommend 4 floor tiles, which run 1.50 each, so that's 6 just for the floor, which is a much larger amount of paper than the actual backdrop that sells for 35. How does that make sense?

The backdrops are really nice though and I wouldn't mind having a few, I particularly like how these look so much like the old toon, almost as if they are screenshots (which they are not). But not at those prices sadly.

yeah, they do seem a little pricey. I can get those plastic Gundam hanger pieces at around $10 a pop. Sure I'd need a couple to give the same area of a stage, but those are plastic, and these are cardboard and some ink.
assembling a Neo-G1/TF:TM cast. Please PM if you have (or know of) the following at a reasonable price: Classics or Henkei Astrotrain, Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, or 3rd Party iGear Ratchet and Ironhide.
Also looking for Universe Repugnus and Overbite, Frostbite and Longhorn and any Webdiver toys.

I imagine the pricing has to do with the size, the card stock used, volume printed, as well as the amount of color and such that goes into each piece. The backdrops are bigger, use heavier stock, and a much more diverse color palette than the tile pieces.

In particular, from what I understand, things get exponentially more expensive the larger they are, i.e. there really isn't an economy of scale when it comes to printing size (just the opposite). But, there is an economy of scale with volume. If they're printing out generic floor tiles that can go with several different displays, those are going to be much cheaper to produce than the more limited productions of the more colorful backdrops.

That's my speculation, anyway.

Once I have a larger display area, I am definitely going to order some of these sets.

Who let the crackhead create the prices ? Its freaking cardboard, Im thinking ten bucks a pop. I wouldnt mind dropping between $100 to $150 for the entire set, but at those prices they can kiss my ass. I would rather invest in more reprolabels. Its a shame BBTS isnt carrying these so they end up on clearance.

Well hopefully they realize they missed the mark on the price point. I am interested in several of them. But I pay high prices for figures, not pieces of cardboard. I can justify the labels because they are custom cut and have adhesive. But a rectangular piece of cardboard ? Nope...

High quality card stock is hard to come by! ;)

But seriously... it gets expensive.
