[Edit] Heh, and just as I hit "submit" the message from the last piece was sent. Complete Throttlebots!

The only reason I made such a big fuss in this thread. Was due to me being frustrated that all the other bigger sized TF toys threads were getting trolled by that guy. then that guy turns around, make exceptions and buys these over sized MP TF toys.
to give a example. It's the equivelant of the Governor of a state going around shutting down strip clubs. Then that same Governor gets caught in a, paid escort scandal months later.
Tsutsukakushi wrote:CHUG has the worse scales of figures within the CHUG toy line itself. Most of the CHUG toys were given the wrong toy scales as far as they were portrayed next to each other in the G1 Cartoons and G1 toy line.
Examples are Cyclonus, Hot rod, Scourge, thunderwing, Astrotrain, seekers, Galvatron and Shockwave getting Deluxe class toys. While Springer, Blitzwing and grapple, inferno got voyager toys. while powerglide, onslaught and silverbolt got ultra class toys. none of this was G1 Cartoon or G1 toy accurate.
the TW Throttlebots were half the robot height, not the same robot height as other cars bots in the G1 season 4 cartoon or G1 toy line. So yes the TW Throttlebots were given over sized toys for the CHUG toy line.
Having a TW Throttlebot CHUG combiner that bulkier and taller than MMC Predaking and MT Devastator is deemed over sized.
Rated X wrote:G1 cartoon scale and G1 vintage toy scale are 2 entirely different animals. Since the cartoon artists were drawing art based on pre-designed prototype toys, I’m inclined to believe the artists took certain “liberties” to change certain things that they felt were silly with the vintage G1 toys. One of them was “mini-bots”. Any robot that was super small due to it’s Microman toy origin was made taller in the cartoon so they would reach Prime’s waist level rather than his knees like the vintage toys. Combiner limb bots and Throttlebots became pretty much the same size as Autobot cars even though their vintage toys were a lot smaller. Other than a budget oriented price point, it never made any sense why those cars or jets were smaller than the standard ones. The cartoon artists realized this, so they did away with the smaller size and upsized them to standard size robots in the cartoon. While the scale of certain characters may be inconsistent throughout the G1 cartoon, the Throttlebots were given very limited exposure in The Rebirth. You said it yourself, the Throttlebots were the “whipping boys” of the Autobots, so you should remember these scenes very well…
These scenes were about 75% of the Throttlebots limited exposure in the Rebirth. They clearly show Wideload being just slightly smaller than Apeface and Freeway being the same size as Snapdragon. So from a cartoon accurate standpoint, were the Throttlebots bigger robots or were the Horrorcons smaller robots ? You decide…
My interpretation is the Throttlebots were normal sized cars. Small cars don’t make sense. Maybe for toys it made sense for budget reasons, but not for an animated cartoon. It just looks cooler when the robots can stare each other down eye to eye when they face off. If the vintage toy scale was used in the G1 cartoon, the Autobots wouldn’t stand a chance. That’s why I shun the vintage toy scale. It happens to have too many really large and really small bots. CHUG scale isn’t perfect, but it evens out the odds and makes a more well rounded display shelf.
I know you prefer the vintage G1 toy scale and use it to justify how big or small a CHUG toy should be. Here’s a few examples of why the cartoon scale is superior and has done justice over the inferior vintage G1 toy scale...
This just looks stupid. Is it even a challenge when Autobots can get stepped on like roaches ? The animators delivered justice.
Remember when I said the vintage toy scale was based on various price points of toys rather than real world accuracy ? Here is a clear case of characters that should be the same size. But their not because one toy is smaller to accommodate a different price range. We did not need this in the cartoon. Once again, justice was served by the animators.
This one is the worst offender. Which is the proper size of a shuttle ? And how big should the robot mode be for a character that turns into a shuttle ? Clearly these are all the same NASA style shuttle. But they are all different sizes and transform into different sized robots. It’s stuff like this that’s the reason the animators invented “mass shifting” and a large amount of the fandom has accepted it. A weird alien technology makes more sense in a sci-fi cartoon than a bunch of different sized shuttles. And CHUG adopted that theory in their scale choices for updated figures. And as usual, justice was served by the animators.
