Personally, I'm hoping for a micro-continuity. TF anime works best when it's allowed to go all-out balls-to-the-wall insane.

Sabrblade, a tidbit for you: The series is nothing more than a Super Sentai-meets-Transformers series. So them using "Chojin" (which is a pre-Western influenced term for Superhuman, Super-God, and Superman) is done in the same way they used it in their 1977-1978 Super Sentai series: Chojin Sentai Barattack. But if you need an excuse to why the word "God" is valid, and yet "Chojin" (the superpower) is the gimmick... Look at Primus for your answer. Because in all cases, they have hinted that the Chojin power makes a Seibertronian a God-like being, and that a human using it makes them a "Super-God"-like being (in terms of Seibertronian construction and power). ;)

Oh, and based on my studies of the Japanese language and its evolution that adopted portions of Western words/terms, there are other words that the Japanese adopted (such like the French word for "animation"). That, and they used the word for the same reason why they did not change Convoy's name to Optimus Prime in 1985. Which, as you might agree, is pretty ironic to the way things are now being handled. :-B

As for the Christian-based fans, let me point something out: Super-God/Chojin is based on the Shinto variation of deityhood. It has nothing to do with the God that dates back to early Judaism, and branched out when the last non-Christian Emperor in Rome announced that to be a Christian, you do not have to be Jewish. And even then, the use of the words "God" and "Devil" have become universal for "Unity/Good" (Cybertron/Autobot) and "Deception/Evil" (Destron/Decepticon). And the premise of the story is to promote a champion of good both fight and defeat the greatest of evil. But, as I said before, the use of the word "Chojin" is more derived from the Shinto belief system than that of Christianity (as they have a belief system that ties them to the land and this planet). So if this pisses you off, and I question why it should, then I do not suggest that you watch Mobile Fighter G Gundam in Japanese.

So with that said... And the fact arguments like these remind me of the reasons why my return to the franchise might have died if I was not hooked on blogs, was not hooked on it since 1984, the manga-based reboot (ALL SPARK), and Fortress Maximus/Headmasters... I am shaking my fist because you guys made me understand the concept/premise of said chapter in the franchise. ...I mean... :BOOM: :BANG_HEAD:

Back on subject - An if you want to discuss the use of Chojin or the religious ramifications of Super-God Masterforce, invite me to said topic. Because some of you still have not learned to just keep those topics in their own topics. ...I mean... :BOOM: :BANG_HEAD:

So here is my feel on Go!: Those who bothered to know me, know that once I am intrigued by something, I study it until I fully grasp what others tend to overlooked. And if I care enough to look at something others have noted I have overlooked, I will look into it even further. In this case, the fallout of how continuity works when a Japanese company handles a western product. In this case, they only adopted PRIME and used the WFC/FOC aspects (not all, though) for UNITED, Generations, and the flashback seen in ALL SPARK.

In more lament terms... All continuities share a core value, which are the set events. Everything else, ranging from who is aligned with what to appearances, vary from creator to creator. In this case, we should assume that we are told a spoiler, and this is TOMY's version of said spoiler.

In terms for me: I do not care about the series, as it is an OVA. I love the concept, want some of the PRIME-related toys (namely "Hunter" Arcee) for my "Operation: 30 Strong" project/collection, and will hope they put the series out on BD in the future.

Oh, and speaking of continuities... If the theory is proven to be physically valid, and I believe it is, it means that there is a timestream out there where the Michael Bay films are good, the non-G1 series are better than the original, Hasbro did put out a Breakdown figure, and TOMY put a series accurate "Arms Micron" Smokescreen figure. I would figure a way to get there, but I worry about the other changes that world faces. ;)

1. It's much MUCH closer to Takara's own Brave Series in themes and aesthetics than Super Sentai. The stereotypical shonen male leads, the adventure questing, and the helmets are not Sentai tropes.
2. The Super Sentai from '77 was JAKQ, and the only Chojin Sentai in the Super Sentai Series is 1991's Jetman
3. The Chojin Sentai Barattack you refer to is a Toei Animation property, not Super Sentai.

As for the Christian-based fans.....[etc]

Pretty sure we already established nobody was actually offended by the terminology, it was merely some people wondering if anybody would be offended.

We have Animated, Prime, and Rescue Bots (and Beast Wars if you meant the literal G1 show rather than its broader universe). Welcome to Earth Prime. :)

*grasps head* Stop making sense!

But in all honesty, I was focusing more on the post-Spider-Man era of Super Sentai, which is where they had gotten the giant robots and other elements that are slightly similar to the Brave series. Then again, Chojin Sentai was an anime series, not a live-action Super Sentai series. So it might have been more Brave in the end, as the team from that series do look like leftover Voltron members. :P

As for the religion stuff... Lets just say I was covering all the bases. Because I am still reeling over the fact that the word "Hell" in Deathscythe Hell not only had the toy be removed from numerous Walmarts... But is said to be why they changed they made changes in the English dub for Mobile Fighter G Gundam.

And the continuity bit was a joke. As in the catch being that Iron Man in that continuity was directed by Joel Schumacher, or Fortress Maximus looks like something Michael Bay would have designed. Or worse... The Dinobots never existed. ;)

Hey, we're still getting more Predacons out of this. Gaidōra, Bakudōra, Budōra, Gorādora, and Judōra.

Sure, they're all redecos/remolds, but they're still new guys.
