Postby Raymond T. » Wed Dec 03, 2008 5:11 pm

Earlier this week, on December 1st, the Transformers Cartoon show Robots In Disguise was released in the UK by Jetix. This marks the third time in five years that the series has been released in a collection box. This time dubbed as 'The Ultimate Collection', the complete series are housed in one box on 6 discs. As last time, there are no specials on this release.

What exactly are the differences between the various releases?

It was first released in two box sets, then another two, now this full one.

Ok, I found out something wierd today. This collection doesn't exist! Seriousely, it has been listed as 'not available' on amazon.co.uk and it has been taken off completely from play.com. I have searched around and it is nowhere to be found! I had preordered this since the 26th of last month, so this has become a bit of a blow to me. I rang up hmv's helpline and the woman suggested that it may have been cancelled as this has happened to other products in the past. In the end I decided to bite the bullet and buy the individual RID boxsets for more cash.

If anyone has any other news on this I would be ineterested in hearing!

The first one was in two parts and had minor specials. Written bios for the characters. The second one was also in two parts and had no specials at all. And this one has no specials but is in one complete box.

So far I've only seen reports that is was released on december first. But I don't live in the UK, so I can't confirm. :(

What I wanna know is what is the hold up on the USA United States release of the RID Box Set.

The UK has got 3 re-releases of this set yet here in the United States we have yet to see it.

The series has not been seen or heard from here in the states since it was last aired back in the early 2000's

It has been atleast almost 10 years since we seen it here in the USA.

We, may get the better toys and movies or what not, but when it comes to getting the classics re-released or remastered you might as well forget it.

Threw me for a loop when I heard about Cybertron going on DVD next even shocked me beyond amazement that we are finally getting Energon here in the states also.

If they made a RiD Box-Set here in the USA I would probably pass out from shock.

Spain Gets - Re-Ramastered G1 Re-release DVD Box Sets.

UK United Kingdom gets RID, The Headmasters, Victory,

USA United States gets, Cybertron, Energon, TF-Animated Seasons 1 & 2

Maybe next year here in the USA we may get RiD but I doubt we will ever see a remastered G1 Box-Set again or the other series.

IIRC, it's a problem with Disney having some or all of the rights to the show in the States and not giving a damn about releasing it.

Just want to reitterate to those who jumped my post alltogether...

The complete collection is nowhere to be found! Not in stock anywhere, despite a previouse release date of dec 1st!!

It may be Jetix have decided it's not worth selling. I may be wrong and it might come out a later date, but so far it's in limbo.

A guy from Music Box (liscence holders/Distributers) has informed me that the ultimate collection has not been released due to the UK's current financial situation, and no release date has been set. This doesn't mean it will never be released, just put on hiatus for now.

We've had Headmasters, Masterforce and Victory for well over a year, but it would be nice to see BeastWars released here!
