Believe it or not, the first time I ever saw it was in 2000. I was 18 years old already. I found a cheap red-box VHS copy at my local grocery store for $3. I bought it, went home (almost got in a car wreck on the way because I kept looking at the box on the front seat) popped it in, and watched the magic happen. I had been a TF fan since the 80s, but I had never seen TF:TM until then.

My favorite line, actually, is Springer's "I have better things to do tonight than die!"

My favorite scene is Unicron transforming. That was some sharp animation!

And my favorite introduced character is of course, my namesake. (Hot Rod or Rodimus, both are cool.)

Next year is the 25th anniversary, and TF3 happens to come out. I wonder what they will do to promote TF3 with the 86 movie. Will the 25th anniversary edition be better than the 20th anniversary edition?

Saw it opening week. I was... seven or so. Man, Prime's death sent me reeling. :(
Not caring about scale since 1984. Just like Hasbro.

My reviews of Transformers G1, one episode at a time. Stop by for a spell!

I seen it the first time on TV when i was 4 or 5.It was broken into parts. Suprisingly i forgot that Prime died until i seen the movie again in 2000. My parents claimed that in the late 80's it upset the crap out of me. Repressed memory. I do remember that i seen hot rod use saws to cut himself away from tentacles under water. My mad had to convince for a week that my hot rod did indeed not have saws in his arm

Ahh, memories. I was 16 yrs old when it was released in theatres, a Decepticon fan, and a trouble-maker. I am sure you all have enough imagination to surmise how that turned out (I saw it 7 or 8 times opening week)!

I was only 1 when the film came out,so Im not luckY enough to have any cinema memories. A few years later (already a TF obsessed child) my dad appeared with the movie on VHS! The film really did leave a huge impression, and as much as there are haterz, Hot Rod was the coolest charceter every. Young, daring, and an alt mode perfect for young boys that love cars!

Everything about the film was perfect, even down to the score which still gives me shivers (especially attack on the shuttle, escape and showdown)

I think I have watched the film almost every month since that day. My childhood years were to best years of my life (so far), and to me this film really somes it up whether it was me and my brother playing with Hot Rod and Kup on the sofa, or staying home sick from school and curling up in bed with Transformers The Movie playing.

On another note, attached Is a picture of me with hot rod destryoing the Optimus Prime birthday cake my Mum made for my brothers birthday! Maybe at this young age I was happy with OP's departure!!
