Not really. I don't know if its a recent phenomenon but the bodies I found on e-bay sell between 30-50$

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Scorponok-1987-Vintage-Hasbro-G1-Transformers-Action-Figure-excellent-condition/141482731491?_trksid=p2050601.c100085.m2372&_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140211132617%26meid%3D7f377a7b3f634d5096d17ff0d95130a7%26pid%3D100085%26prg%3D20140211132617%26rk%3D4%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D261656758410%26clkid%3D2207956083765750157&_qi=RTM1963932

Mine does have the orange panels behind his legs though.

The headmaster itself sells for 50$ alone, so its pretty awesome.

Ok guys, I knew I had a good deal but I didnt know how good. I went on e-bay in the sold listing section and made sure to find the same toys in similar conditions (like grimlock missing a dinosaur hand, the sharkticon missing "shark hands", lord zarak missing a head peg)with the same accessories. I stayed conservative and did not count the shipping or doubles I got (like the scrappy silverbolt and skydive). The total amount was 335$US. As a Canadian, this number would increase drastically if I were to have bought them all on e-bay, due to exchange, shipping and whatever tax customs wants to impose on any given day. Obviously, Scorponok with the inclusion of the ramps and lord zarak makes up more than a third of that but the one that really surprised me was Slugslinger. He is the second most expensive one in the lot and double the worth of the original release Optimus Prime I got. That was my biggest surprise. I thought the free autotrooper set was nuts but now I don't know what to think.

Another Haul post.

TF Expo Exclusive MP Lambor. The only change over other versions of this figure is that he does not have a fraction symbol stamped on him, which I really like. It keeps the robot in disguise idea and gives a cleaner Lamborghini, reminiscent of the Binaltech line. The fraction symbol comes as a sticker with 2 different sizes.

Image

I am a bit dissapointed with the figure though. The leg panels dont have much to tab with and he doesnt feel very hefty for a masterpiece toy. But the engineering is still awesome and the car mode is phenomenal, as one would expect.

did you know there's a fold-out panel on the inside of the black shin piece? it fills the inside of his leg a bit more

cool. i got one too, but i cant bring myself to open it. mainly cause its rare (though i dont really plan to sell any TF's) and cause its basicly the same as my opened MP lambo. i got him for completions sake.

Nope, I did not so thank you so much for pointing it out. On my first try, I always try to transform without the instructions. Those panels were cleverly hidden and their deployment makes the legs super sturdy, bringing up my score on this figure. I still preffer MP Wheeljack but this figure no longer dissapoints. Funny how 2 panels can make all the difference in the world.

Shajaki, maybe you could take him out and just leave him in car mode next to your Lambor in robot mode. It would be a fun display and I think the car mode is the highlight of this particular release.

And Cobotron, I think so too. Along with Lord Zarak of course, who was literally a hidden gem. While I am happy to now own an original G1 Optimus, Grimlock and Springer, it is those 2 which really make the lot worthwhile.

if i opened him, thats totally what id do. i just may do it, as im a big advocate of freeing toys from their prisons.

on a similar note, i plan to get MP10A (bape convoy). its not even in my hands and im debating whether ill open him or not. its drasticly different and can stand apart from the other MP10's, but oh lord the price!

For the price you pay, you better open him! Well, here's a compromise: How about buying TWO? One to open, one to keep sealed?

But seriously, if you are a MP-10 completist and you buy the BAPE, open him. Now, only the Evangelion, Nemesis, and Platinum remain! (Platinum MP-10 is on sale at 100$ at TrU online. You non-Québécois better not miss out.)

I got AoE Galvatron thanks to a 50% off deal at Target. He's surprisingly interesting, despite being a movie toy.

Made a small haul of Animated Jazz and Animated Soundwave without weapons for about 16 dollars.

They're fairly sturdy toys, but they didn't come with instructions either, so it took some time to transform. Especially Soundwave's chest. At first, I thought I would break the guy, but once you do it a few times, it gets easier and feels less like he's going to snap. Both have decent balance, I just wish Soundwave was a bit bigger. He's huge compared to Jazz's vehicle mode, but is about two-heads shorter in robot mode.

All-in-all, I'm pretty happy.

A third day in a row for me regarding awesome hauls. Target finally got Angry Birds Transformers Telepods so I got a few. I also got Generations Jetfire for 30$ thanks to Target matching Walmart's Price. I also picked up Orion Pax for 10$ at Target, who had just gotten some older generations line in stock. And lastly, I was able to pick up complete with instructions RID Landfill for 20$ and Generations Thunderwing for 6$. Woohoo!

Sigh... Canadian's Black Friday is total bullshit. No more sale than usual. Also, some are barely have a few $ off, some non at all. Only a few select items are worth buying. Like every days. Sigh...

At least, the 1steps AoE figures are at 8$ at Walmart. So, I grabbed the 1step Helicopter Drift.

Chug was right. It's one AMAZING figure! Hyper detailed, paint aps aplenty, clever and fun transformation, and great looking overall! Plus, it's a unique mold and is the perfect representation of Drift's helicopter mode, even more so than the DOTM Syhammer repaint. Sure, articulations and posability are sacreficed for the 1step gimmick. Honestly, I don't give a crap. He's amazing and can stand in bot mode pretty solidly.

Highly recommended.

Black friday was awesome for me. TRU was at least 30% off on all transformers even their evolution 2 packs (should have waited). And their voyagers were all 20$ each (thats 10% off for canadians). I ordered the ones I couldnt find online but I got Galvatron. And Walmart had all the generations figures so I finally got Rattrap, and for 10$.

Image

Please dont pay attention to Jetfire and Lambour in the back, they are just busy being awesome!

He's an interesting addition to my collection and I like the collapsing truck. But I dont see him as a proper transformer (because he isnt). I like how they made the onscreen character a toy, but it doesnt change the fact that I dont like how the onscreen character is all robot and no alt mode. I feel the toy is a better interpretation of what should have been onscreen.

As was said in another thread, it's true that kibbles and visible vehicle parts are what make Transformers a Transformers. In a sense, a TF with no kibbles of altmode parts is just ashamed of it's true nature.
