Motto: ""Get into your enemy's mind. And then beat him at his own evil game.""
Welcome to the latest edition of the Seibertron.com Twincast / Podcast! This episode features your host for the evening, ScottyP, along with Jon 3.0 and Rotorstorm. Tonight we'll be discussing one glorious Masterpiece figure, the final countdown for the HUB, Hasbro taking over the world, and our hero finally getting a well deserved award.

Episode 102 "Hidden Mickeys" is available directly and in our RSS Feed and should appear on iTunes and Stitcher Radio within 24 to 48 hours of when you see this news post.

(00:19 - 15:55)
After months of waiting and slowly forgetting we pre-ordered him, Mastpiece Wheeljack is finally here and he is just...PERFECT!

Image
"Oh my aching cylinders"

(15:55 - 27:46 )
With the release of Age of Extinction, there was something hidding in the special features...an image of a RID Grimlock prototype for the up coming series. Hmm...very interesting. You'll have to tune in to hear our thoughts on Godzilla, er I mean Grimlock :)

Image

(27:46 - 47:55)
Sad news came to us over the last week and that was the announcement of The HUB Network to become Discovery Family Channel on October 13th. What does this mean for the future of the Transformers series? We discuss our thoughts on this change and what we think about the future.

Image

(47:55 - 57:08)
and further proof that Hasbro is slowly taking over the universe.

Image

(57:08 - 01:06:58)
Up next we talk about these nifty little displays from the folks at Reprolabel.

Image
(and yes, they do come in a size specifically made for your detolf cases!)

(01:07:00 - 01:10:58)
The TFCC recently released a new comic on their website for free...and well...can someone help a bot out?

Image

P.S. that is what butthurt means ;)

(01:10:58 - 01:22:00)
An awesome event took place last week in celebration of the release of Age of Extinction. The legendary Peter Cullen received a spot on the Hollywood Walk of Fame! We couldn't be happier for Mr. Cullen. Congratulations!

Image

(01:22:00 - 01:43:08)
Closing out the night we talk bragging rights...which this could take a while because we sure went crazy over the last week!

Image

and thanks to a last minute e-mail to the staff, we had a fun round of "Name the Transformer!"

Thanks everyone for listening and we appreciate the continued support! Don't forget, the show only gets better if you tell us how. Drop us a review on iTunes and be sure to tell us what you love, what you hate, and what you want to hear!

Not on the show to give your take? Probably not, so don't forget to keep the discussion going on the Seibertron.com Energon Pub Forums by simply replying to this post!

Got a question for the Twincast? We take all of them, we just don't take them all seriously! Leave a question in the Ask the Twincast thread and, if it makes the cut, it may get read and answered on the show.

Just a quick point about last week's episode. You guys put the question out there about what parts of the franchise will be forgotten, and I thought of a pretty good one. I think that Beast Wars II is not going to be remembered. In fact it's already not remembered. It's often lumped together with Beast Wars Neo, and IMO it has very little mention in the western Transformers fandom. I think that factors leading to it being so obscure are its lack of any English dub or sub(not sure about that, but I haven't heard of one), and it having very few new molds. BWII toys are usually very cheap, and are usually bought as analogs for more expensive toys ie. Megastorm as G2 Megatron, and BB and Starscream as ATB Megatron and Starscream. All of this is ashamed because Beast Wars II looks well animated, and has a varied and interesting toyline.

Ooh, very true. With the lack of an official sub/dub for the show, plus a toyline that's all over the place, it's easy to forget it. Neo's toys fit in well with all your Beast Wars stuff, but BWII? Yeah, I'll just put Autocrasher in here next to this giant ant guy and an elephant. That'll look just great.

I read the Club comic and got what was going on. Since I'm currently pressed for time, I'll give the quickest explanation about it that I can. It was the sequel to 2013's Machine Wars comic, taking place immediately after it. It's set in the Club's "Wings Universe" that is basically a world heavily based on that of the G1 cartoon, but with some differences to give room to creative liberties without contradicting the original show itself. The comic is set in the future year of 2013 (like how 2005 was considered "the future" in the G1 cartoon) coming after not just the Machine Wars comic, but also after the 2010 "Generation 2: Redux" comic and the 2012 Club magazine storyline "A Flash Forward", who final chapter foreshadowed to the Machine Wars comic.

This comic basically brought together the casts of the Machine Wars comic, the G2: Redux and A Flash Forward comics, and the Subscription Service 3.0 characters coming next year, all to have them team up to stop Jhiaxus once and for all, as he has been the series main villain since the "A Flash Forward" comics. He's been trying to replace the current population of Cybertron with a new race of superior TF clones united under his rule. After he's defeated in this comic, the Pax Cybertronia (first mentioned in Beast Wars) is signed, finall ending the Great War. And we get a little bit at the end hinting at an origin of the Beast Era Predacons, as well as Tarantulas and the Tripredacus Council.

That is actually quite helpful, being succinct probably helps with the explanation of their chronology :) Will have to read some of it again now in "order" and see if I enjoy it more. Thanks!

When I first started reading the Club's fiction, I decided to read it all in production order (save for one or two stories I shifted around to make a better read). I wrote a full list of every piece of fiction they've published, complete with color coding by continuity, so as to help me keep track of the reading order. Here's the list, updated to the most recent fiction.

And for just the Wings Universe, here's the official timeline.

Listening to Jon3.0's off-topic energy and ScottP's laid back, bringing it back on topic sighs reminds me of the Chris Traeger/Ben Wyatt dynamic on Parks & Rec.

Great episode, guys!

Hey guys, the ID Your Figure website is at tfu.info and at one time, transformerland.com used to have parts ids, but it was wayout of date the last time I used it a decade ago and may be gone

Ah, forgot TFU had that too. I should be more familiar with them seeing as how I've contributed pictures to them in the distant past. I don't anymore due to involvement here, for the record.

I know the last couple podcasts, ScottyP, you were confused by the free TFCC comic. You admit to maybe not paying enough attention. That's the simple case. If you've followed the fiction for the last couple years, all you need is there. I think it's been explained better than I can but it is indeed a great, free thing. I'd be more than happy to buy a print version. I think it's my favorite comic or piece of fiction they've produced. Give it another go once you've caught up, I think you'll get more out of it.

You know what else I realized using Sabr's badass list that is linked up above? A lot of the club comic material for that universe came out when I was dirt poor and didn't subscribe for awhile. It's no wonder I'm so lost and things seemed so random and out of nowhere!
