From what I have seen in the past, the symbol as it appears in the comics, is like has been done previously in other comis as well, in that it is nothing more than a simplification?a short-hand?of the Autobot symbol done to make it easier to draw repeatedly. It isn?t an earlier version. In fact, if you look at page 4 from the Preview book?page 54 in the TPB? (the one where grimlock confronts Starscream, and some of their history together in the area is revealed) the last panel shows Grimlock with the proper Autobot symbol, not the simplified one.

I had the part mold casted in light yellow prior to painting and even that didn't work too well. Still required more coats than other colors so I doubt the white base coat would work. I mean the final result came out fine. Just that I don't want to apply 6 or 7 coats where other colors I only need about 3.

I do it all the time with my custom SW figures when I need yellow. A white base coat works, if it is a good opaque white. Then all to requires is a single coat of yellow, and it is very bright.

Sorry I probably wasn't clear. Normally white base coat would work if trying to use light colors such as yellow. But I think either I have a defective can or Krylon fusion yellow is that way but the spray comes out thin. Even spraying yellow on the yellow material I still needed to use alot of coats so spraying yellow on white probably wouldn't help in this case. I read somewhere someone else having the same problem with Krylon fusion yellow as well so I figured it may be the brand which is why I wanted to get input on any good brand of yellow.
