Least I dont shop online!

This is bad... thank you for the warning. I never used bbts and tfsource, but it's clearly not their fault, this is a credit card scam by hackers. We all better be aware of our credit cards movements and act imediatelly after some movement that doesn't make sense. This really sucks...

I'm a regular TFSource and don't use Paypal and I'm fine. Called the card company and no bogus charges. IF it is true, it's unfortunate but could happen anywhere.

I have been using TFsource for a while now, all credit card transactions and never had a hickup. Please change the title of this post. It is a big injustice to them considering that it may not be TFsource that was hacked but the third-party company that they are using.

I agree with Narc. And I don't think he's directing the comment to you. It's really the function of a news admin to update the headline. I'd consider tweaking the title if I were on my laptop versus my phone.

Yes payton34, stating that "TFsource has been hacked" is a lot different from "Third party company used by TFsource has been hacked." Look at it. I am not attacking you but news is supposed to be factual. That's why I requested you to change the title of your post. You have the right to post what you want but consider that by stating that TFsource was hacked you are basically defaming a good company eventhough it has already been stated that it was not them that was hacked. And by ignoring the facts you are basically slandering the company.

Yeah me too. I have one pending charge for $1 to itunes. TFSource can eat a bag full of dicks for the hassle I'm going to have to go through to straighten this **** out. Never using them again and I hope they go out of business.

Found the $1 iTunes charge to my account today; it is still pending. One ten minute phone call and the charge was flagged and the card cancelled and a new one is being sent to me. I had a preorder go through and charge my card on Jan 5th from TFSource. I'll still shop there, just not order any preorder items from them.

A five minute phone call got it sorted. My card's being canceled, I'm getting a new card number and pin number and the card's being sent out tomorrow. I still hope that TF Source goes out of business though. Their security is laughable, at least BBTS has a security staff. I'll never do business with TF Source again.

Hold on a sec everyone. Has it even been verified that it was, in fact, the third-party used by TFSource that was hacked? I just called my CC company and there is no suspicious activity on my accounts for either card I have used when I bought stuff at TFSource.

It is quite possible that the breach happened on another site entirely and it just so happens that the same group of people who are reporting fraudulent transactions happen to frequent TFSource as well (i.e. some common demographic).

Put your torches and pitch forks down please and lets wait for the evidence to surface before we put Curt on trial as a witch (although...he does weigh as much as a duck...).

Yes I did just join to post that I also had fraudulent charges. Up until now I had no need to post on this site. I have better things to to than cry about IDW's art or what Megan said about Bay this week. I use the site for a news source and for sightings. But of course anyone on the internet who does not agree with you is obviously a troll. I think it will be very apparent in the next few days that other people who have not used tf source have bogus charges as well. But I am sure they will all be trolls as well.

It has been brought to Seibertron.com's attention that some members of the Transformers online community have received unauthorized charges on their credit or debit cards. While there is much speculation pertaining to this issue, no one has been able to confirm the source of the security breach.

Ok before anyone wants to claim siding that say it all bottom line.
Your third party hack that rasies my eybrow on one way alone what at a granite company costs 17 dollars. Or Loki and the count less others who report these charges of far smaller amounts could be the same third party company, but different uses of your cards thus in a way making all of you right.

I have never bought a TF online so when i say this i aplaud BBTS for how they handle there security. I hold nothing against TFsource just it sucks that they have the possibility of lost revenue by a third party.

If you think it bad some question you, well go find a bar brawl that you know no one and step in it sorry but your gonna have peeps turn there agression on you. It's human nature next time maybe not make your first post into that of contreversy. Join up bitch about IDW or Bayformers or how much you love like various aspects of this fandom.

Sorry guys, but Payton34 doesn't represent the news crew and I'm guessing at the time he didn't exactly know what exactly was going on. Give him some slack here. Whether or not if he changes the forum title, it doesn't really freaking matter. This matter has gotten into everyone's attention, and we know what and who has caused this situation.

If you have problems with the news, slam it on me, not payton34 who's just trying to help everyone out and kindly spent the time to bring this to our attention. I know when money is involved, fists start to go flying here and there, but for times like these I think we just need to settle down a little and start to understand everyone's situation.

Cool story, bro. But we're the ones that got trolled. We bought **** and if it weren't for OP most of us would have gotten our credit cards and bank accounts raped. I got a text from a friend. Then I heard about the thread. Sorry, but we're allowed to rage here. Someone's poopy security compromised a lot of our dox. And it's looking like it's TF Source's fault. It doesn't really matter who's fault it is, because they're going to lose tons of sales from this fiasco so in the end whoever it is deserves it for having such poor security.

Guys, this arguing about this situation needs to STOP. NOW. It's 100% pointless and at this point is just internet drama. This information was posted in the news section after the owner of the "hacked" online retailer had an opportunity to respond to make sure that he was aware of the situation and that it was being handled (and more or less acknowledge that the situation did happen). I immediately posted a news post about it, within less than 1.5 hours of me finding out about this whole situation, so that people could take appropriate action(s) with their credit card company(ies) which I felt was the proper thing to do.

Please end all discussion about the title of this thread and whether or not this news post is appropriate. It is appropriate based on the information the we currently have available and from the message we received from that online retailer's owner.

All of this premature speculation is nothing short of destructive. It is nothing but gossip at this point. Why don't we be more constructive and do what we can to help troubleshoot the matter? Why not use this forum to gather some stats on:

1) Who is receiving fraudulent ITunes/Microsoft charges
2) Who has bought from TFSource and when and how (e.g. PayPal, credit card, etc.)
3) What other sites (e.g. Amazon, IDW, BBTS, RobotKingdom) do those who have received fraudulent charges also frequent.

Perhaps, we may be able to see a pattern. Perhaps we won't see one. In any case, it will be a far more constructive use of our time than ranting about how we "wish TFSource would go out of business". I have read reports that some people have had their card compromised and NOT purchased from TFSource. Let's try to sort this out and get some facts.

If TFSource goes out of business, then it is bad news for all of us. Why? Because there will be less competition in this space and competition is good. BBTS makes it easier to cancel a pre-order than TFSource, but their prices are a bit higher. If I am certain I want something, I go with TFSource because it is usually cheaper. See? Having multiple vendors is a GOOD thing. Let's not unnecessarily cause harm.

If TFSource goes out of business over this AND it turns out they are innocent, then I will be extremely pissed off. I have purchased from TFSource MANY times. My card, to my knowledge, has not been compromised. I will keep checking up on this and let you know if that changes.

As I mentioned in my post above, please stop arguing about this. TFsource has already acknowledged that this situation occurred. There's no need to debate whether or not it happened, because it did. Where in the process the fault happened is still up for debate, but it did happen with people who shared their CC information with TFsource.

I actually called my credit card company about that $1 iTunes charge and they weren't very helpful. The guy told me it was probably what I'd originally thought, and doubted that they'd claim $1. Sounded pretty condescending the whole time too.

I think I've spoken to the same guy in the past...if so, according to him airlines also apparently routinely charge you twice for your ticket but only claim one of the charges. That caused me to exceed my credit limit, and all I could do was wait until the unclaimed charge dropped off. Never heard of that before. Ridiculous.

I didn't ask to cancel my card, only that I was reporting an unauthorized transaction. The most he could say was that there isn't much they can do at this point. Hopefully it doesn't turn out for the worst.

Oh, I did remove all my credit card information from iTunes though. I googled it and it seems to be a very common scam in the past couple of years. Somehow they hack your iTunes account and rip you off for hundreds of dollars worth of downloads or gift cards.
