In the Seibertron's quest for 2500 galleries we proudly present three more Transformers DOTM entries: Crankcase, Ratchet, and Skids. Both Skids and Ratchet previously received Deluxe class figures in the ROTF toy line. Crankcase on the other hand is an all new character for DOTM. Speaking of hands, Crankcase comes in two varieties: fingers intact and fingers clipped. Click here for more information on which Crankcase has its fingers and which ones don't.

I third the motion! He's great, I've got three of em' since apparently there are at least three in the movie. What's funny is when the first leaked prototype images hit everyone thought he would be terrible. I'll admit even I was pretty skeptical, but he turned out great.

I think he sucks compare to most of the deluxes -.-...Why? Here's why :-

1) Damn simple transformation
2) No uniqueness in the transformation
3) In bot mode he looks so simple almost like "Scout" class simple -.-
4) What's up with that god awful hair on his head @_@...
5) Weird fingers >.>...Really it's either two fingers too long or two fingers
clipped?
6) The mechtech looks weird X_X...
7) One of the worst paint apps there is
8. Kibbles on the arm
9) What's up with that huge pincer on his head? Really what's the use of THAT?
10) The fingers are too small compare to the arm proportion
11) Small for a deluxe.
12) Kibble on the leg.

There you go. So really when people say this figure sucks they're completely rational and not "out of their mind" :D.Even if I have a MILLION dollar I would think 100 times before buying this guy.Seriously the only deluxes I recommend is Topspin and Bumblebee(If you dont have a bumblebee yet) :D. The other two deluxes sucks too xD. Ratchet is too bulky and weird leg proportion, Skids is FAT and SHORT. There ya go~

I agree to disagree with what feels like hastily fired-off criticisms of the Crankcase figure.

1. It's simple, but it's nowhere near legend-class simple. Perfectly alright for a deluxe.
2. And what do you think is unique? Hood-becomes-chest?
3. You look at all the detailing molded onto his torso, his face, his arms and legs and tell me that looks scout-class simple.
4. Don't like the hair, just pull/cut it off.
5. Alien robot fingers must follow human finger proportions? Especially from the outlandishly-designed movieverse? Not to mention it's only one long finger. Go bash Megatron's fingers while you're at it.
6. Crankcase's mechtech hardly looks weird compared to the others - it's design and function complement his appearance.
7. I don't see anything bad about the paint apps - the gold, silver and red break up his monochrome black/grey.
8 and 12. How many transformers don't have kibble on their arms and legs?
9. You could say the same for G1 Shrapnel and all those other figures with hornlike kibble.
10. The longer arms give Crankcase a lankier appearance. In any case, the fingers hardly detract from the figure IMO.
11. He is hardly small for a deluxe, even without the horns.

You seem to know this figure so much when you don't even own one to handle. I'm fine with your disliking, but go do your research properly next time you critique.

Anyways, thanks for the effort put in these new galleries Seibs!

I think that Skids is easily one of the worst deluxes we've had in a long time. I mean, his feet are nearly as long as the figure is tall! Sasquatch Skids FTL.

On the other hand, I really REALLY like the Ratchet mold. Best representation of him yet. Good poseability, and the transformation even is similar to the one from the movie.
It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.

I thought I'm just gonna left this one alone but you know what? Imma give you a proper rebuttal :D.

1. Oh that's nice to know that a deluxe is compared to a LEGENDS -.-...Really dude?
2. What's unique? Go watch WFC deluxe Prime's transformation and tell me it's not unique
3. Oh I see...So I need to squint closely to the figure to see that's its not a scout class?
4. So I still need to do something to the figure after I buy it? Sorry but I prefer a Transformers toy that's already nicely done when I buy it.
5. Can you go see G1 Optimus hands? And can you go see Movieverse Optimus hands? Go see Ironhide's hands? Those three are ALL alien robots and yet they have human-like hands duh.
6. Still looks weird to me :D.
7.Oh it's just that when I see him,he's pretty much just black and grey.
8 and 12. Let's see....WFC deluxe Optimus? WFC deluxe Megatron? Deluxe Scourge? ROTF Leader Prime?
9. Oh I see...You are comparing him to a 20+ years old figure? Really dude?
10.Well I agree with you on this one lol
11.Kay? I'm just pointing that he's smaller than the ROTF/RTS/Generations deluxes.

You see I DID do my research...So I'm gonna ask this to you...did YOU do it? I bet you didnt so please dont say that unless you did do some research. Oh and BTW seeing H-res pictures is the same as having it in hand lol.

The only one I have so far out of these three is Ratchet, but he is probably my favorite deluxe so far. He's sturdy, movie-accurate, has nice paint apps, and he has a cool spinning saw  .

Skids (and his twin), in my opinion, are looking much healthier than their ROTF deluxe counterparts, and I love the twins anyway so I'll probably end up getting both of them.

I'm on the fence on Crankcase...I just don't see the total awesomeness in him to make him my next figure. I'll get him probably, but someone convince me why he's the best.
Please note: If you think I may be joking, I probably am.

I recommend Crankcase. He is an excellent figure overall. I think you'd regret not getting him.

Crankcase is pure evil, awesome figure. The only negative-point I see, is that he deserves a Voyager mold. That would make him the best figure to pose fighting Ironhide and/or Ratchet.

Crankcase is the hypothetical product of 'what if Hasbro made a transformers crossover line based on the Aliens vs. Predator series?'. Lanky limbs aside, his very face, dreadlocks and biography screams Predator. His pincers make for a very nice stealth force gimmick and his legs are double-jointed; his knee can bend in two spots giving him very poseable legs. My only biggest gripe is that the mandibles are made of soft plastic, and that his wrist cannot rotate, so I can't have him do the - well, let's just say that's one hilariously outstretched middle finger.

I agree 100% with you !

My solution to the "Fundamental Scale Issue" of the TF toys is to divide my Movieverse collection into sub-sets according to the best scale matching:

Sub-set 1) That's the main scale: OP, Megatron, Starscream are Leader class; Ironhide and Ratchet are Voyager class; BB, Sideswipe, Twins, Jolt , Sideways, Scorponock and Barricade are Deluxes; Legends Ravage. A Voyager Crankcase would fit here very well.

Sub-set 2) Ultimate Devastator & Leader Jetfire; OP, Megatron, Fallen, Starscream, Lugnut, Mindwipe, Black-out & most constructicons are Voyager class; Ironhide, Ratchet, Rampage are Deluxe class; the Twins are Legend class. I will add 2 or 3 Deluxe Crankcases here.

Sub-set 3) All Human-alliance figures + Deluxe Ravage

Sub-set 4) ROTF MMP Battle Ops BB + Deluxe Arcee, Cromia & Elita-1.

Of course, if you concentrate in only 1 scale sub-set, it is better to wait for a Voyager Crankcase. It would be really great, but may not happen (unfortunately)
