I wonder if TRU.com made a mistake on the price and that's why they pull the listing? That might also explain why some orders went to back-ordered to they can cancel them. $15.00 price cut + free shipping seems to be too good a deal...

Aww man, I was so excited when I first saw this post but then it turned out to be sold out already. :BANG_HEAD:

Well, I guess it's time to start checking TRU's website every day hoping they get new stock in, because I for one refuse to pay scalper prices on this. Hopefully everyone does the same thing and the scalpers are forced to sell their stock at retail prices (fat chance, I know).

I'm happy some of you got it, but I paid $76 last week when I found mine. I would like a price adjust. What do u think the chances of that are? Will they honor online pricing u think?

Price adjust would be nice,I'd like that too. But how? The item is no longer online, so there's no proof of lower price.
I'm just happy that I have one, $76 is still better than buying from eBay. Only some ppl are lucky to get it at discounted price, but I bet they were worried a lot before today.

GRRRR...so pissed off! I just called TRU help line and the associate could give me no verification that the figure had been on the website. I told her to talk to a manager and see if a confirmation of the online price could be sent to me so I could take it to local TRU and get the credit on the (2) Thundercracker figures I purchased...she didn't help me :-(

. I had to drive a 100 miles to get these bad boys as my local TRU did not have them in stock. I called the store at 1pm central time and they actually held 2 for me until I could get there at 8:30 PM. I shouldn't bitch, but for what I paid in gas plus the cost of the figures I might has well have paid a friggin' scalper on Ebay!!! If anybody is able to get confirmation of the $55.99 price please let me know!! I want my damn $30 bucks off so I can put it towards Prime in December! :BANG_HEAD:

I was able to order one online this AM but soon after was emailed that he's backordered. I'm expecting the order to get cancelled outright.

At least I found one at my local TRU soon after, although he's much more expensive.

I have a bad feeling he's gonna be real limited. First off, TRU knows they can charge $70 for it. Second, it's too early for the Christmas deluge of mass-quantity toys. Finally, he's not a 'major' character like Prime or Grimlock.

Let's hope this isn't a problem with MP Prime.

Seriously, I swear the Northeastern US is one of if not THE last locality to get the most recent waves. Prime RID Powerizer Starscream and Bulkhead have only just appeared on my local TRU shelves and nowhere else!!! :BANG_HEAD:

*sigh* Still I can't complain beyond that. I only just started my MP collection with #10 (Takara version) and the new Seeker mold is well done. Should look nice next to its deluxe counterpart.

And now, when I click on any of those links, it comes up "Item Not Found", like it never even existed. DAMMIT. I always get screwed on these things. You'd think, knowing how popular these items (Masterpieces) are that TRU would either buy more stock to sell, knowing that they'd sell out, or that Hasbro wouldn't limit them to just one store.

When MP Rodimus came out, I had NO luck finding him in stores, but after the initial craze was over, found one on eBay for not much more than I'd have paid in store anyway. I'm hoping that'll be the case next time.

Yep, I expect you're right, though there will probably be more Prime's. Still, it makes me glad I got the Takara version of Prime. Here's hoping Takara decides to do a few more repaints of MP-11 so that I don't have to deal with domestic retail exclusives and the scalpers that feed on them

. In fact, come to think of it, I can't recall any Takara figure that I've ever NOT been able to obtain after release. Plenty of Hasbro releases, but never imports/Takara. I wonder why that is...

Can anyone confirm if this happened when Hasbro MP Grimlock/Hot Rod came out?

If you don't like scalpers complain to Hasbro and ask them to release in larger quantities.

It did when Hot Rod came out, yes, though they did do a subsequent restock which was better as I recall. I'm sure the same will happen with TC, but I'm not holding my breath that he'll have any decent availability. The store exclusives always seem to be short-stocked these days.

Luckily, I got one this morning but unluckily I was so impatient that I bought one on eBay the night before for $119.94...Luckily though I bought said figure from Seibertron on ebay so it should arrive in pristine condition. If anybody want's to buy the premature ebay purchase, it can be had for $119.94.

I'm probably going to wait on Takara to release one that will likely look better (and cost way more of course

). But for me, better Takara gets my money than the scalpers (seriously, screw those guys

Talked with a manager at my local TRU and she said they get tons of calls a day about TC and OP with a handful of regulars that form a line the morning at the front of the store on shipment days. She seemed fine with it as they get more business. Like other casual collectors this is frustrating and reminds me of the sneaker-game. Hasbro creates a limited release, demand goes up, and we play to it.

We can start by not paying double on ebay for these items. As bidders we have the most power on setting the price. For limited releases we should direct our frustration at Hasbro in the form of complaint emails/calls. As buyers we can refrain form buying extra items to then sell, save one for your fellow collector (or kid). These are somethings we can do to help out our community.

I see that he is back up at the retail price of $69.99, I wonder if they had taken down the link yesterday due to a pricing error and to cover their asses and not sell the item for $55.99, they sent a "item on backorder" email to those that did "purchase" him yesterday at the sale price...wonder if TRU will honor the sale price and not screw those that did manage to complete their transaction :BANG_HEAD:
