What amuses me is now the "list price" is now $99.99 and they've "discounted" it to $69.99, even though probably the entire collector community knew this would be a $69.99 figure. :-?

It sucks, I saw this post early in the morning while at work, but I figured buying something online at work was a little unprofessional (never mind being on the internet at work), so I figured "I'll order one when I get home". No dice. Does anyone know if Hasbro Thundercracker is being retailed at Canadian Toys R Us? I didn't see him on the Canadian site, but I do have a Toys R Us somewhat close, thinking of making the trip.

I found out that the friend I asked to get Thundercracker asked her son to check out the Toys R Us near his college and he got it at the online price. Wooo, I'm happy. She is also able to get it into the country for free since her other son has work connections here and it can be posted locally. No import taxes on it. Talk about a result.

Well, I ordered one early yesterday morning, just a couple hours or so after the news of the 55.99 online price was posted. My order status at TRU.com still says "item located in stock", which, aording to the site, means that the item has been located in their warehouse.

My card has been charged, my expected delivery date is 9/7-9/12. We'll see if the order status updates, or maybe he'll just show up tomorrow.

I wouldn't bother yet, he hasn't been sighted in Canada at all yet. We should be getting him, we just usually get stuff later than the US.

I thought that's silly, too. For the most part, the only people who are going to get this figure are collectors. I've always understood that's essentially who Masterpieces are made for. What parent is going to buy a $60-70 toy that is going to get thrashed in ten minutes and is complicated to transform, to boot? That being said, collectors ARE the ones most likely to know everything about this figure and the ones likely to buy it, so we're going to know that it's always intended to be priced at $69.99. Besides, isn't the list price what "suggested retail price" should be? That seems funny since TRU is the only one offering this figure.

I went to five different TRUs in the northern VA area and none had any in stock. In fact, only one of the stores even had the shelf tag for him. The Fair Lakes store had a shelf tag around the time the planogram changed last month, but the tag is gone now.

I'd love to pick him up 1) to have a proper Thundercracker (instead of my MP-03 standing in for him) and 2) to get an affordable example of this mold since I doubt Hasbro will repaint it as anyone else.

Hopefully Optimus will see a wider release...

I just Tweeted at them about this. That's crap. I don't mind them being sold out but raising the price after a day is garbage.

It sucks, but it's also understandable. They made a mistake on the initial posting and sold it for less than they were supposed to. From what I've heard, that price is being honored to those who got in on it. But the current price is the actual price, and the in store price so it only makes sense they were going to raise it to that.

It's a joke how you cry about getting it for the error price. It was an error, shut the hell up. A transformers geek like you must know these were meant to be priced at $70. Do you have any consideration for the people(s) making that error on the website and losing their job(s)over the mistake. You collectors make me sick at the lack of caring, only your bubble world matters.

I didn't realize it was a mistake. I also didn't get it yet. I found out that stuff when I went there to buy it. I went to both TRU stores here and they didn't have it. So, in reality, you really freaked out on me for nothing.

There is no need for the hate against Toys R Us because they are being fairly decent about the whole thing. The original price was obviously a mistake. If something is too good to be true, it normally is. This happens with online companies and I have first hand experience with dealing with mistakes like this. When they were made aware of the error they pulled the listing so they could correct it. They then had two options. Cancel the orders or honor them. They chose to honor them. Luckily for me, some stores even honored the lower online price. They have now corrected the error and have relisted the product. Toys R Us are going to lose money over this error and people are bitching. Lets have a bit of perspective please. It's a toy and it was an error on the website.

Btw, I seriously doubt anyone will be fired over this error. The most that would happen is they would have a dressing down by their department head and told to be more careful in the future.

There is no need to tell somebody to "shut the hell up" plain and simple. You could have got your point across without that.

Got a shipping notice at the discounted price. I feel relieved; honoring the discount is a nice bonus.

For the dude in VA, next week at the earliest. Their distribution center is the same as PA's and it hasn't seen any MP figs yet.

I was finally able to find some!! I'd called a TRU about 20 minutes from my house and was told that another one on the other side of the valley was showing 4 as "pending", meaning they were expected to arrive the following day. Who showed up to be first in line in the store? This geek

. I was able to find all 4 from the case on the shelves. I bought 3- one for me, and two for friends in other states (at cost) who've had zero luck finding him. I could have bought the 4th, but I figured I may as well let someone else's search bear fruit, plus I HATE when scalpers buy all the stock and fans who only want the one figure get screwed into paying more than they should on eBay.

Agreed. I just know that I've had bad dealings with TRU in the past and I honestly assumed that they just raised the price because they realized what the demand was after it was posted. When I originally started trash talking, I didn't know it was a mistake.
