I agree, the waist is a bit lacking. I find the bits of missing crotch disturbing.

Fortunately, the rest of the figure is so incredibly awesome I find I can work through it.

So very glad I preordered at $170. Just a few more weeks...

Ease of transformation isnt what makes a masterpiece, its all the little details that make this as close to perfection as possible. G1 Soundwave is awesome I agree but this moves things on.

That sniff was a very sniff in-depth review sniiiff. Yes sniff the hips aren't perfect sniff but at least it still has plenty of articulation sniff. Also sniff the hips sniff and sniff in fact sniff EVERYTHING about this figure sniff look so much better than the planned 3rd sniff party sniff offerings sniiiiiiiff.

That sniff chap sniff seems sniff to sniff breath rather loudly sniff.

I agree with most posts that the overall cost of this figure is way beyond my budget as much as I would like to have all Takara versions. I waited for TRU Prime, Grimlock, Rodimus, and will hope and pray that Hasbro gives this piece a domestic release for around 79.99 to 119.99. I wil not pay more for this than I did for Optimus...that would be complete insanity.I'm almost tempted to just buy the tapes and use my G1 Reissue Soundwave.

Great review. I only wish he had shown off the packaging, instructions and whatever bio cards (if any) comes with it.

Definitely waiting for the U.S. version. Import prices are always going to be higher, but nearly $200.00 for a toy is crazy to me.

Still can't believe the cassettes are the same size yet include greater articulation and built-in guns. I :BOWDOWN:

to Takara's amazing level of engineering.

People often take news and reviews for granted. Posting news/reviews take a lot of extra work and it's often easier to tear something down than put something together as Fanboy has eloquently demonstrated. I am guessing that you probably didn't mean that each and every one of us is unthankful. But instead we should remember to appreciate the hard work that goes into reviews and news reporting.

If everyone was like you, there would be no one to buy Masterpieces on eBay from, since everyone would be trolling eBay for Masterpieces. Takara would have no reason to produce these great figures, as there would be no profit derived from manufacturing a complex Masterpiece figure at the $40 price point the market demanded.

See? You should be thanking us saps who buy the figure new, and are generous enough to give trolls like you the opportunity to buy Masterpiece Transformers at too-good-to-be-true prices.

I don't mind this review. I mean that he can have different opinions, but I will buy this guy anyways. I'm gonna write my own review as well and people can then agree with me or not.

Many of us don't wait any Hasbro version, because there ain't gonna be one. There are many TRU stores, but none of them sell MP-toys. Hasbro has dropped the ball so many times, what comes to the marketing of certain products, so I don't even wait to see MP-13 here in scandinavia.

Yes, as we know "cheap" and "high quality" always go hand in hand. Usually cheap is cheap, but it doesn't mean that MP-figures should be each 500$ or something like that.

I also don't really understand why his transformation should be so much more complex. He is a freaking casette walkman :lol:

How difficult that should be to transform one. Megatron and Rodimus are complex enough. Actualy so complex, that it kills some of the fun factor. Not to mention that it may actually kill Megatron if transformed.
