Armada Tidalwave work very well. He's a giant and the toy is almost a supreme class so it work. I cant post pictures because my Cyberverse army is still buried deep in boxes.

Hmmm I've got Energon Tidal Wave but he's normally attached to armada Megatron (wish I had the galvatron repaint, feel that energon tidal wave works better colour wise).

Actually, Tidal Wave himself is a really good design (in my opinion), he may not be able to hide all his robot parts in boat mode but the concept of him is great. U love the interaction with his minicon. Plus you can use his arms on Cybertron Optimus Prime

Though having a Terrorcon cyberverse army (comprised of every repaint I can find of the beast hunters terrorcon team) crawling all over him with Predaking looking on. Scale wise I could use cyberverse commander Predaking again.

Thanks Cobotron :) Only have a few tfs out at the moment, the rest are packed away, my shelves are depressingly empty.

A flock of Divebombs would be AWESOME!
What do you all think of this? I always thought, based on design, Divebomb is a fembot.
long legs, sassy boots, fashionable color scheme. In my world she and BW Scout Airazor have an intense rivalry.

I really need to get into the Cyberverse bandwagon. I spotted the AoE Legends Grimlock and Strafe (basically redecoes of Cyberverse Windrazor and Rippersnapper) but decided against them as the other members of the team likely haven't been redecoed and are hard to find in their original colours (most of the Prime stock has long since been cleared from shelf space in my local stores). I do have a bunch of Minicons who could stand in for legends though- Armada Firebot makes a good Optimus Prime in my book (I always like Prime better as a fire engine than a truck).

I really wish I'd bought that Grimlock now. The guy looks like fun, and I do love that weird little landshark mode. He'd make a neat Repugnus.

And I see Jetstorm being the undefeated king of the areal dogfighting ring.

That aside, I never thought of Divebomb as a fembot, it works though.

I think the reason I always saw him as a male wa because his head looked so much like Air Hammer.

Oh and speaking of Energon Divebomb, check this little piece of awesomeness I just found online

Image

Of course, some customising is needed:

1.Clicked of the wings from Energon Divebomb
2.Cut 2 sliding slots in the thick black plastic hinge behind Vector Prime head
3.Carved the brown'ish backside of Diverbomb to fit the KeySlot of Vector Prime
4.Clicked on the sort of Energon Divebomb's Tonfa's into Vector Primes hands

Going back on my earlier thoughts on this, and after Auto Assembly, I have rediscovered the glory of Animated Voyager Optimus Prime.

Chunky vehicle mode? Check.
Image

Animated silhouette robot? Check.
Image
Image

All accessories stored in both modes? Great poses? Movable faceplate? Spinning automorph legs? Checkity check.

I'll see myself out.

Va'al, was there a north american wide release of Animated Voyager Prime? He looks awesome and I would be interested to find one to go up against my leader Megs since my deluxe cybertronian prime wouldnt be able to put much of a fight.

Also, I cannot get over Evasion Mode Optimus from AOE ever since I got him 2 weeks ago(I got the tru exclusive 2 pack with premium deco). He is my candidate for best AOE toy and his design is superb in a two fold manner.

Firstly, the perfect merger of the classic (smooth G1) look and the more detailed and jagged movie look. The truck mode is phenominal and so is the robot mode, they both look perfect in what they are attempting to achieve.

Secondly, the transformation. Every part found in one mode is used in the other, making each panel serve as two independent sections or details. Everything is handled meticulously. This also makes him absolutely kibble free in both modes. I love how this in turn makes the truck mode so small as compared to the robot mode (akin to one of my all time favourite deluxe molds: animated lockdown).

The posability of the forearms is an issue I have, but both mods are so perfect for that they are that his robot mode seems more like a permanently posed statue that would not be able to convert back, and in that sense, the arms not being able to bend the right way kind of make sense.

In any case, Hasbro may be cost cutting, but I dont see it in this design, it seems they went all out.

Just got to play again with HFTD deluxe Battle Blade Bumblebee and I remembered how INSANE he is. First of, this deluxe is BIG. It's also hyper detailed, is pretty movie accurate in both modes and he have non intruisive gimmicks. The battlemask, the arm canon, and a bonus ax! He also have a very complex but intuitive transformation. This toy have a very high budjet and it show.

Finally, he was sold as a regular deluxe, at regular deluxe price.

Then, some years later, we have deluxes like FOC Jazz...

It's like being used to truffle flavored caviar for the price of beans... then the caviar is replaced by actual beans... So, yeah...

Congrats on being news staff now William :) as for animated prime, the voyager in his normal colours was part of the second wave (I think) of voyagers, can't remember who his wave mates were. Though I do like his Elite Guard colours, he's going on my animated wish list.

new to the thread and havent read the last 8 pages. so if im just repeating things, sorry.

EMOP is great. even though he has some transformation cheats (robot chest) he pulls both modes off perfectly. its crazy to think something like that came out of the same line as those two backpack primes...

ROTF bludgeon is also quite the feat of engineering. very intricate transformation.

Animated had some great toys, but next to Blitzwing these truly stand out:

Image

Jetfire & Jetstorm, and their combined form:

Image

Safeguard

OK, this is my bias towards combiners speaking, but as far as combiners go, he's one of a kind. Jetfire and Jetstorm hardly have kibble in robot mode, true their jet modes really look like robots doing yoga, but the fact they're mirror molds and the combining technique used is unique (in Transformers at least, not so for the Brave series), make them marvels.

Honestly surprised this guy hasn't been brought up in this thread yet. (I looked; he hasn't.)

I mean, look at this mean mother hubbard. For a $10 figure compared to the $40 Leader class one, the articulation on this one's robot mode is absolutely insane. Ball-jointed elbows, balljointed neck, double-hinged shoulders, ball-jointed hips, hinged knees, and double-hinged feet. And, to top it all off, almost no kibble gets in the way. This makes the posing possibilities damn near endless.

It also remains accurate to the cartoon in both modes, and it even still has a Trailer hitch that fits the leader class toy's trailer, despite being incompatible with it in robot mode.

How could you possibly not love this guy?
PLEASE contact me if you have any of the following, or know where I can find them:
[list]
[*]Cybertron Leader Class Optimus Prime's wings
[*]Powermaster Optimus Prime's Supermode Head
[*]Powermaster Optimus Prime's "Super Smokestacks", or whatever those big grey guns on his Supermode shoulders are called
[*]G1 Optimus Prime's left arm, preferably with the long smokestack

Thank you.

That might be the first time I've seen anyone say good things about animated Jetfire and Jetstorm. I actually liked their vehicle modes, made them look as though they were from the Wipeout or F-Zero game series. There was a few things I didn't like about them though, namely their hands and the redundant super mode fist on their other leg. I feel that they could of hidden the first one with a flap, and in place of the other fist, have boosters for the combined form

I prefer perfectly symmetric twins, so the redundant fists make sense from an esthetics point of view.

I agree. I love it when a deluxe just rocks your socks off. He is a solid toy.
I just reluctantly picked up Gen O.Pax. I usually try not to get to many Primes, but man, he really surprised me. Great transformation, awesome robot mode, and very little kibble. I have him balancing on one foot right now.
