Hey guys,

As I was trying to de-yellow some G1 figures, I had to use a black light in the process for it's UV light to interact with the solution I applied.
Since I had other transformers in the room (mostly optimuses), I decided to see what they looked like under the UV light. Man, I didnt know the paint they used was phosperescent.

Let me know if anyone recognises the figures in the dark.

As an artist, I can appreciate this.

Pretty cool images.
It would be interesting to explore this a bit more in photos.

Be careful with that black light and what else it might reveal in the room.

UV exposure will yellow your white TFs (and possibly discolor others) in a heartbeat. Be careful! Or, just limit the amount of time you do this with them to a very short time period

Oh dont worry, this was just for fun as I was applying the UV rays for a reverse chemical reaction. You see, as much as they turn transformers yellow, they can also help whiten them again if you shine it onto a yellowed transformer covered in Hydrogen Peroxide. Which is what I was doing.

Look at the effects the UV rays had with the peroxide:

Is the hydrogen peroxide in gel form or is it in a bag or something? I can't tell what's going on in that 2nd pic...

You need to get the 12% cream version that is used for removing hair colour (in the beauty section of Walmart or a drug store, pictured below). I dabbed it on the figure and then put daran wrap over it so that the solution would not evaporate under the UV light (it would quickly, leaving your figure naked under the light halting any reverse chemical reaction).

I was hearing sitar music in my mind while looking at the UV pics.

Haha, awesome!

I didnt need to whiten wheeljack since he hadn't yellowed, but I did have to clean him with a degreaser to remove the staining present.
