I actually prefer the non ratcheting waist of my TRU BW 10th Anniv. figure. Anyways you got a pretty good deal with the TRU 10th Anniv. set instead of trying to find the more expensive Takara versions with slightly different paint apps and the cd rom with pictures. THis at least frees up more money to buy other stuff.

So true!!! I advise anyone whose interested in buying Beast Wars to go ahead and Purchase the 10th Anniversary Toys R Us exclusive set from Toys R US online.. it ships fast, and came in mint condition to my house.. its the best way to grab the updated Optiumus Primal and Megatron 2 Pack.. its also the best price for it too!! It will no doubt be selling for higher prices on the 2nd market for alot more as time goes by and once Toys R Us sells out...

Still I have made my choices..

Optimus Primal the 10th Anniversary reissue 2-Pack is the best representation of the actual cartoon character.. he's a nice size, very posable and looks great.. the paint applications are flawless and make him really stand out as a figure.. So in my opinion, he's the best, but he beats out the Takara Reissue Optimus Primal/RM Repaint, only just because of his size!!
Image

Second Place winner!!! Not to be discounted either is the Takara Reissue/RM repaint.. Optimus primal, though smaller and less detailed he is quite accurate color wise and has a great playability factor.. Nice!!

Image
though a wonderful Gallery, I did Notice in Ryans Gallery, there were no images of Primals arm canons displayed...Please can we get some updates??

Image

All Around I gotta go with the reissue Takara figure though... its in scale to the others and very nice looking with the metallic paint and show accurateness... take that Master Piece starscream!!!
Image

Image

he almost makes me want to revise my opinion, but I'm a sucker for the Larger transformers...

Still out to lunch on which megatron is the best...

What is your opinion? Whose the Best Beast Wars megatron and Optimus Primal?

Transmetal Megatron for me. I don't know why, but It's just one of my favs. And for Primal is Optimal Optimus, simply because he's a triple changer, and he's pretty freaking huge.

You know the only Problems I have with the Upgraded Transmetals figures is Optimus Primal, Transmetal Megatron, and Transmetal Megatron 2.

Now before ya'll get huffy.. hear me out..

Optimus primal Transmetal:
Image
Image

The problem with this design is that he's too much a metal Ape in one form, and then a half organic and machine Ape in Robot form. Its got a ridiculous face, and a chest that looks very organic.. but its kinda sick iof you think about real flesh being grafted over the robot bits, similar to STNG when Data was given human skin by the Borg Queen.. Yuck!!!

I know the other "first" Optimus primal had hair all over his body, but one can surmise that the hair may actually be metal fibers so fine that they react and seem like hair but in reality are part of the machine..

I just don't like the constipated look on the face of transmetals Optimus primal..

Optimal optimus:
Image
This is a great figure, only I thought his face and head seemed a bit small for his body..which ended up him loosing a fair amount of detailing..

Transmetal megatron:
Image
Image

What can you say about a redesigned Robo Godzilla?? I mean he's rediculously hiodeous, IMO, I don't like the coloring, the hands are basic.. the face seems very plain, and the whole shoulders and tail weapon are ok.. but not the best upgrade.. plus, come on...saddle bag jets??? every time I see him fly off in the show, I laugh...

Transmetals 2 Megatron:

Image
Image
Image

What a nice3 try at a decent figure.. but he falls short in many areas.. one he's got a totallyt gimpy little arm on his right side, then we have issues in the neck area..there was so much potential in this figure to have great posability, and great likeness to the show character.. and they just didn't give it that extra umph it needed to be a really fantastic character designed toy..

The reason I stick with the Original Designed Version is simple.. the toys they released of those be it the RM repaint reissue, or the 2 Pack deal Leader class, is because they did it right... they did the extra little steps top make him the best representation of the TV show in Plastic format.. so that's why I stick to my guns about the original reissue versions of these characters.. sure you can site how huge and cool Optimal optimus is, but unless he's close to your face, he ain't gonna hear ya with that small noggin...

I'm not telling you to chuck your toys, heck I'm not telling you to even pick a side.. I just want you to notice what you like best about these Beast wars Faction Leaders, and what i found that I want out of my Beast Wars leaders is Likeness, color accuracy, show accurate proportions, quality made parts, and good articulation..

Mainly they need to be very show accurate (*paint apps, Likeness)..first... then articulation second..

I'm glad I wasn't into beast wars when it first vcame out.. though i pay alot more, I get better representations then the original releases ever had!!
Image
Image
So even still I have a tough time between the 2-Pack and Robot Masters versions, but I like large figures so the 2-Pack wins.. but I'm glad I own both!!!

All time worst likeness Beast Wars toy... the first Black arachnia!!! geez what a joke that figure was!!!

Yes Beast Wars fan, I'm picking apart your childhood!!!

I actually stopped collecting transformers toys when I was a kid, and I saw TM Optimus... I thought: "Okay, now Optimus changes from a gorilla to a gorilla... This is the end for Transformers..." But now, I actually have him, and it's not that bad as it looks at first sight. The robot mode with the gun equipped looks allright.

The only backfire of TM2 Megatron is the colour scheme... Shining bright Red??? Please, no. I allready hated, when the first one was bright purple (and I didn't saw the show at that time)

I actually like the way they reversed the animal vs. machine aesthetics of the Transmetals. All of them are metalic robot-like animals with animal/fleshy or cyborg-esque looking robots. Makes them stand out a bit more from the original BW figures of realistic animal and metalic robot.
