Who is the leader of the coneheads?

Postby Wreckage42 » Sun Aug 08, 2010 8:25 pm

Ok, so today I got my first conehead/seeker generations toy(thrust) . So I started to do re4search on them, and it got me to thinking. Is there a laeder of the coneheads. Or are they led by starsceam aswell. If they have a leader(besides megatron), who is it? :???:

Their Commander is Starscream.

As the coneheads are seekers, they fall under his control as Decepticon Air Commander.

I agree with Editor that Starscream is their commander. If Dirge, Ramjet, and Thrust were left alone to fend for themselves though, I'd think Thrust would rise to the occasion. Ramjet, however, has kind of risen to star status over the past few years though so he might be a contender. Dirge, most definitely, would just follow in my opinion.

In my opinion if left without Starscream to command, Thrust would try to lead but would quickly abdicate when Ramjet(whom I'm using his IDW Spotlight personality as a basis) bully'ed him. Dirge as Seibertron said would just follow along.

That's strange, I'd always viewed the Coneheads as a totally separate unit from the Seekers, possibly even serving a different function. Thrust was used as a messenger once or twice if I remember correctly, as well as for reconnaissance. Since they never really interacted with Starscream at all as a unit, I'd always assumed they were just separate airborne fighters. In my fan fic, though, I've decided who their master is...

Yeah Starscream as the commander, but I'd vote for Thrust, for the coneheads as well.

Senator Ratbat,

I have always thought the same thing. Even though it is a product of events related to Earth and the Ark, it seems that there have always been two distinct divisions within the Decepticon 'Air Force': The 'Seekers' under the command of Starscream on Earth and the 'Coneheads' under 'Thrust' on Cybertron. Especially within the various comic story-arcs, it seems that there is little interaction between characters such as Thundercracker, Skywarp, Dirge, or Thrust -- the first two have there own agenda/mission similarly to the last two...

Where do Dreadwind and Darkwing fit into the Decepticon 'Air Force'? Are they lone agents without any particular affiliation beyond being Powermasters?

Coincidence but Ramjet has the same decal decos as Starscream, and the aforementioned "Seeker" tended to be the leader in the"Dinobot Island" episode.

Ok, so I went and looked at all the old stat cards that came with the seekers. Starscream's function is Air Commander. The rest of them have warrior. But noticed it said SS is the fastest flyer at mach 2.8. Ramjet can fly at mach 2.8 and likes to crash into things. Dirge doesn't give a speed, just mostly says he's fearful. Thrust flys at mach 2.5 and can double it for 20 seconds. Skywarp is just sneaky and flies at 1500mph. And last, Thundercracker flies at 1500mph as well, and has to be talked into fighting. So with reviewing the old cards. Starscream is at the top of list with the seekers. Blitzwing's stat card says his functions are Ground & Air Commander, but I'm guessing that's after SS is vaporized to dust from the movie. So as far as I can tell the coneheads didn't have a commander as for just their group, they were more warriors to add to the Decepticon army. I'd still vote for Thrust because unlike Ramjet, who seems to only want to run into things, he sees the battle as already won if you can psych out your enemy.
After looking at some of the other fliers speeds I decided to check everyones and just throwing them out for anyone to see, Scourge: 260mph, Cyclonus: mach 2, Blastoff: 26,000mph, Apeface: 3250mph, Snapdragon: 8,800mph, Sixshot: 80,000mph, Buzzsaw & Laserbeak: 250mph (and Buzzsaw has a ego, ha ha), Ratbat: 25mph, Misfire: 1,600mph, Slugslinger: 2,400mph, Triggerhappy: 1,980mph, Octane: 750mph, Blitzwing: mach 2.7, Astrotrain: 20,000mph in orbit and 50,000mph out of orbit. SS is the fastest seeker, but he's got nothing on Sixshot.

Starscream's bio specs in G1 is mixed up with Skywarp's. Not the personality specs which is spot on.

Starscream is the Air Commander and leader of the command trine, Starscream, Skywap and Thundercracker. My understanding is that Starscream leads not only the Seekers, but other air-based alt. modes guys even including the triple changers.

The "Coneheads" are the second tier trine. Though I haven't seen anything official, Ramjet seems to be their leader, or at least the only one of them who has consistantly shown a desire to be so.

I definitely can't imagine Thrust as the leader. Remember the Golden Lagoon episode? Thrust discovered the electrum pond and didn't even make a play for power when he went straight back to base to share with all the others.

Dirge seems too apathetic to be the leader of anyone or anything. He's more of the Dead End of the Seekers group.
In a place such as this, you are the perfect prey for a brest animal!

Your talking about the specs along the side that you have to decode with the red viewfinder. I was going straight off the bio part on the left. I think we're on the same page here. Didn't know about the mix up though.

They're Powermasters, and pretty much their own entity.

As for the Coneheads, I've always seen Ramjet as the 'leader', mainly because he's got the muscle to back up his mouth, whilst Thrust is just all mouth and no trousers.

I personally think that the leader is Dirge. A lot of people think it would be Ramjet because he has the most strength, Although that is true whenever the decepticons needed the Cone Heads they would talk to Dirge. Also Dirge seems to be the smartest among the three. Starscream is the air commander so I guess he's technically the leader but if it was just the coneheads it would probably be Dirge. c:
