PROFILE: Before the Great War Slingblade was a monk living an ascetic existence at the Steelforest Mount Monastery in the high sierras of the Sonic Canyons, seeking unity with Primus through Circuit-Su meditation techniques. The outbreak of Civil War weighed heavy on his conscience and so, after much thought and a discussion with the monastery's Master, Slingblade left to join the Autobot cause. A quiet, meditative Autobot Slingblade only speaks when necessary and even then softly and concisely.
Assigned to an Autobot Long Range Recon Patrol unit due to his martial skills and fast, agile flight mode, Slingblade was among the first on hand at the fall of Altihex. Alongside his fellow LRRP unit members Plaindrifter, Wildflight and Scarlock he fought a desperate but valiant holding action, as Autobot Search and Rescue units did their best to evacuate survivors, that gave them a fearsome reputation amongst both factions.
ABILITIES: Slingblade is exceptionally proficient in Jetkyùndo (the Way of the Jet Fist), a form of Metallikato developed by the legendary Longpunch and passed on to the Steelforest Mount monks as a way to exercise their mental discipline without neglecting their physical conditioning.
In Robot mode he carries a compact Sub-Machine Gun and for close combat wields a Zero-Friction Wakizashi.
His Circuit-Su practice has heightened his perception and awareness of his surroundings at all times making him amazingly stealthy and an excellent 'Nap-of-the-earth' pilot able to use geographical features to mask his approach, only 'popping up' just enough to use his (rotor mast-mounted) radar, FLIR Thermal Imaging and other sensors and minimally exposing himself to launch his weapons.
In helicopter mode has a maximum speed 380 mph, which he can boost briefly to MACH 1 using his short burst Turbo Thrusters, and an operational ceiling of 6,400 m (21,000 ft). He is armed with a nose mounted Chain Gun and carries two stub-wing mounted Rocket Pods that fire Flechette Anti-Armour rockets.
WEAKNESSES: As with any rotary-wing aircraft Slingblade can be grounded by severe weather conditions.
