Lodestar's Bio
FUNCTION: Autobot Military Transport
PROFILE: Lodestar was originally a successful cybertronian merchant, one of Iacon's major oligarchs with a lot of clout with the council. A hard-nosed but generally benevolent Buisnessmech possessed of an excellent processor for figures, Lodestar believed in the 'hands-on' approach and often worked himself in lower positions in his financial empire. It was due to his work ethic that he used his own Starship alt. mode as his primary shipping vessel, he felt it also gave a 'personal touch' to his services. No naif he had himself fitted with an impressive 'security system', that made him one of the heaviest armed pre-war cybertronians, both to deter potential thieves or raiders and assure potential customers. This is probably what made him a target of Decepticon insurgents who saw him as a major asset to Autobot resistance. Lodestar was duped into delivering a false consignment that concealed a bomb in it and would have been blown to dust if the device hadn't misfired. Sees the war as a waste as the gradual devastation of Cybertron is no good for anyone.
Crippled by his sabotaged cargo, Lodestar was lucky to be adrift in the same space shipping lane as the stranded Scarlock who, using components from his own destroyed vessel, was able to patch him up enough to limp back to Cybertron. Indebted Lodestar offered to act as Scarlock's interim spacecraft until he could find or have constructed a new Garuda, not realising this would lead to his being drafted into the pirate Autobot's quest for vengeance. It was Lodestar who convinced Scarlock to pick up Slingblade's LRRP unit during their assault on a dummy Decepticon facility. Lodestar acted unofficially as the A' Blades dropship from then on until he was officially attached to the team when it was formally expanded into a Special Force Unit.
ABILITIES: Transforms into a Cybertronian Frigate armed with two fore and two aft short-range Turbolasers, two Photon Torpedo Launchers, a High-Impact Laser Blaster Cannon and two omni-directional Ion Cannon turrets. His Quad Ion Drive thrusters allow him a maximum speed of 35,0000 MPH and he is fitted with Galaxial class transwarp drive for deep space travel.
In robot mode uses a multistage High-Impact Laser Blaster Rifle that fires electromagnetically accelerated beams of concentrated coherent light with an effective range in atmosphere of 3 miles.
WEAKNESSES: Lodestar's massive size makes him an easy target on the batttlefield. His frigate mode is more suited to spaceflight than inner atmospheric flight and is both less manoeverable as well as more fuel consuming to maintain flight. More used to the outer space environment Loadstar sometimes forgets to compensate for the effects of gravity when aiming his weapons on planet surfaces.
