Nightfreight's Bio
FUNCTION: Autobot Desert Warfare Expert
PROFILE: Nightfreight, a native of the oil-rich Desert Emirates of Cybertron, follows the highly ascetic Primus-based religion common to the Emirates. Cheerful and generous he is always happy to share his energon with fellow Autobots. When in vehicle mode this is hard to tell though as, being used to merrily plying his way through (sometimes entirely roadless) deserts (and it has to be said the bustling, 'chaotic' city centres of the Emirates) he has little to no concept of driving etiquette. Charging along without regard for speed limits, stop signs, traffic signals, road markings or his fellow road users, friendlily blasting his horn as he passes by. He can often be found either at prayer or consulting his copy of the ancient holy book 'Primus Recited'.
Nightfreight came into contact with the Altihex Blades when they were on mission to sabotage a Decepticon fuel refinery in the Emirates. Working as a part of the active resistance to Megatron's forces in the area, he chose to join them after Slingblade was injured intercepting, and taking the brunt of, a Shrapnel Bomb meant for him.
While not a zealot Nightfreight does not understand how other cybertronians cope with life without religion, he wonders "Does it not seem purposeless?". He does however enjoy conversation with those of differing religious views as he believes "There are many paths to primus."
ABILITIES: In robot form uses a Dual 'Sandstorm' Missile Launcher ('Sandstorm' warheads generate a temporary vortex of highly abrasive silicates and 'Glass Gas' that encompass the target on detonation, attacking and degrading their armour) and an Energo Falchion in a 'whirling dervish' circular movement based swordfighting style with a speed and grace that defies his larger size. He is also as strong as his size would imply, able to physically lift over 80 tons. Modified for desert conditions he is fitted with deployable anti-silicate goggles to protect his optics (which can see into the infra-red range), retractable filters to prevent particles entering his gas filtration systems and a motion detector that allows him to detect enemy movement in zero visibility conditions such as heavy sandstorms.
Desert Armoured Semi Truck mode is armed with Twin Gatling Cannons, his Dual 'Sandstorm' Missile Launcher and is reinforced with ablative armour plating. His vehicle mode has Special wide-tread, low-pressure desert tires and his top speed is 130 MPH.
WEAKNESSES: Outside his native environment some of Nightfreight's adaptations are useless, sometimes even detrimental to his effectiveness. Being from a harsh dry hot environment he susceptible to water damage.
