THE HUB TV NETWORK DIVES INTO SUMMER WITH NEW SCHEDULE
AND ‘TRULY OUTRAGEOUS’ SEASON-LONG PROGRAMMING EVENTS

Memorial Day Weekend “Jem and the Holograms” Marathon;
Summer Saturday “Mashups”; Holiday Programming Marathons;
A World TV Premiere Movie Event; Season Premiere
Of Original Series “Family Game Night” and New Episodes of “Pound Puppies”

LOS ANGELES – With the school year ending and sunny days just around the corner, The Hub television network, a destination for kids and their families, will bring viewers a new summer programming schedule that will reflect the seasonal schedules of kids and parents. Viewers can expect a summer full of special holiday marathons of favorite Hub series, a wide array of popular family-friendly movies, and a new “Saturday Mashup” scheduling strategy.

Throughout the summer, “Saturday Mashup” will feature original episodes of series on The Hub in a special themed lineup that will highlight the network’s game shows, comedies, and action/adventure series in designated, kid-friendly blocks.

A preview of the new “Saturday Mashup” programming schedule will debut Memorial Day weekend on Saturday, May 28, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. ET. The Hub will tee up the new Saturday schedule by presenting two back-to-back episodes of each of the popular Hasbro Studios produced series “My Little Pony Friendship is Magic,” “Pound Puppies,” and “Family Game Night,” followed by a three-hour marathon (previously announced) of the first six episodes of “Jem and the Holograms,” an animated series which originally aired in the late 1980s and whose fans are passionate and numerous.

In addition to the framed Saturday programming events, The Hub will present special programming lineups for each of the summer holidays with an emphasis on family-friendly shows that kids and their parents will want to watch together. Memorial Day will be celebrated with the network’s “Hub of the Brave” day-long lineup of programming featuring heroic acts from some of The Hub’s favorite series characters. Father’s Day and Independence Day will feature similar lineups highlighting favorite episodes of “GI Joe: A Real American Hero" and "GI Joe Renegades,” and “Transformers Generation 1” and “Transformers Prime.”

“The Hub Family Movie” will provide a summer escape for the whole family with a roster of movies that include well-known classics such as Free Willy, The Iron Giant, Cats & Dogs, 102 Dalmatians, and Gremlins.

The centerpiece of the movie lineup will be The Hub’s World Television Premiere of “Free Willy: Escape from Pirate's Cove,” starring 11-year-old Australian Bindi Irwin and Beau Bridges in the heartwarming story of a young girl who discovers a baby Orca stranded in a lagoon near her grandfather's rundown seaside amusement park in South Africa, leading her on a quest to return the whale back to his pod.

The Hub’s summer season of family entertainment continues in August with the eagerly anticipated premiere of all new episodes of the animated series “Pound Puppies,” including the voice talents of Eric McCormack and Betty White. The Hub Original Series produced by Hasbro Studios will kick off with an episode following the fearless dogs from Shelter 17 as they set out to have one of their own win a trophy at a regional dog show. The new episodes will be the cornerstone of The Hub’s “Dog Days of Summer" programming event, which will also include favorite canine movies such as Air Bud, Cats & Dogs, and All Dogs Go To Heaven.

Also in August is the second season premiere of The Hub Original Series “Family Game Night.” The live-action family game show returns with all new classic games added as well as brand new original challenges, in a larger-than-life environment that is bigger, better, and more exciting than anything at your kitchen table! As a bonus, August will also play host to special early sneak peeks of The Hub's upcoming new original game shows, "The Game of Life" and "Scrabble Showdown," premiering later in the year. All three game shows are produced by Hasbro Studios.

Hasbro’s Transformers Brand “Rolls Out” a Blockbuster Summer with New Toy Line Launching This Week in Anticipation of Transformers: Dark of the Moon Movie

May 17, 2011 04:11 PM Eastern Daylight Time
PAWTUCKET, R.I.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The iconic TRANSFORMERS brand from Hasbro, Inc. (NASDAQ:HAS - News), which has become one of the most successful entertainment franchises of the 21st century, reaches new heights in 2011 when the heroic AUTOBOTS and the villainous DECEPTICONS once again invade movie theaters around the world to continue their epic battle. The new Paramount Pictures live-action movie from director Michael Bay, and executive producer Steven Spielberg, TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON picks up from the last movie with the DECEPTICONS vowing to avenge their defeat and ultimately results in mysterious ties to the 1960’s space race between the US and USSR. The movie — which will be the first-ever TRANSFORMERS film in 3D — opens worldwide on July 1, 2011. Fans won’t have to wait until then to get in on the TRANSFORMERS action as Hasbro announces the global availability of its TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON toy line at retail locations beginning this week.

As one of the hottest global entertainment properties, the TRANSFORMERS brand launches a deep and innovative product line that captures the excitement of the movie while introducing new play patterns and experiences to the brand for kids and fans alike. Highlights include two new action figure segments — the convertible, interchangeable weapons of the MECHTECH line and the collectability and simpler conversions of the CYBERVERSE line — both featuring popular AUTOBOT and DECEPTICON characters like OPTIMUS PRIME and MEGATRON, as well as characters from the new film including SENTINEL PRIME. And, continuing the innovation TRANSFORMERS toys are known for, the brand is excited to announce the new CINE-MASK 3D role-play masks. These TRANSFORMERS character masks feature built in RealD 3D lenses and can be worn to RealD 3D theater showings or fans can enjoy as a role play mask at home to recreate the TRANSFORMERS fantasy. Following are detailed highlights from the new TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON line.

TRANSFORMERS MECHTECH Action Figures

One of the most innovative toy lines in history introduces the next revolution in TRANSFORMERS action figures with the new MECHTECH line. Each TRANSFORMERS MECHTECH figure comes with a unique converting MECHTECH weapon that is interchangeable with all other core TRANSFORMERS MECHTECH figures. MECHTECH weapons can connect to each other or to TRANSFORMERS MECHTECH figures to “power-up” the figure. Following are highlights of the new MECHTECH line launching at retailers.

TRANSFORMERS MECHTECH Leader Action Figure Assortment
(Approximate retail price: $44.99: Ages: 5+; Available: Now)
The TRANSFORMERS MECHTECH Leader class assortment offers a large scale with tremendous detail, includes lights and sounds, converts from robot to vehicle and comes with a large MECHTECH weapon. Characters include BUMBLEBEE and SENTINEL PRIME. Each figure sold separately. 2 AA batteries included.

TRANSFORMERS MECHTECH Voyager & Deluxe Action Figure Assortments
(Approximate retail price: Voyager $19.99; Deluxe $11.99: Ages: 5+; Available: Now)
The figures in the TRANSFORMERS MECHTECH Voyager class convert from robot to vehicle and offer a unique MECHTECH weapon. Voyager class characters include OPTIMUS PRIME, IRONHIDE, MEGATRON and more. The TRANSFORMERS MECHTECH Deluxe figures convert from vehicle to robot and offer a wide breadth of AUTOBOT and DECEPTICON characters, including BUMBLEBEE, AUTOBOT RATCHET and STARSCREAM. Each figure sold separately.

TRANSFORMERS CYBERVERSE Line

Collectability has been an inherent part of TRANSFORMERS action figures since their inception over twenty-five years ago. The new TRANSFORMERS CYBERVERSE line of action figures is created in a collectable, small scale and features easier robot-to-vehicle conversion than its larger counterparts in the MECHTECH line. The easier conversion and smaller scale allows kids to change the toys from robot to vehicle and play out the TRANSFORMERS fantasy! The new CYBERVERSE line features action figures as well as playsets. Following are highlights of the new CYBERVERSE line launching at retailers.

TRANSFORMERS CYBERVERSE Commander & Legion Action Figure Assortments
(Approximate retail price: Commander $7.99; Legion $4.99: Ages: 5+; Available: Now)
To play out the battle of the AUTOBOTS vs. the DECEPTICONS, the TRANSFORMERS CYBERVERSE Commander class figures convert from robot to vehicle and come with converting accessories and gear to take the battle to the next level. The TRANSFORMERS CYBERVERSE Legion class figures also convert from robot to vehicle and can hold weapons and interact with other CYBERVERSE playsets. More than 20 figures exist within the line to collect. Each figure sold separately. Subject to availability.

TRANSFORMERS ROBOPOWER Line

Featuring TRANSFORMERS role-play items as well as action figures and other toys for the younger TRANSFORMERS fan, the new ROBOPOWER line offers the opportunity for kids, and kids at heart, to “live out” the broad TRANSFORMERS fantasy. Following are highlights from the TRANSFORMERS ROBOPOWER line launching at retailers.

TRANSFORMERS CINE-MASK 3D Masks
(Approximate retail price: $9.99: Ages: 5+; Available: Now)
Get ready for TRANSFORMERS role-play masks that are “MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE!” New to the TRANSFORMERS line, fans can gear up and roll out with the TRANSFORMERS CINE-MASK 3D Masks for an all-new, one-of-a-kind experience. Each role-play mask – offered in OPTIMUS PRIME and BUMBLEBEE styling – functions as a “battle mask” to play out the TRANSFORMERS fantasy as one of these AUTOBOT characters. But in addition, each mask is also equipped with built in RealD 3D lenses that allow fans to watch any movie in a RealD 3D compatible theater! Each mask sold separately.

The TRANSFORMERS brand has delivered “MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE” fun to legions of kids around the world for more than 25 years with action figures that convert from robot to vehicle and back again. Legions of boys around the world grew up creating fantastic adventures and battles set on both the planet CYBERTRON and Earth that featured the heroic AUTOBOTS — like OPTIMUS PRIME and BUMBLEBEE — clashing with the evil DECEPTICONS, led by MEGATRON. The toys’ popularity reached new levels with the release of the first two live-action TRANSFORMERS movies, cementing the toys and the brand as one of the hottest global entertainment properties.

Hasbro wrote:Hello Transformers fans!

First, Hasbro would like to express its sincere thanks to the thousands of fans who voted across the web to help determine the finalists for 2011's Transformers Hall of Fame Fans' Choice inductee.

The finalist ballot is now live on Transformers.com and we encourage fans to visit and vote daily for which Transformers character they would most like to see inducted into the 2011 Transformers Hall of Fame class as this year's Fans' Choice honoree.

The five finalists are: Autobot Erector --- Grimlock --- Autobot Jazz --- Shockwave --- Waspinator

The 2011 Fans’ Choice finalist ballot was created with input from several Transformers collector-fan media outlets, which conducted independent polling of their readers to ensure the ballot represents the robots that most resonate with Transformers’ passionate fans. Fans may cast votes daily from April 13th through April 22nd. The winning robot will be revealed at the Transformers Hall of Fame induction ceremony at BotCon in Pasadena, CA, on Saturday, June 4.

Roll Out!

And so it begins ...

Image

Throw that voter apathy out the window, it's selection time. Us fans have a chance to vote for the fourth inductee to the 2011 Transformers Hall Of Fame, as they will be joining Soundwave, Ratchet and Ironhide, as well as last years inductees of Optimus Prime, Megatron, Bumblebee, Starscream and Dinobot! So who has a chance to make it in? Our five nominees for the last inductee spot are Grimlock, Shockwave, Autobot Erector, Waspinator and Autobot Jazz! Submit your vote here!!

"Me GRIMLOCK want little statue!"

GRIMLOCK fought his way through the gladiatorial pits underneath Kaon to become one of the greatest warriors on CYBERTRON. Having joined the AUTOBOTS early on during the Great War, GRIMLOCK has fought and survived through enough battles to have earned a top ranking position amongst the AUTOBOTS. GRIMLOCK rose to lead a group known for their shock and awe style of military tactics, these soldiers were known as the Lightning Strike Coalition Force. Captured by SHOCKWAVE they were eventually reformatted into the team known as the DINOBOTS. During a fierce battle, GRIMLOCK’s vocal processors were damage leading to his awkward and distinct way of speaking.

Image

"I am the only logical selection."

SHOCKWAVE has always based his actions on the most logical choices. Having joined MEGATRON during the early days of the Great War, SHOCKWAVE believed MEGATRON would quickly crush the High Council and bring about a new order to CYBERTRON. AUTOBOTS and DECEPTICONS everywhere fear SHOCKWAVE for his unethical experimentations. SHOCKWAVE believes that through his work, he will discover a better form of existence for CYBERTRONIANS everywhere and sacrifices must be made to accomplish this. To further his goal of reformatting the species, SHOCKWAVE stayed behind to lead the DECEPTICON forces on CYBERTRON during the Great Exodus. On the surface, SHOCKWAVE is unquestionably loyal to MEGATRON, however this only masks his true intentions of ruling all over all sentient beings in the universe.

Image

"Wait, what is this? Why am I here?"

Once a member of the evil CONSTRUCTICONS, AUTOBOT ERECTOR was scrapped from the team in favor of the DECEPTICON HOOK, because he wasn’t green. Dejected, AUTOBOT ERECTOR had no choice but to join the AUTOBOTS and did so at the battle of Tyger Pax. There he saved the day by distracting enemy fire with his body allowing for OPTIMUS PRIME and the AUTOBOTS to escape the battlefield. "WASPINATOR is one of the most durable TRANSFORMERS of all time. Despite getting blown up all the time, WASPINATOR was able to endure this constant torment and pull himself together long enough to make it to the restoration chambers. Part of the original PREDACON crew which stole the Golden Disc from the Hall of Records, WASPINATOR was marooned on prehistoric Earth where he battled in the BEAST WARS. Before reformatting into a beast, WASPINATOR was known by the designation of WASP.
