We gave you the heads up on Friday, and now here it is. HASBRO, Inc. (HAS NYSE) has reported its 3rd quarter earnings this morning via webcast.

Heres the scoop:
Highlights
-- Net revenues of $1.3 billion for the quarter, an increase of $78.9 million or 6% from a year ago, or an increase of 5% absent the impact of foreign exchange;
-- Net earnings of $138.2 million, or $0.89 per diluted share, compared to $132.0 million or $0.78 per diluted share excluding the impact of a favorable tax adjustment of $29.6 million or $0.17 per diluted share in 2007;
-- U.S. and Canada segment net revenues up 6% for the quarter and International segment net revenues up 9% for the quarter, or 4% excluding the impact of foreign exchange;
-- Boys, Girls, Preschool and Games up globally compared to a year ago, with growth driven by strong performances from STAR WARS, PLAYSKOOL, FURREAL FRIENDS, LITTLEST PET SHOP, NERF, BABY ALIVE, and in both board and trading card games;
-- Balance sheet remains strong, with operating cash flow of $579.0 million over the last 12 months.

"We are very pleased with our third quarter and year-to-date performance," said Brian Goldner, President and Chief Executive Officer. "In a challenging environment, we delivered both revenue and earnings growth. As we look to the remainder of the year, we are well positioned with the richest and most diversified portfolio of brands in the industry."

The actual duration of the webcast was an hour long. In the webcast we do get to hear a positive introduction to the report by CEO Brian Goldner, who also told us that he's seen raw footage of Tranformers: Revenge of the Fallen and is very pleased. He also stated that the Transformers brand continues to be a strong point in the company despite this being an "non movie year" and that the Transformers Animated line has really pushed the brand.

Unfortunately the company has been affected by the recent economic stresses on the global market with profits down nearly 15% from last year. This was expected by the company as increases in costs for production and in costs of discretionary spending went up during the quarter. Key market brands by HASBRO are still going strong with high gains occuring in the board game department. It was stated by Mr. Goldner that this is because more families are electing to stay home instead of going out for whatever reason.

The webcast ended with some in depth Q&A from investors to Mr. Goldner and David Hargreaves, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer. Investors and future investors would do well to listen to that portion.

At the time of posting, HASBRO shares were $27.80, or down $2.72 (7.76%).

In an effort to quell the economic crunch being experienced by consumers, Transformers creator HASBRO, Inc. (HAS NYSE) has issued a statement regarding toy price ranges for the upcoming Holiday season.

In the statement, HASBRO projects most toylines to fall within the $20.00 USD pricing bracket. This pricing is a direct result of the current financial stress that families have been experiencing from the recent Stock Market woes and is meant to help parents in their time of need. The Company's CEO, Brian Goldner, also stated that two thirds of HASBRO products are already priced at $20.00 USD or below.

Walmart Stores has stated that its franchise has already cut prices in advance of the Holiday season with price reductions in most Deluxe line figures of the Transformers Toys and HASBRO's Play Doh Ice Cream Shop.

Good news for us consumers for the fast approaching festivities.

The press release below isn't really Transformers related, but I thought some of you might be interested in hearing more about movie Bumblebee's voice actor, Mark Ryan. Here's what he's been doing in his spare time:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

"WUTHERING HEIGHTS" - THE ORIGINAL "GOTHIC LOVE STORY" - INSPIRES MUSICAL ADAPTATION ONLINE

WutheringHeightsMusic.com Offers 4 Original Songs Inspired by Emily Bronte’s Novel with Narration by Ray Winstone

Los Angeles, CA - October 1, 2008: Mark Ryan (Transformers, The Prestige, Evita, Robin Of Sherwood) announces the launch of Wuthering Heights Music, a musical adaptation based on the novel by Emily Bronte. Beginning today, visitors to http://www.WutheringHeightsMusic.com can listen to Ryan's four original songs inspired by the gothic love story: Dark Passion, Women, Heathcliff's Prayer and I love The Wind. The website also features a music video for the song Women, narrated by Ray Winstone (Beowulf, The Departed, Indiana Jones, Sexy Beast). Currently, music downloads for Dark Passion and Women are available free and a four-song EP will soon be available for purchase for $1.99.

Growing up amongst the hauntingly romantic landscapes of Yorkshire, Ryan developed an emotional connection to the story of Wuthering Heights. In 1988 he wrote eighteen original songs inspired by Emily Bronte's novel, but was forced to put the project on hold due to his burgeoning film and television career. Years passed and with the success of Transformers (voice of Bumblebee), he decided it was finally the right time to record the music. Twenty years later Ryan comments, "This has been a labor of love and I am so proud to finally launch it. I believe we've created a musical that is as powerful and heartfelt as Bronte's tragic love story and I hope it entertains fans and music lovers alike."

Ryan is proud of the team he has assembled to make his passion project a reality. Credits include Robb Vallier (Spamalot, Gin Blossoms, Peter Murphy), who produced the four songs with Ryan. The vocal ensemble includes Jenn Korbee (Cathy), Jessica Kennan Wynn (Nelly) and Katie Boeck (Isabella), who all appear in the video for Women.

Mark Ryan has had a successful career in theater, film and television for over 30 years, including Evita in London’s West End originating the role of Magaldi and most recently voicing Bumblebee in the blockbuster film Transformers.

But LaBeoufs attorney is confident that it won't come to that.
