As for Jungle Bonecrusher, I like him, but I'll stick with the original one.

(its just too bad people are complaining about Overcast's mold for his crotch and the fact that starscream's pink and gold. I'll buy any transformer, so don't worry about me critisizing you creations.)

True.. but if Jazz got his body ripped in half and died, than the same thing could be said about Bonecrusher. And plus, the G1 Jazz Redeco had the same kind of bio as this Jungle Bonecrusher. Hasbro makes it seem like the characters are alive, so fans can buy the figure.

Considering the homage, I don't mind the size at all! This guy is totally leading my knockoff Insecticon army.
Note that the bio is also somewhat reminiscent of the G1 Insecticons (at least in the animated continuity), as they were pretty much cut off from the rest of the Decepticons and isolated in Earth's woodland areas.
Now I need to order some Energon cubes so Jungle Bonecrusher will have something to eat when he arrives.

I agree 100%. He does look a lot like Energon Insecticon.
I'm really on the fence about this figure, seeing as I have the first deco of Bonecrusher.

When the first waves of Beast Wars came out, I didn't have much cash (I was in 6th grade!). As a result, I missed out on Tarantulas and Cheetor. Thankfully though, they were rereleased as Transmetals, so I was eventually able to grab the show characters I'd missed out on.
Same logic here. By the time these are released, the originals won't be on the shelf anymore, so if a kid wanted a Bonecrusher toy and missed out, now he gets a second chance. May not be the paint scheme from the movie, but a lot of kids would overlook that for the name and altmode of the original character.

Eh, I see it more as Hasbro creating their own tangential stories to justify repainting several existing figures and releasing some new figures of characters who played no role in a movie released 6 months prior to this new line. They have to put SOMETHING on the back of packaging to account for the different color, after all.
Furthermore, I would be HIGHLY surprised to see Brawl, Bonecrusher, and even Jazz in the sequel; if they did appear, it would be really weak and make you wonder why the Transformers even fight since they are bound to come back to life anyway.

They don't fight to save or end their own lives -- they fight for ours!
And to reiterate, I freaking love the Barrage homage (rhymey!!!). With the insectoid look of many of the movie TFs, I hope we get more deluxe Insecticon recolors. I would've been pleased with green and purple, but I think I like this even better.

nitefall wrote:I'm really not digging the telescope-heads on figures like Overcast, Camshaft, Swindle, Dreadwing, etc. Why did they go with this mold and why is it almost the same on so many bots? It looks stupid in my opinion. I don't buy any of them that have that for a head, with the exception of a possible Shockwave figure, but only if it is better sculpted. Does this bother anyone else?
It bothers me -- but that's not a problem with Jungle Barragecrusher!
