Once again the fine folks of the Transformers Galaxy Hong Kong Fans Group have shared a great gallery of an upcoming figure. This time we get a look at Generations Junkheap, complete with packaging shots with bio. Check em' out below.

Assembled and raised in the scrap pile, JUNKHEAP is a supremely resourceful bot. It was he who helped orchestrate the repair and reboot of the disabled ULTRA MAGNUS. The mighty AUTOBOT was so impressed with the talent of JUNKHEAP that he encouraged AUTOBOT RATCHET to spend extended leave on Planet Junkion to hone his repair skills.

So Magnus sent Ratchet to Junk after a scene that occured after Ratchet bought the big one. Nice.

Both Wreckgar and Junkheap should've come with a dang gun as well. I dislike melee weapons on TF's as their primary weapons.

I'm glad it wasn't just me that noticed that, I thought I was being a massive continuity nerd :-B

Hasbro, me-thinketh your continuity copy writer didn't do their homework >:oP

That aside, I have both of these on pre-order and hope to have them next week =P~

That's very dirty! :KREMZEEK:

You continuity nerds have started this unknowing continuity nerd to think...and that's never good.

Must be a different Ratchet and a different Magnus.

Really? I rolled my eyes at the thought of them putting him over as a big enough bad ass that Megatron fears him. Isn't Overlord enough of that kind of thing? Keep shoehorning characters Megatron fears into the fiction and he seems like a sissy. Just my opinion.
Believe it or not, there have been some depictions of Megatron in which he was incompetent and/or pitiful (looking at you, Marvel G1 Megatron as written by Bob Budiansky). ;)

I want to be prime wrote:If you ask me you could get away with this as Deathsaurus
Huh? How? Deszaras didn't look like that.

Well, while it may not work for the G1 movie, suppose these toy bios represent a world in which Ratchet did not die. After all, toy bios can be seen as their own continuity. ;)

Far too much thinking required for me 8-} ;)

On a more serious note I'm suprised it got put out, the post '86 movie isn't exactly minor continuity for a line aimed at collectors! #-o

As everyone above said...this can't be the 86 Movie continuity, because Ratchet was long dead at this point :-B :P

Maybe in a running package change, it'll be edited to "First Aid" 8-}

Off topic: Why cant they just start a new thread every time ? Nobody cares about all the old comments from the previous thread. Especially when the Article is suppossed to be about Junkheap and the first 20 comments are about Sky Shadow.

Because this article is about both of them, as it was originally. And talks of these two were already going on, so making a new topic would just be a duplicate of this topic.

BTW, you're a G1 cartoon fan, right? Junkheap in the cartoon's official name is "Junkyard". They're just calling the toy "Junkheap" since they can't use the "Junkyard" name for the toy. ;)

Both of these figures look sweet. Junkheap's robot mode less so, but I love the colors on the bike mode. Deliciously 80s. :D The clear headlight is cool too. I'm pretty excited about these. I haven't been this excited for a Tfs since... probably Wheeljack.

Yeah, but you should always take the Bio's with a grain of salt.

Other possibilities:

1.) A sentence was cut off the end:
"A second later, Ultra Magnus realized what he'd just said"

2.) This occurs in the story-/coloring book continuity where something like TF:TM seemed to be happening but Ratchet and Starscream were still alive. (See "The Battle for Oil Valley")

3.) Autobot Ratchet is someone different from plain ol' Ratchet. Maybe he's someone of Microchange lineage who actually turns into a ratchet.

I'd buy that this is another continuity, but it's clearly referencing TF:TM, so I call a minor foul on trying to have they're cake and eat it too; and after they did such a bang up job on Hot Shot's bio. Besides, they're trying to sell Perceptor toys too, and he was actually on Junk for Magnus to give the order to; we see him inside the Junkion ship later, so they could've even said he followed it.

As for the McDonald's thing, maybe Junkheap studied their commercials more than the other Junkions, fascinated by that lawsuit the Krofts leveled against McDonaldland.

And someone owes me 3 No-Prizes. And I'm falling asleep as I type this, so at the moment I actually believe Hasbro might pony up.........

At the risk of being *really* picky, the BW toy bios were done before the corresponding fiction was finalise and retconned as needed, it would appear that on this occasion they're a little muddled :-B

I do see where youre coming from tho, you can always make these things match up!!

The whole concept of the Universal Streams system makes this work. Any Universal stream ending with a "Beta" is set in a toy bio world or pack-in comic world. This bio is/could be a "Beta" stream in which Ultra Magnus sent Ratchet to Junkion.

If I knew the exact release date of the first Generations toys, I could calculate what Universal Stream this one would be.

I cant say Im a fan of that system. Half the fun of leaving a comment is seeing when someone replies to it. Nobody reads the old 136 comments from 2 weeks ago so why should they be forced to scroll through them. Maybe they can fix the system so it starts bottom up with the most recent comment being on top of page 1. ;)

I didnt know he had a real name ? When Wreck-Gar called his followers to fix Ultra Magnus, wasnt it a whole team that fixed him ? When did they call names (in the movie) I swear I missed it...

Well, if you have this topic bookmarked (as I do), you shoudl get emails directing you to the lastest unread post, which skips over all the older posts if you keep up with the topic enough. ;)

You're right that he wasn't named in the movie. Nor were any of the other G1 Junkions. His name (and those the others) comes from the Complete Ark book, which compiles together animation models and production material from the G1 cartoon with newly-written information about it. The names given to each G1 Junkion were Junkyard, Scrapheap, Rubbish, Ashtray, Re-Cycle, HAZMAT, Trashbin, Wasteoid Gamma, and Greasestain.

Of these nine, only Junkyard and Scrapheap have been given toys.

Oh, and the ship which they launched form their planet to "destroy Unicron, kill the Grand Poobah, eliminate even the toughest stains" was given the name of the Minnow.

^^ Or just use the 'first unread post' feature. It'll take you to, get this, the first post you haven't read in the thread! Works great...except the first time you try it in your visit session it just goes to the first page (then just click the link at the top of the thread and it'll work,) but every time after that it's aces. It's probably my favorite feature about this site. TFW has what's supposed to be a similar feature, but it doesn't work anywhere near as well. It brings you to the first post in that thread since you last logged off, but behaves as though you read the entire site on that visit...so if you didn't have time to get to a thread on your previous visit, it's going to skip over a bunch of posts you haven't read. Here, it keeps track of every thread individually...so it actually brings you to your first unread post. Good programming, Seibs. Unless it just comes with the site, then good provider choice.

The first five show his imcompetence beautifully. In the first four, he steals a nuclear power plant to make a new base, but fails to use its nuclear power for his own gain. And then he kidnaps a car mechanic to create a superfuel for the Decepticons to use... because car mechanics can TOTALLY do that! And then when Shockwave shows up, he lists all of Megatron's stupidity right in front of him.

Oh, and in issue 13, Megatron gets damaged and becomes the personal weapon of some small-time thief. And I don't mean he's stuck in gun mode and forced to be wielded by this guy. No, he's capable of transforming, speaking, and even has full awareness of being used as a tool. The damage inflicted upon him before simply made him be apathetic. That's right, the mighty Megatron made into a lazy bum for some petty crook. >:oP

Not cowardly, but kinda lazy. He spends about 65% of the show sitting on his throne yelling at his underlings for their failures. he's also a little over-the-top, but not in a good way. Think G1 season 3 Galvatron minus the violent rages and with a nutcase voice.

In ROTF, he grovels a lot at The Fallen. But not in much of a patheitc way, but more like how a loyal servant serves his master. Yes, I just called that Megatron a "servant".

You're forgetting that they had been dormant for all of the span of humanity and had no knowledge of our sciences. They didn't even know humans were the dominant life form until issue...2? Mind you, I retain little of anything. As for recent comics and Sky Shadow, you'd know better than I. I read everything in trades. I think the last ones I read were Infiltration and Galvatron's whatever that was. Four issues of garbage I think.

Shockwave was dormant for just as long (if not longer), yet he knew of each and every one of these mistakes Megatron made and ridiculed him for them.

"Petty vengeance on barely intelligent creatures has no place in our cause. Logic dictates there is no place for such emotionalism in a Decepticon commander. Nor is there room for incompetence--For stealing energy facilities and not being able to use them, for being fooled by lower forms, for defeat. That is why I now command."

Regardless, both lifeforms use energy, yet Megatron didn't take the short time to simply figure out how use human fuel for the Deceps' benefit, yet Shockwave did.

Looking on his TFWiki page, it seems that IDW made him one of Megatron's three most powerful warriors, being on even level with Sixshot and Overlord. "Phase sixers" is what he called them. He was also in the TransTech fiction, but I can't tell how important he was in there.

Transtech, the party no one was invited to.

I'm completely unknowlegdeable about comics, I just really liked Victory. He was in there... So there's my reason for wanting that toy. We need more Victory toys.

Agreed. Though, brief, he was awesome in Victory.

I also used to know next to nothing about the comics, which is why I've recently started to learn more about them. I'm still reading the Marvel stuff before much else. From what I've seen thus far, I've been missing out on SO MUCH all these years by not reading the comics. Marvel G1 > Cartoon G1. 8)

I think the bio goes right along with IDW's Megatron as depicted in the Wreckers book.

And that Megatron is really bad-ass, so think what Black Shadow must be doing to inspire some fear.

Or they kind of said, hey we'll never make a new Overlord toy, or a new Sixshot toy and Black Shadow is a level sixer like those two (in the IDW-verse), and Overlord was trying to prove how badass he was, so maybe we'll just go with it.

I do believe the inspiration rose from there for the writer, even if it is not the spot on impression IDW gave us.

I am in agreement.

I'm glad it wasn't just me that noticed that, I thought I was being a massive continuity nerd :-B

Hasbro, me-thinketh your continuity copy writer didn't do their homework >:oP

Well, while it may not work for the G1 movie, suppose these toy bios represent a world in which Ratchet did not die. After all, toy bios can be seen as their own continuity. ;)

Far too much thinking required for me 8-} ;)
Nuh uh. Just don't take the toy bios as gospel to the cartoons. ;)

Especially when it comes to bio's from like the first wave of Beast Wars for example. Totaly not anything related tot he actual show.

All I know is that bio made my head hurt. Good bio if I ignore the movie.

This I get. I've read the Wreckers book at least twice and somehow managed to gloss over the mention. Like I said, he's pretty much a no-name in general. At least IMO. Who wouldn't be tickled about an Overlord Classics figure? Man, that would be cool!
