For size comparison the figure has been posed with Transformers Prime "Robots in Disguise" Voyager Optimus Prime, as you can see the "Beast Hunters" mold appears to be quite a bit beefier. A couple of the images also feature his wavemate "Beast Hunters" Voyager Predaking, so more images of him are likely forthcoming.
Enjoy the images mirrored below:

And he looks bigger than PRiD Voyager OP, which is good.
(I also suspect we'll be getting some in-hand images of Predaking soon.)

...Dammit.
I planned on Smokescreen (and maaaaybe Starscream) to be my only Beast Hunters figure. Now that we know he actually looks really cool, guess I gotta fish out another twenty bucks. They better make an equally-bulky-and-badass Megatron.
I'm so happy they finally ditched the MechTech-like weapon. Stupidest idea ever.

I want to like this figure, but it just looks too simple. It doesn't even appear as though the feet can be placed flat.
This would be better as a Deluxe.
This must be a move on Hasbro's part to purposefully dumb down TFs; I can't imagine that the toy designers could get this bad at making interesting, poseable TFs in only a few years, especially after seeing the level of complexity in the ROTF figures and post-ROTF Generations figures.

Hey man, ROTF Jetfire and Rampage are pretty tough to transform. That's why I rarely touch Rampage nowadays.

I was getting the same vibe. I couldn't quite place my finger on it.
butterflyboy wrote:Does anyone else notice that Hasbro seems to be skimping less on the plastic? He's bigger than PRID Optimus, with beefy accessories. Also, the back of his legs aren't all hollowed out like PRID OP. I for one am really glad to see that.
I was thinking that too when I picked up Voyager Soundwave. Not the best fig, but pretty hefty. Hav'n't got a deluxe fog since Vehicon, but Smokescreen looks big as well.

HE'S SO METAL!
I love the Madmaxesque garbage truck mode.
That robot mode is pure concentrated baddassery. And that head sculpt... look like OP is tired of playing nice!
I'm looking forward to see him in store.

What's more, the voyagers are starting to look like voyagers again!

Don't waste your breath: Optimus, and every character getting the spike treatment is most likely going to look like their package artwork.

But Optimus got killed owned. It makes sense for him to upgrade.

If the Autobots are up against Cybertronian dinosaurs/Yautjas, they would upgrade, no? And if the Autobots upgrade, then the Decepticons have to beef up their defensive and offensive capabilities as well, amirite?

Right... so you just contradicted yourself. You told him to save his breath because everyone getting the "spike treatment" was most likely going to look like their package artwork. Well, this is their packaging artwork:

More along the lines of this:

Just now remembered that the Deluxe packaging doesn't have package art on them besides that one...

Exactly. Except, none of the Deluxe packaging have art...it's the Voyagers.

I think Knock Out's going to rebuild Optimus and pump him up with Synth-En.

That face looks kind of like Magnus to me. And the toy's face looks angry. Somethings not right around here...oh yeah. Cliffjumper ain't getting his upgrade.PrymeStriker wrote:Mindmaster wrote:PrymeStriker wrote:Mindmaster wrote:Optimus, and every character getting the spike treatment is most likely going to look like their package artwork.

What I wanna know is why would Knock Out building Optimus into a mean, red-blue-and-green, Decepticon/Predacon-killing machine? Perhaps as an effort to make a zombie puppet of death to do his (or Megatron's) bidding?

What I had in mind was a mean, red-blue-and-green, Autobot/Dinobot-killing machine.

Me too on the mouth thing. I must be getting soft in my age. I assume the repaint will have a closed face plate.

Paging Dr Wu...Dr Wu to the operating room please...
This thing looks way more badass than I initially thought (though I was already sold on him). I just wish Hasbro would start painting the damn feux parts already, that or just not bother including them. It's dumb as hell to put fake wheels/tires in the bot mode only to leave them unpainted. Either shell out for the paint or don't bother with the cheats because blue wheels on the inner legs aren't fooling anyone.

Speaking of packaging, what's up with the Prime bios? They're barely a sentence or two long on the Deluxes, and as far as I've seen, non-existent on the Voyagers. Is that a new trend? Bumblebee's was barely even a sentence, and one that said he was a scout, and found some weapons. It's like Hasbro fired the copywriters and used the savings to make the toy bigger.
