The mold was first used to make Revenge of the Fallen Deluxe Soundwave, and was also used for Chara Hobby Black Soundwave. Expect the 'Gathering at the Nemesis' to be at your local Toys'R'Us in the next few weeks!

The shade of blue is nice, and the deco itself is... tolerable. I still think the film original deco is still the better one (Especially when you consider the paint applications slyly homage the general Soundwave colour layout), while this comes out as a bit plain. I especially think another colour apart from the smoky white would be a better choice for the light-piping elements.

I still find the idea that "making it more like GEEWUN instantly makes it better" is a bit shaky though.

Def buying this set as I don't have the other 2 voyagers and Soundwave is one of my favorite characters. Though it would've been great if this characters comes with a G1 repaint Ravage and Frenzy's head. :-?

In a way I do agree. I think both the movie and G1 color schemes (i have both) are equally good in their own way.

The darkened gray visor gives the impression that he's either in stasis lock or dead.

I've been holding off buying the Voyager Fallen in anticipation of this set. Not long to wait now, thankfully!

The visor should have been red. But, otherwise, I think I'll get this.

Yeah, what's up with painting over light piping in some figures? My Universe Drag Strip has red light piping but the eyes have red paint over them...come on, Hasbro, it's redundant, takes more effort/time/money, and the result is inferior to simply leaving the red light piping alone.

Most of us believe that to have been fake.

Srly, the light piping is either colored over or blocked by back kibble, both rendering it useless. Which is raises a big question as to why have it in the first place if it won't work? :-? I have to say my most favorite light piping is 2007 Movie Jazz, no kibble block and not painted, a large blue piping visor. =P~

I appreciate good light piping. It's a simple design feature that can add a good deal of dramatic effect to displayed figures. Universe Cyclonus, TFA Voyager Starscream, and TFA Oil Slick(particularly), come to mind for figures that seem to pick up a fair amount light from most angles. Starscream lights up like a jack-o'-lantern and Cyclonus has a perfectly sinister glow. I really like how Oil Slick's double use of transluscent plastic gives him a unique look.

Light piping is one of those things that I just enjoy from a purely childish perspective. "Wheeeeee, look at that pretty, shiny light!"

I can relate to the childish perspective, I still remember picking up RID Scourge and finding the red light piping to be the best thing since microwave food. =P~

Well, as long as the only version of Soundwave were gonna get is a pint-sized deluxe, he may as well be done in attractive colors, as this one is. The first one was disappointing right down to the painted over optics.
The sucky thing is, you can only get this variant with the set of unneeded voyagers. Truly a bummer, as I woulda bought this one if he came separately.

That reminds me of something GRRR from Invader Zim would say!

If we had a reputation system, you, sir, would deserve a +1,000,000 for referencing Invader Zim! I love that show.

Gathering at Nemesis. Consists of this, an unchanged Voyager The Fallen, and a redeco of Movie 1 Voyager Megatron in colors similar to his Best Buy metallic Premium figure.

Hmm :-? I always thought the Megatron was unchanged as well. I guess this just moves up the lists of my must purchase. :P
