This would be the comic inside - it is important to me to know which damn issue it is as it could be something not published elsewhere therefore (potentially, and speculatively) delaying the wide release of these.

Retroactively in Wave 1? Damn, now I feel gypped, since I have Wave 1 without comics.

So, wait... those of us who purchased the first batch of wave 1 will need to purchase a second set to get the comics? That's a bit crummy...
[edit]Sniped by albnok. I'm with you on this feeling. I realize I could just purchase the comics from my comic shop, but the completionist in me is not liking this... I'll prolly buy two sets of Wave 1...

Thanks for the info! Odd way to do it but almost certainly due to the comic scheduling and not wanting to push out issues not due until next month way too early.

Glad I've withheld from picking up Wave 1 so far.
But then again, I've done so because I'm holding out for Takara's Superion instead.
Though, it is weird that the issues aren't Combiner Wars ones and are instead from pre-Dark Cybertron RID.

Yup, it's been confirmed by Hasbro the first assortments lacked the comics (well, used the multilingual packaging for the US instead of the English-only one) due to production timing issues.

The weird part to me is the "pre-Dark Cybertron" part. I doubt IDW would want Wave 2 to have CW issues, as that would mean that things planned to come out in April (Windblade CW 2, and RiD CW2) could hit in March as pack-ins. However, why they don't have say, TF/xRiD 35-38 which directly lead into CW, I'm not sure.

This is a really good idea since combiner wars hasn't been released yet for IDW. I was a bit worried the first 4 out of 6 issues would be coming out with the toys before they've been released by the publisher. I also thought maybe it'd be one issue by wave. Part one is wave 2 then part 2 comes with each protectobot and so on.

*third limb
Slingshot's fourth!
They should let us trade in the cards for comics or something.

My guess is that the Prowlestator/Megatron combination beginning of story is essentially seen as the seeding of Combiner Wars in general. It is the reason that Starscream wants Superion active again, and Devastator!Prowl is essentially the reason for the entire thing going down after all.
But, just a guess.

Well, Rodimus is going to make a lot more sense like that. Looks good.

Okay so just so I get somethings on the straighter end of the spectrum. Is the first wave going to be re-released for them to have the proper comics for US distribution, instead of the cards for international retail.?

More like the figures carried over from Wave 1 into the next will have the comics. Remember, while we denote only the new figures, later assortment will mix in older figures as well.

Are you talking about the comics or the menasor pictures, if the latter then I agree, in my opinion there's no need to go to that extreme, but you know what they say, can't please everyone

The pack-in comics are reprinted IDW comics of the Combiner Wars storyline, yes.
