These two new toys revealed are Legends Class Rodimus and Skywarp. They are both based off of the pre-existing molds of Legends Blackjack and Generations Starscream respectively. Here are the mirrored pictures for your viewing pleasure.
This now adds fuel to the theory that the promo picture featuring a White Ultra Prime with a Hot Rod legends car on it's chest may be of an upcoming combiner afterall.

It's a tentative pass on Rodimus. It works for vehicle mode, but not for robot mode, even with a new head. Then again, I was going to skip the entirety of the Legends scale until Shrapnel popped up (I've been hooked ever since)...

Rodimus, however, is blah. If he had the chest flames in robot mode, I'd say thumbs up. But without the chest flames and without the yellow "wings" (?) behind his head, it just isn't Rodimus. Vehicle mode, on the other hand, looks great, but not so much for the robot mode.

I was about to agree with you on the Rodimus but his weapon should be able to peg in his back giving him wings.

Also if recolored Properly Bruticus/Defensor teams
could be recolored into Battle Gaia, Guard City, G2 Bruticus and Defensor,
Decepticon Ruination, FOC WRECKER Ruination, and even Rotorstorm's Joked Wrecker combiner from Last Stand of the Wreckers, with Pyro being repainted
from Hotspot.
We got Optimus/Motormaster (With some white Ultra Prime Possibly coming soon), which could easily be turned into Thunderclash in the future As well as Nemesis Prime and Mechine Wars Prime, and even Energon Prime( BUt probably won't happen ).
Hotspot and Possibly Onslaught confirmed (With tones of Repaint potential
from them in the future which I KNOW won't happen )
I wonder who Silverbolt will be retooled into. I would love to see
Him retooled into Skyquake, and the Areobots into the Sky Preditors/Jet Corps ( http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Jet_Corps ) with their combined mode being called Scrash (who is probably Skyquake unreleased in Japan). But I heard rumors that Silverbolt would be recolored into someone else surprising... Hmmm

Hasbro's press event is on Saturday, February 14th. We'll have news posted from the event starting around 1:30pm to 3:00pm and then photos from the event starting around 6pm (with a few teasers prior to that).
The main Toy Fair event, where we find licensed products, is on Sunday for me.

I didn't make up the 16 molds, that's what they said they were doing.
Who said that and when? Where?
I'll see if I can find the exact quote, but I remember it very clearly from the announcement panel from last year. I'm not trying to start a fight, I'm just saying that they have all they need now to make to make Superion, Menasor, Defensor, and Bruticus, and that the last two will probably be altered like the first two have.
You're confused. It was announced that there would be 16 mainline/mass-market DELUXE scale releases for 2015, not just "16 different molds" across all price points/size classes. We even know who the 16 deluxes are now: Air Raid, Fireflight, Sky Dive, Alpha Bravo, Dragstrip, Dead End, Breakdown, Off Road, First Aid, Streetwise, Blades, Rook, Ironhide, Prowl, Sunstreaker, and Mirage.
Thanks. That's exactly what I was thinking, and I'm not too stubborn to admit I was wrong. Which I was.

HasbroToyShop still has Thundercracker listed as available for $9.99 (which I might go for the next time I get paid).

Yep, and it was an expected one no less, given that the image of the white Prime had a Rodimus-like car for a chest, something that's only really possible with Blackjack.
Speaking of which, Rodimus' packaging has the "Combine to form" blurb, which means he's part of a team! Can't wait to see the back and who he's supposed to combine with, and if that white Prime is real.
P.S. Two more Legends unaccounted for now.

Hey yeah, we already have:
Bumblebee for Bug Bite
Powerglide for Bad Boy
Gears for Small Foot
Huffer (or Optimus Prime) for Road Ranger
Cosmos for Pathfinder
We just need a new Warpath for Treds, and we're all set.

If we are to believe the leaks from a while back, Warpath is coming too! If Hasbro and Takara don't jump on this one, maybe the TFCC will?

YEp! I Had Cheetimus Repaint 2 Cosmos' into 80's Pathinder, and Takara Patnfinder,
and two Swerves' (because Gears wasn't out at the time)into Both 80's and Takara Small foot.
I think I'll have him slightly edit Optimus and Nemesis into the two versions of Roage Ranger,
same with Warpath, and Powerglide.
I'm thinking about getting an extra StarScream to turn into Leader-one, and Depending on on how Groove Looks (or his eventual Decepticon Recolor) That could be made out to be Cy-Kill.
was considering turning Windcharger into Turbo, but Might do that with Rodimus/Black Jack depending on how the mold looks. I'm already going to get Cheetimus to turn Windcharger into the Micromaster Female "Clipper". ANd Huffer could be turned into "Stacks"!

It's a shame that this mold was squandered on a disappointing version of Hot Rod. It would have been a great opportunity for any of the Throttlebots. (And why they aren't using it for Runamok and Runabout is beyond me...all they had to do was paint Blackjack's windows red...)

What dollar store do you go to? All the ones in my area still sell the old, outdated, Reveal the Shield Legends dudes.

My local TRU had Starscream from when I last checked about 3 weeks ago. I wouldn't have a problem picking him up for you. They're refurbishing the store though so they've cut down the shop size to about a quarter and the stock will probably be cut down too.

i haven't got any combiner wars figures yet but am definitely gonna get them soon... I might've stated it elsewhere but I think that hasbro are missing a trick here. They should've come up with a cartoon narrative for these guys as they're one of the few recent tf toy series which i think would cross the divide between kid and adult collector.
I feel that most of the toys i choose to collect such as generations and prime were too complicated for kids. And it seems hasbro agrees with the introduction of the latest lines.. however they might've gone to the other extreme with over simplification. These toys.. though I don't have first hand experience of them seem to strike a very good balance between complexity levels and collector desirability. These guys actually seem like fun to play with!
Posted by Cobotron on January 25th, 2015 @ 3:40pm CST
They are! and you're right they are not overly complicated and do seem like they would appeal to all. They are really no more complicated than any G1 toy, or Beast Wars toy. I don't remember any kids complaining in the 90's that BW were to complicated. You make a really good point.frogbat wrote: These toys.. though I don't have first hand experience of them seem to strike a very good balance between complexity levels and collector desirability. Previously Rumored Generations Legends Sharkticon Gnaw and Brawn To Debut In Combiner Wars?
Ozformers member Bidoofdude put 2 and 2 together concerning two previously-rumored Generations Legends, and got a promising response from Hasbro! The known Combiner Wars Legends-class figures skip numbers 11-17, and so an email was sent to Hasbro asking if the previous Walmart leaks Gnaw with Gnash and Brawn with Mudslinger might be among their numbers. The answer is less than concrete, but more than maybe - keep reading to see!
Hi Ryan,
Thank you for your email.
There are plans for the distribution of these characters in 2015, unfortunately I do not have an exact date of arrival.
Regards
Hasbro Consumer Affairs
NICE but darn I just got CLOUD brawn. XD However Swarms of Sharkticons are great "IF" THis pans out!
Sweet.

Delta not sure if they are priced the same on the website but the tru near me has the AoE legends starscream for £3.99 (its just the generations legend mold in AoE packing) I saw a bunch of them and prime, strafe and grimlock. Picked up grimlock to go with the other grimlock and Strafe...i love the predacon terrorcon molds

And that Skywarp is a redeco of that exact guy, like Thundercracker is Look at the toy, not the packaging art. It hasn't matched the toy at at least one occasion, chief of which is Huffer: the toy is based on Generations Optimus Prime, while the art is based on the Reveal the Shield one.
Besides, by current standards the RtS Legends are Legion-sized, while the current Legends are slightly bigger.

Well it would make a Great update to Takara's "Scramble City". Have them reanimate the first
episode with Optimus and the Masquarde Autobots helping out Defensor and Superion, and then Generations Metroplex Vs. GENERATIONS TRIPTICON (lol that would be a great crazy reveal!)
