- The elite commander character changes expressions as he talks with electronic lights, sounds and speech.
- Aim the spring-loaded, expanding mass hammer at the enemy, along with flip-up heavy cannons and hidden weapons.
- Change into vehicle mode for flip-out machine cannons and weapon power-up sounds!
- Includes 2 “AA” batteries."
This is totally awesome!

Not strictly a melee weapon since it shoots lightning in the toon, plus I've seen it as a kind of symbol of office ever since his first appearance, although there's nothing canon that I'm aware of to suggest such a thing.

Anyway, they all look excelent, I'm enjoying both the cartoon and the respective toys. But because I only collect G1 and their Masterpieces and can't afford every line I'll only buy Soundwave because he's my favorite G1 character and looks awesome in the Animated as well. But I have to say that I wish I'd buy a lot of the other Animated figures, like Bulkhead, Starscream, Grimlock, Bumblebee, Prowl, oh man, almost every one of them!

Love this figure with a passion like most will on these boards. Well proportioned and Leader Class? I thought that he would be Supreme Class. The US is so lucky for getting this buy so cheap too!

*snip*
Wow. That looks freaking AWESOME. This will probably be one of the few Animated toys I buy(trying to think where I'll put him though, considering I'll also need room for the Classics!).
I just LOVE the bulkiness of him; it just looks so.... cool.

Watch the show, specifically the "Elite Guard" episode and you'll understand the lightning hammer reference.

I try to avoid Leader-class these days unless they're on clearance, but I've already preordered Megatron, and will preorder this at the first opportunity.

He needs the hammer so he can keep ripping off Thor.

Plus all great charicters, be they good or evil, have their signature huge-ass weapons! There's TFA Ultra Magnus with said hammer, G1 Prime has his trademark gun, Megs has the Fusion arm cannon, and Soundwave (he's sometimes seccond in command) has his tape legions.
