We've had a slew of Transformers Movie news lately with the offical announcement of the title to a spotting of Optimus's trailer. We now have confirmation from the Transformers Movie Facebook page that Josh Duhamel will be reprising his role as Lieutenant Colonel Lennox in Transformers: The Last Knight.

So some guy was theorizing that the Last Knight might actually be Rom the Space Knight, and that this movie might tie into the theoretical Hasbro Cinematic Universe. Which apparently might explain the purple eyes, since Rom fought purple shape-shifting monsters or something. Clearly, I don't know much about Rom, but I'm sure there are others here who can offer some insight about the validity of this guys' theories.
Somebody mentioned the possibility of killing off the Dinobots. I think it's equally likely that they simply won't show up again, since they kind of just wandered off to do their own thing at the end of AoE.

I wouldn't mind them showing what became of Sam and Carly as well. Maybe they will cover that in the Bumblebee movie. But it is good LTC Lennox is in it (When did he get that promotion? Last I thought he was a Captain or a Major). Anyway, I am looking forward to this.

I highly expect it not to be but it would be fun to see them thinking this way and tying movie ROM to the transformers which makes sense in a way. I like Prime's face, and I like the new title.
Hope the Dinobots will be in it, or smaller versions of them. They were huge in Age of Extinction.
This movie will probably be in space a lot, which is great in my opion.
I am so looking forward to this movie, hope they make the villain good again.
Sentinel Prime and Lockdown were great in the past movies.
(yes, not Winter Soldier great, or The Dark Knight Joker great. But good enough for the movie imho)
Yes, Bay is doing this movie and yes 50% of the fans will hate it like they don't have a hobby, and they will sound like 120% of the fans on the internet. Haters are always louder for some reason.
But I for one liked the first, second had the best robot fight scene to date. I loved the Sentinel Prime story in part 3 and Lockdown and how Prime was scared in part 4 was awesome.
I can see past the bad humor and a bit to much human screentime for the movies now.
Anyway, people are going to follow this development and I can't wait!!!!

Good to read about Josh Duhamel. I liked his character. The wingsuit stuff in DoTM was stupid and unnecessary, but otherwise his character was always a level-headed calming effect on the Bayhem. As for the Prime trailer, if it does come back, I hope we get a trailer with a leader class figure from Hasbro this time. That Western Star is a damn good-looking tractor, it deserves to be completed.

"Soft reboot" =/= "complete disregard for what came before". If AOE had been a complete reboot, then there'd be some eyebrow-raising over Lennox's return. But AOE acknowledged event of DOTM and even had Brains return, so there's room for older characters to come back for TLK.Lucky Logician wrote:Why you try to continuity, TF5?
