I totally disagree. The new Godzilla was a pile of crap, IMO. But that's not all Edwards's fault. So he may be good.

I heard Godzilla was weak on action so I would say no to him.

Wow!!! In 24 days Age of Extinction put down $886,257,000!!! Even though we Americans have given up on it domestically the rest of the world just likes a fun action movie with their favorite robots it seems. I smell another 1 Billion dollar movie to put the franchise at 3.7 Billion!

Part of the reason america gave up on it was probably because the announcement of the second one meant it was becoming a series. When all of the people flocked to see ROTF and critics and fans alike ripped it apart, why would one go to see a third and a fourth….. and now a fifth. The second one should have pulled watchers into the series… didn't work great in america. But the americans gave up on it to quickly, the second one should not put an image on the whole series. But China was very happy with the movie!!!

Don't get me wrong. It does well in America but I feel it should've done around 350-400 million in the states like DOTM and ROTF did. Just because America gave up doesn't mean this movie franchise will flop. It already made 4x it's budget in 24 days nd it still hasn't been released everywhere yet.

I was a fan of the original G1 characters except Bumblebee. He was not a good fighter in G1. More like a punching bag for the Decepticons and plus I think the VW beetle was a girly car. Micheal Bay made Bumblebee acceptable to me.

Ya i agree. I was a cosmos fan and not so much a trail breaker fan, but bay would make trail breaker pretty cool i think. The autobots like wind charger gears brawn and buffer were like bumblebee to me… to make the deceptions look more powerful

Exactly. Cosmos was a bad ass for a small bot. The thing that got me into TF is the vast personalities of the bots and cons. They all had souls! How Starscream always seeked to usurp Megatron and stuff. No other robot entity can compare for my love of TF. That's why TF films rake in tons of money. The world loves TF.

I think if it was about 30 minutes shorter, it would have done a little more business, as more showtimes could have been fit into 1 day. If some of the family drama crap was cut out, they could have saved the time and made the movie a bit tighter and more fast paced. The 1st half was very good, but the 2nd half started to drag a bit. That's when the human drama should have been toned down.

I really hope if there is an actual new director for Transformers 5 and realize the major flaws in the Michael Bay movies. Does anyone have a director in mind that they would love to see their work in a Transformers movie? Mine is J.J. Abrams.

Yeah ... not really going downhill by those figures.

Or were you talking about quality? Yeah ... that's just your opinion and at the end of the day movie sequels tend to be decided on money, not the opinion of dedicated fans.

The Spice Girls sold more albums than your average underground, progressive rock bands. It does not make those albums of any artistic merit. Can we have a Transformers film with a bit of class and still make money? Of course. Opinions are entirely subjective, however, I have had enough of people defending the raping of the Transformers by a buffoon of a director. Nobody can SERIOUSLY defend these films?? They have good scenes, Great scenes sometimes, however the scripts are abhorrent...Why are so many people happy to have ANY Transformers film rather than a good one, or a great one?

It seems like you are angry with the wrong person. You say you hate the script yet Bay doesn't write them! But I am sure you already knew that but you're just jumping on the Bay bandwagon hate. The person you want to hate is Ehren Kruger.

Also nobody gives Bay credit for anything. Thanks to him we found out that Transformers have a Cybertronian language in which no cartoon has ever talked about. He also made it where mass shifting made more sense than G1(I'm looking at you Soundwave and Megatron). Bumblebee is more bad ass than any other version of himself. I could go on but the negative folks probably won't care about the good he brought. So let's just concentrate on the negative shall we?

Optimus is also more badass than he's ever been. Also, everyone neglects to notice that the entire TF franchise wouldn't be nearly as popular as it is, without these movies. Hell, I certainly wouldn't care about it. I gave up on the franchise years ago when Energon first aired on TV. The first movie pulled me back in and I've been living for Transformers ever since. I seriously don't know where I'd be without these movies.

Why? Why? Why? Why the hell do I need to defend the movies? Why the hell does anyone? Why the hell can't you simply accept that people have an opinion different to yours?

Why the hell should people waste their time trying to justify their like of the movies? I choose not to. You might get someone who will come along and play your game but it won't be me.

Because it's a part of the movie stays with me long after I watch it. Saw Planet of the Apes yesterday. Liked it well enough, but after it was over, there was nothing I took from it, at all. I didn't learn anything from it. I didn't take inspiration from any of the characters or scenarios presented in the movie. At least when I watch one of the TF movies, I have something I can hold onto, something I can look to for inspiration in my darkest hour. Something that ensures that the movie will always be memorable for me.
