Saw it yesterday, I really liked it. Lockdown and his ship were both really awesome, and Mark Walbehrg (totally spelled that wrong) is a huge improvement over Shia Labeuoff (spelled that wrong as well, probably. It's definitely worth seeing! :APPLAUSE: :D

Well, I rememebred that he does get a slight upgrade when he returns to the trophy room. Thats where he gets his sword and his shield and becomes the "silver knight optimus" the toys were promoting. The way I see it, that is where he got his jetpack, from that same trophy room. Hence why he only used it henceforth.

Oh yeah, I also noticed that his arms seemed to Transform or something when he grabbed the swords? I couldn't actually make out any differences though.

Also, what did they call Lockdown's ship? Where is his ship, the "legends" of the dinobots, etc. from? Like, my Transformers knowledge fails me here lol. Can't connect this to anything I've seen before.

Well, I just saw it for the 2nd time, and even though I liked it, I think I'm over the hype of seeing it for the 1st time, and I gotta say that the human drama was still a bit much, and yeah, the movie was too long. But otherwise, no problems with the TF story. And I didn't catch it the 1st time, but there's a small reference to Motormaster as well, in case you didn't catch it. On the highway when Galvatron 1st attacks and Optimus transforms and gets hurled over the overpass, he crashes through a tractor-trailer with a black cab and gray trailer. The front end has a big "M" on the front.

Saw it, thought it was pretty good. Way less immature humor and the individual Autobots each get quite a number of lines, but overall it felt like two movies crammed together:
- It starts of with someone wiping out the dinosaurs, but they don't really do much with this plotline. It's sort of hinted at here and there, but it's all very incidental.
- The main human is a struggling inventor. He "reboots" Optimus and a flying camera, but this aspect gets dropped about halfway thru.
- There's a short bit about sparks and souls, and how Galvatron doesn't have one, but that's also dropped.
- Humanity has completely turned on the Transformers as a whole, but apart from getting the authorities on Optimus and setting up the human villain's motives it's left unexplored. Lockdown straight-up walks out in the open near a baseball game but nobody reacts more than "look!"
- Some humans are hunting down Autobots (claiming their Decepticons, wait what?) and melting them down for parts to make their own transformers. OK.
- And they're working with Lockdown, who's got is own motives -- and giant ship and minions and goodness knows what else. Fine.
- Meanwhile Megatron is manipulating the humans into remaking his army. Alright, very Animated-esque.
- ...but what about the Dinobots they so heavily advertised?
- Also there is something about mining "transformium", and a bomb that'd turn an entire city into that stuff, but did we really need another threat?
- Stinger is set up to be a evil Bumblebee of sorts, but it's impossible to distinguish him from the millions of other generics so when Bee finally kills him I'm left thinking "wait didn't they kill like 5 or him already?"
- "Real" Transformers got their own creators, but we never see them (was that mostly organic hand that killed the dinosaurs them?) -- which is just as well since this film already has a crap ton of plot points
- Lockdown and Optimus mention something about knights, but I can't care because I'm still waiting for the goddamn Dinobots
- ... who finally appear with what feels like 10 minutes to go but they don't say anything, do little besides provide a ride for the Autobots, and there's very little explanation as to why they're even dinosaurs. They almost seem like afterthoughts.
- Speaking of which, what was up with the frozen dinos? Were they the Dinobots or just victims of the carpet bombing (in the Arctic?)
- And what even happened to Lockdown's ship?

But as I said, I thought it was pretty good.

I don't about you guys, but this movie was awesome! The only thing I didn't like was Shane, I wish he would have died. Anyway, totally worth it. I got exactly what I wanted, TRANSFORMERS. They had dialogue, personality, lots of screen time, and excellent fight scenes! I got no complaints. Also, Drift + Bugatti + Helicopter = WINNING! Hate me all you want, I am satisfied. :BOT:

I don't get the hate for DoTM. I understand it for RoTF. It was a convoluted mess with some high spots of awesome action and some really low spots of toilet humor. But DoTM actually had a fairly decent story. Is it that Sentinel was made a bad guy? For me, the only things that were negatives from that movie were the gross mistreatment of Megatron, Starscream and Shockwave, as well as the abundant emphasis on the military. (No way in hell could they do what they did to the Decepticons.) Other than that, it was actually pretty good. Which is why it was popular enough to make over a BILLION dollars. (I understand that just because a movie makes a lot it doesn't mean high quality, but if a lot of people saw it 2 times or more in theaters, which is what I suspect the case to be for it to have such a high gross, it had to be at least a good experience.)

I may be late to the party but, you don't understand the hate for DoTM? Optimus Prime straight up MURDERS TWO BOTS--Megs and Sentinel--at the end. That ain't Prime. Aside from being a garbage fest of a movie, that's something no prime except Nova or Zeta would do, especially, ESPECIALLY NOT OPTIMUS.

Didn't they, you know, try to kill him first?

Of course I know that doesn't justify anything and I disliked DOTM, but still. Plus way I see it, this Optimus is allowed to do that as he's a completely different Optimus to G1 same as G1 Optimus is different to animated Optimus.

I got back from seeing AOE and I have to say this is to me one of the most solid entry in the movie series by far. There wasn't any toleit humor which I'm VERY thankful for not to mention some of the humans end up being pretty well written as well as the Autobots and villians to be very colourful. While the movie still has it's share of flaws I still think it's one of the best to date.

However is it just me or does the movi envoke a LOT of elements from Animated. I mean if you think about it there are surprisingly a lot of things they have in common at least for me.

For example.

Both Cade and Dr Sumdac are talented inventors who are being a little overprotective of their daughters with some of their inventions being somewhat similar too like with the little robot dog by Cade and Sparkplug by Sumdac.

There's both versions of Lockdown no question about that as well as the little talk that both Ratchet and Lockdown had in AOe that reminds me of their battles in Animated.

Hound shares a lot of design elements from Bulkhead though his personalty's more in line with Prime Bulkhead but more violent.

Drift even reminds me of Animated Prowl's Samurai design from seasons 2 and 3 of Animated.

The way Galvatron was Megatron reincarnated in a similer manner of how Megatron was brought back to life in Animated season 1 brings to mind not to mention how he tricked the humans into making him and his robot army was a similer idea from Animated Megatron.

Joshua Joyce and his company sort of remind me of Powall and his involvement with technology and trying to make his own creations.

There's also the Dinobots that both appear in AOE and Animated but I don't think to a big exent.

The way the AOe interacted and fought because they didn't get along well the first time is again a thing that happens often in Animated too.

Both Chicago and Detroit are in Michigan which AOE and Animated played out in.

It can also be argued that Stinger in a way is a spritual sucessor to Animated Wasp in regards with sharing strong design elements of Bumblebee's upgraded form.

It may be just me just overanaylzing this and it could be that AOE was unintentionally homaging some elements of Animated but I still found that interesting.

first its TRANSFORMIUM, not TRANSFORMIA.

second, Galvatron took over Lockdown's ship when Lockdown died.

and one last thing:

ENOUGH WITH THE SEXIST AND RACIST ACCUSATIONS!!!

they didn't make ''nigger'' jokes, or ''chin'' jokes in any of these movies!
If they were so racist, Tyrese Gibson would have never agreed to play in the first 3!

they try to give human personnality to robots. Drift is a samourai for God's sake! thats amazing!

Leadfoot and Hound are clearly ''over-weight'', does it make them fat-phobic?

All right, kid. come here. Sit over here. I'm going to tell you a tale. The tale of Transformers the Movie and Transformers Revenge of the Fallen.
Wait... You just want to hear the good parts, how Optimus Prime in the movies don't give a crap about his ennemies and KILL them all without mercy? All right, here's the list, thanks to Uncle Google:
...
...
...
Well, Uncle Google seem to be drunk again. Anyway, kid, Optimus killed a whole lot in the Bay movies since the very first film. It's not the same optimus as the cartoons for a good reasons. It's another universe. End of story. Now go to bed. Grandpa need some alone time with some... classic old movies on VHS.

I honestly don't get why this movie is getting worse reviews than the other films in this series. This was way better than the other sequels, and I even liked it better than the first one. They dialed all the bad comic relief back while dialing up the action. Sure, it is still dumb ("MY FACE IS A WARRANT!!"), but it is the type of dumb that is really fun.

Even though it is longer than the other ones, it didn't feel like it. I think it has to do with there not being one continuous, monotonous final battle scene like in the last two movies.

For me this is an easy recommendation to other people. I didn't even like the other films that much (the second one is one of my least favorite movies), but I really enjoyed myself this time and I had a lot of fun.

Not a perfect movie, but by-far the best of the three TF movies.

Lots of Autobot action and Baysplosions :michaelbay:, although not enough Dinobot time or characterization. The human character development was better, and not as many sidekicks or comic reliefs. Kelsey Grammer was a good human villain, and I'm not sure what purpose Li Bingbing served. Wahlberg was a much better protagonist, and his character much less self-concerned than LaBeouf's; but that's more on the writers than the actors.

The plot depended a little too much on the game of "keep away" from Galvatron so he doesn't destroy the Earth again thread. In fact the Galvatron thread seemed to be more of a distraction or subplot to be followed up on later. The Lockdown plot thread was much more interesting, and Lockdown was a much better bot villain, than Megatron.

The movie did tend to get tedious and/or ridiculous in parts. I'm always amazed when any human can out run/fight/shoot a robot, or walks away from falls and explosions and tons of shrapnel flying through the air without internal injuries or broken bones, but that's a Hollywood anachronism in general.

Good, but not great - the cleanest of the dirty shirts.
